This spectacular loft is just one of the 17 apartments we manage in the Poetry Building and possibly it's finest. It measures over 800 square feet. It has a high pitched exposed brick ceiling. Light enters from both the front spacious patio fountain area as well as from the front of the apartment.
It is professionally furnished and decorated with modern elegance alongside charming antique touches. It is fully equipped-flat screen TV, DVD, iPod, iPod stereo dock, & local cell phone.
The bed is a king Beautyrest mattress. There is a loft with TV, couch / extra sleeping area. Additionally from the couch, a queen-sized bed extends from the couch in the living room.
The kitchen has a beautiful granite counter top and antique work bench converted into a bar / sitting area with stools. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, oven, 4 burner stove and all the accompanying equipment you would have at home.
The Building: The building is firmly rooted in Argentina's history as the former mansion of one of it’s most revered and famous families, Familia Peralta Ramos. The original elegance and charm of the building has been left intact, while we have fashioned the interior to not only meet, but surpass modern demands. Timeless elements such as the original building facade, old patio and grand entrance remain intact. Suites within the building are suited with Phillips flat screen televisions, Phillips DVD players, and stereo systems including iPod's with a full library of music for your enjoyment. Hi-speed WI-FI runs throughout each of the buildings apartments and covers its shared common spaces which include a large open reception area as well as an outdoor terrace with dipping pool, outdoor shower & sun lounge chairs.

My husband and I stayed at the Poetry Building for our week vacation in Buenos Aires in December 2016 and absolutely loved it!! It's more like a boutique hotel than a vacation rental (without the expensive prices!). They have a concierge who was extremely helpful with arranging dinners, shows, etc. before our arrival, and the communication (both before and during the stay) was excellent. We stayed in 1B for most of the trip, but when our travel plans changed they were very helpful and moved us next-door for our extra night. The rooms are very spacious, with loft ceilings and all the amenities, and were cleaned every day. They have free Wi-Fi through the building, a small dipping pool with a deck on the 4th floor, and an organic vegetable garden on the 6th floor (where you can help yourself to any ripe produce). They also offer to arrange airport pickup and drop-off (although if you have Uber, that's usually cheaper), and they offer to exchange Argentinian pesos (for USD cash or you can put it on your credit card). We took advantage of this because the banks tend to strike on inconvenient days, there's a fee for each withdrawal and a limit of 2500 pesos per withdrawal/day. They also offer to exchange any pesos you don't use back at the same rate at the end of your trip (a great deal you won't find at any bank!!). Even if you're planning on using credit cards for most of the trip, you will need pesos for cab fare, the street markets, and tips at restaurants (you can't put it on your card like you do in North America/Europe). Having a full kitchen was great to have wine before going out to dinner or coffee and a small breakfast in the morning (there's a grocery store round the block and they will even offer to buy some basic groceries for you prior to your arrival!). I would have to say the only drawbacks are the bathrooms, which can be somewhat small and the showers are open plan so when you shower the entire bathroom gets wet. Very centrally located about a 10 minute walk from the Recoleta cemetery. Would definitely recommend/go back!!
The location is perfect- walkable to major sights as well as edge of Palermo. Safe neighborhood. Great restaurants/ cafes in walking distance. Beautiful and thoughtful renovation of building into boutique hotel. Staff super helpful and friendly from the time you book through your last day. Lovely outdoor dipping pool and terrace, but best of all is having a bit more room than in a hotel room with the additional sitting room/ kitchen. AC worked well and good soundproofing as we did not hear neighbors and just a hint of outdoor traffic. Very thoughtful touches such as giving a bottle of wine upon arrival and having a small guest refrigerator on the outdoor terrace for a last-minute purchase of beer or bottle of wine. We debated between staying in Palermo and here in Recoleta and are sure we made the right decision! Hope to be back in the future with our children!
Wonderful staff, beautiful grounds, attentive service.
Concierge was great for those who are new to BA or inexperienced with Spanish.
The staff was very friendly, helpful, nice, and professional. They helped us book tickets to a tango show and helped us get around the city. The apartment was great, we felt like we were at home. The pool and garden were an unexpected surprise and absolutely amazing. We would definitely stay there again and will recommend the Poetry Building to all of our friends.
Highly recommend this hotel to those staying in Buenos Aires! Great customer service!!!
My husband and I stayed at the Poetry Building during our Honeymoon trip and could not have been more pleased! Our large apartment was beautifully decorated and clean. After staying in several hotels, it felt great to spread out and have a little kitchenette with a fridge for drinks and a coffee maker. The location is great- a very safe neighborhood that is close to restaurants and sights. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and welcoming! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone.
