Beautiful loft and building! Great location in Recoleta! Loved it!
The Poetry Building is a beautiful French building in a great location, close to great dining, shopping, taxis, and many historical sites. The staff is very helpful and friendly; they made reservations and arranged private auto transportation for us. They speak English very well to. Loft 1B is spacious and decorated beautifully. It’s located one floor up from street level, so occasionally there was slight street noise. The king size bed is comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The balcony is small but opens to the interior courtyard where you can hear the fountains from the first floor. We loved our stay!
Better than expected
Our stay at the Poetry building was everything we hoped for. Leo and everyone else at the concierge were super polite and helpful when we wanted to make plans for the evening, or just wanted to get our Apple TV (included in the loft) working.
The amenities were more than we expected, including full-service laundry, room cleaning, Apple TV, local cell phone, and more. The booklet of advice was chock full of good information...so much so that we took our copy home with us.
The room was exactly as described, with a loft perfect for our 4 year old. The only concern we had was the lack of real railing, but our son was the right age to know how to be safe. Any kids under 4 would probably need to sleep / stay on the main level.
If we were to visit BA again, we would certainly look to stay at Poetry.
Clean, safe and well located with amazing staff
The room itself was amazing, and stylish and spacious. However, the best part was the staff. They went out of their way to help, setting up reservations and giving us recommendations that were very useful. We 100% recommend it! Thanks especially to Claudio...
Beautiful unique Recoleta apartments - more like a boutique hotel than a vacation rental!
My husband and I stayed at the Poetry Building for our week vacation in Buenos Aires in December 2016 and absolutely loved it!! It's more like a boutique hotel than a vacation rental (without the expensive prices!). They have a concierge who was extremely helpful with arranging dinners, shows, etc. before our arrival, and the communication (both before and during the stay) was excellent. We stayed in 1B for most of the trip, but when our travel plans changed they were very helpful and moved us next-door for our extra night. The rooms are very spacious, with loft ceilings and all the amenities, and were cleaned every day. They have free Wi-Fi through the building, a small dipping pool with a deck on the 4th floor, and an organic vegetable garden on the 6th floor (where you can help yourself to any ripe produce). They also offer to arrange airport pickup and drop-off (although if you have Uber, that's usually cheaper), and they offer to exchange Argentinian pesos (for USD cash or you can put it on your credit card). We took advantage of this because the banks tend to strike on inconvenient days, there's a fee for each withdrawal and a limit of 2500 pesos per withdrawal/day. They also offer to exchange any pesos you don't use back at the same rate at the end of your trip (a great deal you won't find at any bank!!). Even if you're planning on using credit cards for most of the trip, you will need pesos for cab fare, the street markets, and tips at restaurants (you can't put it on your card like you do in North America/Europe). Having a full kitchen was great to have wine before going out to dinner or coffee and a small breakfast in the morning (there's a grocery store round the block and they will even offer to buy some basic groceries for you prior to your arrival!). I would have to say the only drawbacks are the bathrooms, which can be somewhat small and the showers are open plan so when you shower the entire bathroom gets wet. Very centrally located about a 10 minute walk from the Recoleta cemetery. Would definitely recommend/go back!!
Amazing building, great concierge, modern, w/pool
Wonderful staff, beautiful grounds, attentive service.
Concierge was great for those who are new to BA or inexperienced with Spanish.
The Neighborhood: Recoleta is Buenos Aires’ most safe, elegant and architecturally significant neighborhood, centrally located between historical San Telmo and up and coming Palermo. Recoletas urban conveniences of restaurants, bars, museums, theaters and boutique shopping is broken up by large green plazas in every direction. The international airport of Ezeiza is just 40 minutes away while the domestic airport is a short 15 minute ride. The subway system connecting the entire city is a mere 4 blocks away.
