Inside you will find a newly updated beach theme continued with cool tile floors throughout and immaculate bathrooms remodeled to include granite countertops and brand new fixtures. The light, airy kitchen is well appointed with everything you need to enjoy your vacation cooking. However, the free island trolley stops at the end of the street and can whisk you away to the many island eateries and more. You are within walking/biking distance to live entertainment, the two most famous eateries “The Sand Bar” beach restaurant and “Ginny and Jane’s IGA”-- a unique experience, an ice cream shop and so much more. Both large bedrooms have windows to the private back of the house and ceiling fans cool every room.
Our pool was installed in the Spring of 2010. Be one of the first to enjoy your own private oasis of sparkling water and sun surrounded by fruit trees and swaying palms. Anna Maria is a wedding destination, an island untouched by commercialism, a place where bicycles abound and the pace is slow. The Darbyshires have been coming to Bradenton, Florida and Anna Maria since the early 1980's and have owned a condominium in Wildewood Springs since 1985. We purchased this home with our daughter's family in 2010 to both use and rent. Our families hail from the midwest and are all educators with degrees from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Due to the number of years spent in the area, we have many connections and lots of tried and true information and experience to help you have an ideal vacation.

We chose Anna Maria Island and Holmes Beach for the laid back old Florida charm. We love the many activities and amenities. There's always a festival!! Bikes, kayaks and shells galore. The speed limit is 25 so you see segways, golf carts, scooters and more. You even have groceries on the island so you don't have to leave. And as Kenny Chesney says, 'No shirt, no shoes, no problem.' Happy, sunny, healthy people abound. We got quite tired of all the 'YOU CAN'T DO's' in the inland complexes. Here there is freedom and fun!

My husband and I just got back from this cozy, little house. We just loved it! It is cozy, comfortable,
and charming. The private pool is really an added bonus. This house is so clean and a perfect getaway
for a couple or small family. The one block walk to the beach is easy. You can also ride bikes to nearby
restaurants and shopping. We will definitely return.
The Front Porch is a charming home, centrally located so you're not far from anything.
The short walk to the beach was easy. The pool had shade early in the mornings and also again in the evenings. This was perfect after a long day in the beautiful Gulf waters. We so enjoyed our stay. The only upgrade that we would hope for,is a King size bed in the master ( we like a lot of real estate when we sleep). Loved your home!!! Hope to use it again someday.
My mom and I have rented on Anna Maria Island for the past 8 years, we have stayed in a number of different properties. Our requirements are 2 bed, 2 bath home with private pool. We loved this home. It is clean and updated, nice kitchen and baths and comfortable beds. Also, comfortable seating in the living room with TV with DVR. We loved having a DVR so we could watch the sunsets and not miss the beginning of our favorite shows. It is the only home we've stayed in with a front porch, perfect for morning coffee or afternoon when you want to get out of the sun. The backyard pool was great, a very private setting and gets the sun for most of the afternoon (but always some shade available too) which we loved. So close to the beach and a great location for getting to Ginny and Jane E's and all the restaurants on Pine Street but also close to Minnie's, our favorite place for breakfast. Also, this is a one floor home, unusual now on the island since all new construction needs to be raised up for flood reasons. Great to not have to do stairs to get to/from the pool. Also, a very friendly neighborhood, sitting on the front porch was a great way to meet your neighbors. So perfect we tried to rent for next year but it's already booked! Highly recommended.
Very easy to find. The house is breathtaking and the kids loved the heated pool. I loved that the master bedroom had it's own entrance to the back patio/pool area. It is closed to everything whether you want to walk or ride the free trolley. The front porch is covered and makes it nice to sit and relax. The house is very well kept and has a very open feel. I highly recommend this rental.
Our visit to Front Porch allowed us to enjoy this comfy little beach get away. We happened to take our own bicycles because we ride distance regularly. We rode our bicycles around this cute little town everyday for dining, shopping or site seeing. It was so delightful and the weather happened to be great also. It was low season which I am sure made a difference. We enjoyed the private pool at the house when we were not on the beach. The beach was so beautiful! We had our coffee out on the lanai in the mornings - sweet (and the fan helped)! There was a problem that really should have been dealt with prior to our stay. The sliding glass door to the side porch did not lock, the bar in the track was 4 inches to short allowing the door to open slightly, and the vertical blind was missing some blinds causing a privacy issue and the blind did not open or close without me putting my hand on the track to move it. I notified the owner of this issue and let them know that when I rented at full price I did not expect to have these issues. The daughter emailed to apologize. The mother called me to ask if I would get the repair man's info out of a drawer for her (which I did) but I also stated that I was not interested in staying there to wait on the repairman. As far as restaurants: we loved lunch at the Sandbar, dinner at Waterway, shopping and cinnamon rolls at Ginny & Jane E's, Ice cream at Two Scoops and drinks and appetizers at the City Pier to name a few! We did some shopping on the way in at Publix, but then had to enjoy the cute little General Store too. Be sure to check out the shops!! We can't wait to return to Ana Maria Island - it is a great place to celebrate anything or just get some R & R!!!!! I was surprised that it took two weeks for our deposit to be returned...
The property was better than I expected. The home was a good size and had everything we needed. The pool is a great addition and it's nice to jump in after spending the whole day at the beach. Plenty of beaches around to visit. Overall, we had a great time here.
An entire row of morning newspapers available a half a block from the house for those 'early morning paper grabbers' on your vacation!
