Just around the corner is Bourbon Street, but get your cocktail to go, because you might just want to kick back on the gallery (balcony/deck) of this great place to take in the scene, or just enjoy the details in cast-iron of the gallery. Built in 1859, staying here is like living history. Great views of downtown, Cold Air Conditioning, wood floors, full kitchen, ceiling fans in bedrooms, washer and dryer in unit.
The charm of this property is evident when you turn the St. Louis Ave. corner and see the balcony. Even more spectacular are the Courthouse Magnolias surrounding the building. As a long time VRBO traveler I have always wanted to stay in the Big Easy and experience the beauty and history. I rented this extraordinary unit to celebrate my husbands 84th birthday and as expected all of our needs were met. We were located on the third floor, Unit No. 5. We navigated the circular stairway very well and it reminded us of the Tara stairs is Gone with the Wind. Daniel responded to all of our questions and even gave us access to his sweet housekeeper for any additional needs. Specifically we enjoyed the comfortable beds and the central air which was a godsend each day coming home from our walks. Every restaurant we visited was within 2-3 blocks of the Royal St. condo. The unit is very secure with a private entrance from the street and secure entry to the unit itself. The kitchen was immaculate with linens, all utensils, new stove, and fridge. I especially appreciated that spices and cleaning products were there for our use. Each evening we would enjoy a cocktail on the balcony and watch the revelers go by. Take a close look at this gem and be aware that the award winning Brennan's Bistro is right next door and take advantage of their Saturday Brunch. To die for!
Built in 1859, this beautiful, spacious apartment has loads of historic charm, but is updated with the contemporary conveniences you need. The location is excellent, just steps from all the French Quarter has to offer as well as the Central Business District and its excellent restaurants. From your third floor balcony you can observe a constant stream of entertainment from Royal Street, yet when it's time for bed the bedrooms are quiet, dark and peaceful. Highly recommended.
Our family of four - including our 15 & 18 year old daughters stayed for six nights from new years day. The girls shared the bed in the second room, but had plenty of room. The apartment was fantastic! It was clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable & it was true to photos. A little bit of maintenance was needed, but nothing that bothered us. The location was ideal! It was central, with quiet bedrooms located away from the street - Regardless that entertainers often performed on the street below and we were one street down from Bourbon Street, noise was not an issue. We were sorry we weren't able to enjoy the balcony, but it was too cold... Lovely and warm inside though! Would love to come back when the whether is more favourable! There were two flights of stairs, which only bothered us when we had enjoyed too much of the great New Orleans' cuisine - restaurants and bars were located very conveniently nearby! We would highly recommend this apartment - thank you for an enjoyable stay!
This was our first time staying here and we hope to stay here every time we visit. Perfect for two couples. The condo is clean, well maintained and the location is absolutely perfect. The balcony is fantastic. Great a/c and the beds are very comfortable. Bedrooms are located in the back of the condo so noise isn't a factor and being on the third floor is another plus in regards to rooms being removed from late night noise. Safe location and everything you want to get to in the French Quarter is within walking distance. We will be back!
Daniel was great to work with, and the condo's location is perfect. Bourbon is a block over, so you're close enough...but also far away enough. The balcony faces the courthouse, so you're not looking right into someone else's condo. The bedrooms/bathrooms/entire house are VERY nice - we were very happy with it overall. We were a group of two couples, so it was nice that we all had our own space, and that the common area was big enough for everyone. You do have to climb quite a few stairs to get to it, so not recommended for people who are mobility impaired.
Just got back from four great days in this awesome condo. We were two couples, and it was nice that we each got our own room, and our own bathroom. Plenty of room to hang out, and the balcony was wonderful. Everything was clean and nicely decorated. Daniel was quick to answer all my emails with questions, and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend this place to others, and I plan to stay here again!
The French Quarter is New Orleans most popular neighborhood.
One of the best preserved historical neighborhoods in America, the French Quarter has such a strong and lasting Spanish and French influence that you may really feel like you're visiting a foreign country.
