Why John Taubenschlag chose Upper Village
Having 3 children and being an outdoor family, we find Whistler to be the best resorts we have been to. The Whistler Kids program is fantastic and our children amaze us each year. From a personal enjoyment perspective, our Whistler trip is the highlight of our year. We hope you have the same experience.
What makes this Condo unique
We have been enjoying Whistler since 2001. During that time we have stayed in various locations ranging from the youth hostel to the Fairmont. When it came time to buy our Whistler getaway in 2009 we chose Glacier Lodge. Why? Three main reasons: (1) Blackcomb, in our opinion, is the best of the two mountains. We spend 90% of our time on Blackcomb rather than Whistler. (2) Whistler village is extremely noisy at night. In most condos you will hear the lively action until 2 or 3am. It's not the best for a good night's sleep. (3) Location : here we are close to everything. Blackcomb lifts, shops, restaurants at the door; Whistler lifts, cinema, village stroll, more restaurants and shops are a 5 minute walk (or free bus at the door); Lost lake for biking, hiking, cross country skiing are across the road. We hope you will also enjoy our amazing location.

Spacious and lovely condo 100 steps to the lifts
Our group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our whistler vacation. The accommodation helped make it a memorable stay. We were there to ski and being so close to the lifts made the morning very easy. We have stayed in whistler before using the bus to get to the base but never again. There’s nothing that beats walking 1 minute to the lift. WE WILL BE BACK :)
We found the condo clean and very well preeented. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the tvs in each room made it easy to relax in your own space if you needed a break from the group.
The spa and the pool were also a great place to hang out at the end of the day.
Lastly John was great to deal with and his list of suggestions for whistler were appreciated. Although John, we did draw the line at the Fairmont cheesecake - we didn’t do enough skiing to justify that one. We are truly thankful for letting us enjoy your condo.

Drop me a line when you’re ready for your next whistler experience. AND just so you are aware for winter 2018/9 there will be a new 10 person gondola from the base of Blackcomb all the way to the top. This will make make Blackcomb even better.

8 adults stayed comfortably. Enjoyed the Sunday Market right outside our door.
We had a great time
Very spacious property, large bedrooms. The location was great. The heated pool was not busy at all. John was really easy to reach despite being on a different continent. He was very helpful and accommodating. The only reason why we didn't give this place a 5 star is because the housekeeper could have done a better job. The bathroom had stains in the toilet that we scrubbed out when we arrived, we also bought laundry detergent for the place and left it behind for the next guests. We would stay again. Thanks John!
Amazing condo - amazing location
We had an terrific time in Whistler. The ski resort opened early with great snow. The condo at the base of the mountain was a perfect spot from which to enjoy everything.
We were a group of 8 and we found the condo that be very comfortable for our group.

Great place in a wonderful location!
What a great 4 bedroom unit with big rooms and spacious open kitchen/living room. Very clean, nicely furnished with flexibility, nice appliances, well stocked with all necessary amenities including washer and dryer. Very nice to have two fireplaces and two decks as well. Great location in Blackcomb within easy walking distance of any where of the village. Easy access to ski right to the back door if you want and right next to plenty of restaurants and the Fairmont hotel. Building amenities - pool, two hot tubs and workout room were wonderful as well. Also, great to have ski shop and storage in lobby as well as your own liquor store in the lobby and a small grocey market accross the street. Parking was also secure and easy to access. Also the unit is a corner unit at the end of the building so it is quiet from any building activity and easy to access from the back stairwell straight out into the Blackcomb village.
The owner John was tremendous and very informative. Always quick to respond and available if anything comes up. We will be back many times for an annual ski trip! Thank you John!

So much fancy space!
What a great place! 8 of us moms went up to Whistler to do a race. We loved that we all had our own bed (we were given the option to have 2 king beds or split all into singles). We enjoyed having lots of space for all us without feeling squeezed in. We enjoyed the little extras like the wine fridge, the 2 fire places, the 2 master bathrooms, the rain shower, the shoe and coat racks, the walk in closet, the 2 decks and a washer and dryer! The appliances were top of the line too. I got a lot of kudos from the moms for finding and organizing the suite. John was very responsive and helpful. All 8 of us would highly recommend it to others and would stay again.

I will just point out in case other potential guests are reading this that there seems to be a typo in your email. The bedding configuration can be 4 King beds (not 2) or 8 Singles or any combination in between :)

There is also a HomeAway fee that will be shown in your bookings cost estimate. GST is 5%. The tax of 8% being charged also incorporates the HomeAway credit card fee of 3%. Parking fees apply at approximately $15/day. These are managed by the strata and payable at the front desk.
