This exquisite Chateau dates back to the 16th century and is located in the heart of the Loire Valley. Its romantic charm invites you to an idealic sejourn. Past the 'Grand Vallee', the Oak Fir Trees lined Alley, you will find your 'Home away from Home' perfect for leisure walks, children's games, simple relaxation while visiting the Loire Valley - UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The rental unit is a fully equipped, luxurious 2000 square feet apartment in a wing of the Chateau. Our property Ballroom can also provide a great space for special occasions such as wedding receptions, family reunions, birthdays etc. If you enjoy waking up to bird songs and small wildlife, you will love this Chateau.
The Chateau is within easy reach by car from either Paris or St Pierre des Corps TGV Station. Your sightseeing will include the Grand Royal Chateaux, some of France's most beautiful villages, and of course fine wineries. A great way to experience the Valley and its treasures is by Hot Air Balloon. Golf, Horseback and bicycle riding, fishing, tennis are all close by.
Born and raised on an island in the Basque Country in the south of France, with summers at La Noue, I have spent my adult life in the US. I have worked as a Travel Counselor, an Operations Manager for an Incentive house, and today still love planning trips (as an Independant Contractor with a Travel Agency) while managing and spending (again) my summer months at La Noue, renewing my ties with my family Home and sharing my experience with guests, family and friends.
Marie-Christine Miller purchased this castle in 1998
It was 17 years ago that I chose to take over the ancestral family property and renovate it, with in mind to share with guests from all over the world my incredible memories of 'Hide-and-Seek' games throughout the hallways and unending closets of La Noue, walks in the woods with our grandmother hoping to catch a glimpse of a deer or a fox, pick blackberries in the Summer and walnuts fallen from the trees in the Fall. Of course we knew the major Chateaux as well, choosing which to visit and 'hide' in!
La Noue quickly takes over your senses and becomes a paradise for the visiting guests, adults and children alike. The 'Grande Dame' as I lovingly refer to her, graciously offers its serene and calm setting amidst a 120 acres park. Thanks to its proximity to the major sights of the Loire Valley - world reknowned for its magnificent Royal Chateaux and Gardens, historical sites and gastronomic restaurants and wineries, La Noue is a perfect 'Home' while visiting the Valley of the Kings. The apartment is very large (2000sq.ft) and easily can accommodate 6 guests in the existing bedding. Additional rooms can be opened for larger groups. It has been carefully decorated to give the guests this unique 'Home' atmosphere and be a great retreat at the end of days of sightseeing throughout the region.
Our stay at Chateau de la Noue was perfect! We are a family of 6 (4 children) and cannot speak highly enough about the property, it's rich history, and personal stories shared by Christine. She was a gracious host and wanted to make sure that first and foremost, our family had a wonderfully memorable experience. Not only will we be back, we are already planning a return trip with many more family members. If you are lucky enough to have Christine share the castle's amazing history, it will only make you feel like royalty after having stayed at La Noue. This was a true 5 star experience for our family!

Our stay in this chateau was the quintessential Loire experience - staying in a castle of the region constructed in the 16th-17th centuries surrounded by nature but close to many of the major sites. We stayed in our own wing in the castle for 5 nights. We're a family of 5 and the space fit us perfectly (3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, one half bathroom). The wing was very nicely appointed in a traditional style but with all the modern conveniences. Christine was an excellent hostess, very attentive to our needs and knowledgeable of the region. We'd highly recommend staying at Chateau de la Noue, one of our best visits ever.
Our family came across the listing on VRBO by chance but what a lucky day that was!! Our family of 5 spent 4 days there in August and it was more than we could have hoped for. Christine was a fabulous hostess; explaining the history of the castle and helping us with planning our days. The kids loved playing in the backyard and looked forward to the chickens coming for a visit each day. The rooms were spacious and clean, the atmosphere authentic and the evenings were peaceful and quiet. It would also be ideal for 2 couples, as the guest rooms all have a ton of space. If I plan another trip to the region there is NO DOUBT that I would book the castle again. Highly recommended.
We spent four days and nights at Christine Miller's chateau near Valdomer in the Loire and it was absolutely charming and comfortable. We did lots of cooking and local exploring, enjoyed the birdlife on the estate, and Christine was an exceptionally welcoming host, telling us the history of her home and and property and giving excellent advice on local attractions. The home is only 20 minutes north of Vouvray and it's an easy drive to a huge number of Loire attractions. This home is not "high luxury;" rather, it's homey, historic, and utterly comfortable. Easily accommodates six people, though two kids access the rest of the house through the master bedroom. Bathrooms and fully functional, kitchen is compact but handy. Lots of outdoor sitting areas. Recommended!
Our family of four stayed for a week at La Noue in late November and found it to be a great base from which to explore the Loire. Christine was a very responsive and helpful host and her brother Jean was onsite to help with any questions we had. The accommodations themselves were extremely roomy and a truly authentic chateau. Having stayed in the "two room" setup with family at a hotel, being able to share this large and comfortable space was a treat and definitely the only way to travel with family through the country. There were a number of chateaus, charming towns and amazing restaurants within easy driving distance. Getting a quick pastry and espresso in the local village before a day of sight seeing was a great start to our days. While it was extremely cold during our stay (we visited the last week of November and consciously made this trade-off to avoid crowds of tourists), the grounds would have been an awesome setting for a picnic or simply running around during warmer weather. Having large bedrooms and bathrooms for a family to get ready in the morning or simply relax before dinner made enjoying the entire day during our trip so much easier. This is a unique setting for exploring a beautiful area of the French country and getting a true feel for the local lifestyle. A tip though - bring a GPS, if not to find the chateau, to navigate some of the smaller local roads at night, especially if there are any construction detours. We would definitely recommend an extended stay at La Noue to our friends.
This is the most unique, enjoyable and memorable place my wife and I have ever stayed on vacation. It meets and exceeds what the photos and descriptions depict. When you emerge from the half-mile drive through a forest canopy, the sight of the chateau gives the feeling of arrival in a different era. That feeling is enhanced inside where guests can eat, sleep and relax in the same surroundings that have comforted others for hundreds of years, but with all the expected amenities of the modern world.
We traveled by rental car during our one week stay at Chateau De La Noue and each day sought the advice of owner Christine on where to dine, shop, and visit on our excursions around Loire Valley. Her suggestions were always helpful, in particular, her tip that the Le Choiseul cave complex in Amboise was going to be open to the public for one day only, as part of France's Heritage Days. That turned out to be one of the most interesting sites we visited. Her suggestion to have lunch at Trois Marchants, near Cheverny, resulted in a most memorable meal under an umbrella on a rainy day. Christine is an excellent hostess and even walked us through how to pay our parking ticket. As another viewer suggested, please ask Christine for a tour of the portion of the chateau that is still in the process of being restored. You will get a feel for the history of the building and the amount love and effort Christine has invested in her "Grande Dame."
We are recommending Chateau De La Noue to all of our friends, relatives, and anyone else that expresses any interest in visiting France. It definitely is a place we would visit again.
