The condo was just as pictured. It had everything we needed for the week. No need to bring beach towels there were 7 or 8. The walk to the beach was very short. Holly was very polite and helpful. The property is beautiful. The pool was clean. Don't bring charcoal for the grills, they are gas and worked great. The beach is gorgeous. We are used to taking vacation in Gulf Shores, AL. This beach is quite different with so much sea life and seashells. We walked the beach every evening between 5 and 7 and collected a big variety of beautiful shells. Restaurants are a very short distance. We enjoyed the Island Cow, Sanibel Fish House and Light House Café. We kayaked through the mangroves at Ding Darling National Park. We saw manatees, very cool! It rained one morning so we went to the shell museum and a couple of antique shops. By the afternoon, the sun was out again. The only minor things we noted was that the beach umbrella an one of the beach chairs needs replacing. This was a great place to stay and I would definitely stay in this condo again.
I just wanted to take the time and talk about what a wonderful lodging experience we had in this condo. This is our second time to stay at Loggerhead Cay, and I must say, this condo was fantastic. It was very clean and accommodating with all the amenities one could possible want. The furniture is comfortable and it is decorated very nice beach theme. And, unlike other reviews, we had absolutely no problem with WIFI signal. The beach accessories that are provided made lounging in the sun easy. The location in the complex is excellent with access to the beach only a short walk from the condo. Its location close to the elevator makes access a snap.
Of course it would be an oversight not to mention the excellent service and help from the owner. We feel like she went above and beyond to accommodate our vacation needs. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
My daughter, my best friend, and I spent a girls' week sunning and shelling. This condo was just right, not too pricey and had all the amenities we needed. Some of the furnishings are dated, but we spent more time outside than inside! We did have to contact the owner for an issue and it was addressed immediately. The pool was fantastic, and just floating in it was so relaxing. We plan to stay in this condo again in the future.
We enjoyed the tram tour through JN "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge and would love to go back during winter months when more migratory birds are there. We would also recommend "Adventures In Paradise" if you want to take a short cruise. We went on their shelling cruise to North Captiva Island and saw manatee, dolphins, and sea turtles. Had a great lunch at Barnacle Phil's on North Captiva, long wait for food but so worth it! We also brought home a wide variety of shells from that trip, along with a great tan! We plan to return to Sanibel Island in a year or so and find some more beautiful shells. Thanks for a memorable week...it was so hard to leave.
Had a wonderful time and the condo was recently updated with many new appointments. We have stayed in this condo many times and at Loggerhead many years. We will definitely come back next year. It is very comfortable and like a second home to us. Al and Renee Darien, Illinois
Great gulf view from porch. Overlooks pool area (which depending on how many children there are - can be noisy - my guess is that this is primarily the case around Easter only). While some of the furnishings are dated - perfectly adequate. Kitchen is updated, reasonable amount of cookware. Bathrooms need updates. Beds are very comfortable. Owner is very responsive to inquiries and questions. Had no problem at all with WIFI - suspect the person who previously indicated he/she had spotty coverage has a plan other than Verizon - we had fine WIFI (except for my daughter who has AT&T. We very much enjoyed our stay - this is the third condo we have stayed in at Loggerhead Cay and found it to be better than a first floor corner one we stayed in in building 2 but not as nice as a unit we previously stayed in in building 1. That being said - would have NO hesitation to rent this unit again.
This was our 7th stay in Loggerhead Cay, and our first in this unit. Overall, the unit is clean, comfortable, well stocked, and incredibly convenient. You can just arrive with your clothes, sunscreen, and food for your stay...& you will be all set for your vacation!
Pros and cons of this unit....
Fantastic location close to both the beach and the pool.
Unit provides beach items including towels, chairs, umbrella, sand toys, & floats (even a couple of books and indoor board games too)
Appliances and air conditioner all work great
Master Bedroom bed is dated & a bit uncomfortable (guest BR twin beds are newer than the master bed, and are much more comfortable)
Unit doesn't have it's own WIFI, but rather, shares a signal from a neighboring unit (resulting in spotty reception throughout the unit).
Only sheer curtains in family room area, minimizing privacy of the unit, esp. at night
To nit pick a bit, I'd say that even though the unit is obviously cleaned between guests, it could periodically use a heavy / deep cleaning (esp. along the glass shower door tracks, air vents, corners of floors / baseboards). We have stayed in fancier units in LC, as well as in much more spartan units that were not as well cared for as this one. The owner is very helpful & responsive to any & all questions in a timely fashion, which is a big bonus for me. We had a fun & enjoyable week here, and would definitely rent this unit again. :)
