Lovingly appointed with high-end appliances and modern furnishings, this large home with an open floor plan offers the perfect setting for entertaining, relaxing, sun tanning, and enjoying Kailua's extraordinary year-round weather.

Renovated in 2010 and updated in 2017, this home is conveniently located walking distance to Enchanted Lake Shopping Center (Safeway grocery, Starbucks, Subway, McDonalds, Ben Franklin, Round Table Pizza, etc...), The Shack restaurant and sports bar, and St. John Vianny Catholic church. A short 5 minute 1.7 mile drive brings you to world-famous Kailua beach and another 5 minutes to the incomparable Lanikai Beach. Kailua town is also a 5 minute drive to shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, post office and the local farmers market.

The house features two renovated modern bathrooms. The master bedroom has a California King bed, a private bath, private garden and a flat screen TV and DIRECTV cable. The other two large bedrooms have Queen beds, a private garden and share a full bath. Air conditioning was recently (Sept 2017) added to the living/dining room along with 99% UV blackout curtains to keep the whole house cool. About Richard Lewis

I am the CEO of a software company that has had to relocate to Ventura, CA. I came to Hawaii in 1987 from North Carolina and fell in love with the state and the island of Oahu. To escape the hectic pace of Honolulu I moved to Kailua in 2007. Kailua is definitely the best place on Oahu to live and vacation. Small town feel, safe, friendly people, gorgeous beaches, and wonderful weather. I am an avid Crossfitter and exercise enthusiast and love being outside as much as possible.

Why Richard Lewis chose Keolu Hills

This location is central to everything. Close to the Enchanted Lake Shopping Center, close to Kailua town and close to the beaches. It is on a nice, quiet residential street and is a large, 9500 square foot flat lot. I also love the privacy of the large walled back yard.

What makes this house unique

The house has high, open-beam ceilings and an open floor plan. The back lanai extends the living space out into the yard under the palm trees. The private back yard is great for sun tanning, grilling and playing volleyball or catch. I enjoy entertaining friends, using the outdoor shower, cooking out and sitting out under the stars at night.

Excellent, Modern, Clean and Great area!!!!

The Kamahele House was a great choice for our family and was excellent with three kids. Two toddlers and an 11 year old. The size of the property with the fenced in secured back yard was great. We loved that we were 5 minutes away from the top beaches on Oahu and 5 minutes away to a nice shopping area in Kailua, with a Wholefoods market, Farmers Markets, as well as great restaurants. Not to mention there is a Safeway right across the road for convenience. We will definitely be staying here again for future trips to the island!

Convenient location

The location was very convenient to stores, restaurants and great beaches. Size of house was very comfortable. Only one drawback- the street noise was almost unbearable. The cars passing by and the stereo thumping from the cars. Very noisy. The shower liners in both bathrooms need to be changed. Also there isn’t a full size oven. A large toaster oven on counter. Other than that it’s a great house.

Excellent property, feels like you’re coming home instead of a hotel room.

I used to live in Waikiki for 4 years, but haven’t been to the islands in about 5 years. My wife and I were planning a vacation/honeymoon/marriage and we were lucky enough to rent this house. The house is absolutely beautiful, has all of the amenities you need to feel like you are home. We had a total of 5 people in the house and had plenty of room. We loved being able to cook whenever we want, great way to save money, but also relax in a not so busy area. There were a couple minor issues, but Richard promptly returned our questions as did the property manager. Such nice people and make you feel like family. If you are traveling to Hawaii with more than 2 people, go through Richard! You are paying more money in a hotel, for less room. And you are also staying in a busy area, not where the locals stay in Waikiki; that is why Kailua is awesome. Lots of shops, restaurants and grocery stores 3 minutes from home. Also 7 minutes to Kailua Beach. I miss the house already being gone for almost a week. If we return back to Hawaii will absolutely stay here again. Mahalo Richard for making our trip wonderful and our wedding so memorable.

Nice, clean, and good location.

Maybe a bit pricy as you probably need a rental car. Nevertheless, the place was clean, spacious, and in a great location if you don't want to be stuck in Waikiki. The owner was also very accommodating and helpful. If I want to stay in Kailua again, I would stay here again.
