About Diane Quinn

Growing up we always came to Ocean City, Maryland for our family vacation. We stayed at the old Belmont Hotel on Dorchester Street, then in later years we would rent condos further up the beach as Ocean City grew. In later years I'd spend summers in Dewey, Rehobeth, and Bethany Beach. Then one day I saw these homes being built in Fenwick Island, and I liked it because Fenwick was less crowded than the other beaches. I moved in the summer of 2004, and a decorator friend helped me with the Carribean paint colors. My family and I enjoyed summers and weekends there for the next few years. I started renting the house on Homeaway in 2010, so it's only been used as a rental property for 5 years. I have been very lucky that everyone who has rented keeps the house as beautiful as they find it!

Diane Quinn purchased this townhome in 2004

Guestbook comments from the manager

The house is a storybook three floor condo off Lighthouse Road. A blink of an eye from Coastal highway. Just turn at Viking Mini Golf - and about three minutes later you're there.

The house is decorated with taste and a sense of humor, in colors that will make you grin. With hardwood floors, pine wainscots and views of the bay from everywhere.

You can catch the lighthouse beams at night. And of course the panorama sunsets. Photos don't do it justice.

Aside from the creature comforts, you can head left to Rehobeth and the land of discount shopping. . .Or turn right and you're in Ocean City, where there's always something to do.

Overcharged for laundry

  • 1 of 5

I'm sad to give this beautiful home such a low rating, but I feel it necessary. My girlfriends and I stayed here and had a wonderful time. My issue is not with the home itself but with my communications with Diane, the owner. When my group arrived to the home, we were surprised to see that there were no sheets on any of the beds, especially since there was nothing in the listing or rental agreement that said we needed to provide our own sheets. We noticed an open closet filled with sheets, so we used them. We thought it was odd but didn't think much of it. We spent 3 lovely nights there. Prior to departure, I made sure to read the rental agreement very carefully with all the rules concerning cleaning up, and we left the home in very good condition. Fast forward to a few weeks later, I received only half of my deposit back from Diane. Her reasoning was that we were supposed to bring our own linens, the closet where we found the linens was "supposed to be locked", and that there was not enough time to wash the linens at the house before the next tenants were to arrive. Now, I understand that by using the linens we caused some inconvenience. For this, I apologize. But to charge me so much money for this when all it says in the rental agreement is that "no linens are lost or damaged" is simply inappropriate. I have sent Diane two messages concerning this, which have both been ignored. Again, I hate to write this review because my friends and I truly loved staying here, but between being charged a large sum for some laundry and Diane not responding to my concerns, it was a necessity.

Owner's Response: After seeing this review, I called Homeaway and explained that my sister (who cleaned my house) found that the renters had opened the owners' closet and used all the towels and sheets. She found them in big wet in piles on the floor, and that it took her hours to clean the house for the next renters. Homeaway asked me to check my Rental Agreement, and I saw that my 2016 Agreement did not specifically instruct renters that they needed to bring their own sheets and towels. After that I did refund Bethany the rest of her security deposit! I told her I was sorry for the misunderstanding. I have since made sure my Rental Agreement is clear that we can't provide linen service. I have five hours between check-in and check-out on Saturdays, and there are four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms to clean, along with the kitchen, living and dining areas. There is simply not enough time for cleaners to wash and dry linens. I have been using Homeaway since 2010, and many renters come back every year. My home is beautiful and I do my best to make it comfortable for all my renters, and I'm sorry for this misunderstanding.

... Your Worries Immediately Melt Away

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we walked in the door, we were blown away by the gorgeous view from all three levels. Every detail of the decor was perfectly coordinated to remind you that you are at the beach and you were there to relax and have fun. The location of the property is ideally suited for just that! It is within walking distance from a terrific beachy restaurant & bar, several good restaurants and a water sports rental. The ocean beach is a 5 minute drive. Our family has been coming to DelMarVa beaches for years, this was one of the more enjoyable trips and venues.

The place was clean, no musty or old smell, Diane was terrific to deal with and we will be back.

Beautiful house, amazing location, felt like home!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from an amazing vacation, and this was due in large part to this home! The location is excellent, close to all of the Fenwick Island restaurants and shops, and less than a half mile to the beach. You could easily walk to the beach but we chose to drive (a 1 minute drive!) and had no trouble at all with street parking (granted we arrived before 9am). The house is beautifully decorated and very cheerful, perfect for a beach location. We were pleasantly surprised with how large the home is-- the pictures do not do it justice! The layout worked very well for our family as there is one master bedroom on the ground floor, and three other bedrooms on the top floor. The view over the bay is absolutely amazing. We spent a lot of time on the balconies watching the sunset! We hope to stay at this home many times in the future!

Fantastic seashore find

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic views of the Fenwick Island Lighthouse, and of the birds, grasses, wild flowers and calm waters of Lighthouse Cove -- over which you can watch the sun setting over the water, from the outdoor decks or indoors, every evening. Indoors, every room is beautifully furnished and decorated in seaside themes that set a happy tone without overdoing it. The beds and furniture are comfortable and tastefully chosen. And the community is gated! We count ourselves so fortunate to have found this gem of a seaside home, walking distance from the shore, with its own gorgeous, quiet, bay-view surroundings. We have stayed here several times and are thrilled every time we arrive.

Excellent Vacation Home!

  • 5 of 5

Our family has rented this home for two years now and we love everything about it. The location is Excellent, very close to the beach and great restaurants. The bay views from the living room and master bedroom are beautiful. The home is very spacious and comfortable. We feel like we are home when we are there. We rent for two weeks every July and are already looking forward to this summer! The owner, Diane, is great to work with and makes us feel like friends. In our opinion, you could not ask for a better vacation home!
