About the property

Chalet, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Gorgeous River View & Access

Come to the Riversong Chalet Retreat and breathe in the peace and tranquility of nature overlooking the white-waters of the Snoqualmie River's most southern fork. This charming Chalet has been updated to make for a comfortable and inviting get-a-way! Situated just across from the John Wayne Trail and nestled in a canopy of evergreens, it is the perfect spot to meditate, read, write, paint or satisfy your hunger to hike, kayak, bike, golf or ski.

The Chalet has soaring ceilings matched by sweeping views of the boulder filled, foamy whitewater river and towering fir, aspen, cedar and hemlock. Eagle and Osprey fish happily here, while Mallards and Heron have also claimed the river for sunning and fishing. Elk, deer and squirrel can be seen and lend to the feeling of blending with nature. Although located just minutes from I-90, once on the property, you'll feel a million miles away.

The downstairs bedroom is fitted with a queen Tempurpedic mattress. The upstairs loft bedroom has a four poster with a firmer queen mattress with memory foam toppers for an extra comfortable rest. There is also a single sleigh bed in the loft for a child or extra guest. The loft is 400 sq. feet so there is plenty of room for the cots located in the closet for extra little sleepers! (5 Adults Max) (**Note: There is also a PacknPlay located in the upstairs closet if needed) The home is cozy and charming with ambient lighting, spiral staircase to the upper loft, wood floors and a cushioned porch swing .

We are located 10 minutes from the Snoqualmie Casino which features world class dining and entertainment! The town of North Bend is the home of the legendary Twin Peaks filming and Twedes Cafe where memorabilia abound. Twin Falls St. Park, Mt. Si and trails, Rattlesnake Lake and hiking trails, and The John Wayne Trail are all within either walking or biking distance or minutes by car. Snoqualmie Pass ski slopes are just fifteen minutes east! We have supplied games and books, two color televisions and a hearth to warm yourself and loved ones by.

Get past a writer's block, rest from the chaos of the city, or just come to have a welcome change of pace! This comfortable nest will be a delight to arrive at and hard to leave!

Charming Chalet by the River's Edge

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I shared the chalet with his sister for a long weekend in June. We were in town for a high school graduation. It is very peaceful and relaxing. The long deck spans the back of the house and overlooks the river. It is just beautiful. The house is very comfortable. There is a bedroom downstairs and the second bedroom is an open loft upstairs. My husband and I used that and I felt like we had plenty of privacy. The beds were very comfortable. It was very clean when we got there and DeAnne & Valerie were quick to respond when we could not figure out the TV. Breakfast was the only meal we cooked there but the kitchen was adequately equipped to accommodate that.

I will definitely be adding this one to my favorites list!

Slice of heaven, exactly what we needed to get away.

  • 5 of 5

My fiance and I are two young(ish) professionals who sometimes spend the week seeing each other only in passing as we are both on the road often and keep odd hours. Needless to say sometimes it feels like you're living to work and not the other way around. I wanted us to take a weekend away and go someplace where we could really feel out of touch with the city, we live practically in downtown Seattle. I looked at probably 300 listings that are driving distance from Seattle and finally settled on this chalet.

This place sits about a mile or more back into a neighborhood and it is absolutely on the river. The drive from our house was maybe 40 minutes at most in Friday afternoon traffic. The kitchen is fully stocked with pretty much any dish that you might need to cook something and it might actually be bigger than the one I have in my own house. Each room in the house is well-appointed as one would furnish any room in their own home. The windows and balcony that open up to the view of the river and the forest beyond are just amazing. All we wanted was a quiet peaceful place that we could get away and really feel like we were away. This exceeded our hopes and expectations in every way. We had some groceries delivered from Instacart, we cooked together, we played music, we took our pup on hikes on trails that are a 5 minute drive, and sometimes we just sat and listened to the sound of the river and the seclusion. To top it off, the owners were so easy to work with! (Customer service is very important to me). We accidentally left something in the Chalet and one of them took time out of her busy schedule to meet with me to return it.

If you are looking for some place that you can sit by a fire and watch the river and really feel like you are away from it all without having to go very far, this is your place. We found it better than a hotel in every way. We will be staying here again!

Great getaway spot

  • 4 of 5

This is a lovely, well-kept and well-stocked house/cabin that we enjoyed for four nights at the end of December. The location is fabulous for exploring the North Bend/Snoqualmie area -- we even went downhill skiing at The Summit at Snoqualmie. The beds are all very comfortable, and the sound of the river right in front of the house is fabulous. There were lots of towels, and the kitchen has everything you might need. My only suggestion to the hosts is that for winter guests, it would be good to turn the heat on a few hours before they arrive, as it was very cold when we arrived and took a long time to warm up.

Clean, comfortable, peaceful.

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful stay. Not a thing to complain about. The chalet was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were super comfortable. The fireplace so cozy. The neighborhood was peaceful, welcoming and I felt very safe. Proximity to the hiking trail was great. And of course.....the river!!! To step out of bed and have that view was spectacular. Thank you. I hope to return.

Very relaxing

  • 5 of 5

I bought this for a Xmas and birthday present and couldn't be anymore satisfied with the accomendations. I was able to bring my dog with me I was nervous at first because of the hardwood floors. He astonished me he was such a good boy loved sleeping by the fireplace. This place is perfect for families and the location is just breathtaking. After a short drive to play in the snow coming back to a warm house made the day perfect. The neighbors are really nice and it's quiet.

The only thing I would recommend when it's cold prior to a guest arriving have the heat on low can prepare the guests from entering a freezing cold house.

I will definitely booked another package before the summer I feel 2 nights just wasn't enough.

Thank you again, for the hospitality

About Valerie Fogel & DeAnne Dodson

We have been residents in North Bend since 1997. We fell in love with the mountains and the rivers, the hikes and the scenery. We love to travel, write, paint, and spend time with family and dear friends. Being a part of the Great Pacific Northwest is and will always be a passion. The smell of the fir trees, the roil of the river, the eagle and wildlife that share these vast and intimate spaces are our extended family and never ending source of satisfaction.

Valerie Fogel & DeAnne Dodson purchased this chalet in 2004

Why Valerie Fogel & DeAnne Dodson chose Riverbend

We bought this home to have a retreat to share with family and friends. It feels miles from the hub-bub of the suburbs or the city, but is actually just minutes away from nightlife or the airport!

What makes this chalet unique

The most treasured benefit of staying at this property is the close proximity to nature and the serenity and peace that brings!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We came here to escape from the "real" world for a few days and couldn't have found a better place. We enjoyed spending time exploring along the trails and the river. The weather was perfect for relaxing on the deck, enjoying the sights and sound of the river. It was nice to let the city ebb away to be replaced by the soothing sounds of nature. The chalet was cozy, comfortable and romantic. What a rare treat to be able to relax in front of the fireplace while enjoying the sounds of the river just outside the door.

Everything here at the chalet met and exceeded our expectations and we definitely hope to return in the future.
