Located on a quiet, safe cul-de-sac, the property is sited directly on Taylor's Pond with over 250 feet of pond frontage. View the sunrise from the deck overlooking the pond. (See photos.) Taylor's Pond is a salt water tidal pond that meets Nantucket Sound via Mill Creek--perfect for kayaking, canoeing, or small motor boats. (Local vendors rent kayaks by the week. They deliver too.) The houses on the Pond are quintessential cape architecture.
Starting at the house, it's a 1/2 mile walk to Forest Beach (facing south), 2 miles to Harding's Beach (a very popular family beach in Chatham, faces south) and a 4-mile drive to the center of downtown Chatham. Access the water at the property's edge wearing your clogs or shellshoes for kayaking, canoeing or boating. From there, it's a 10-minute kayak ride to a small beach (facing south) that is reachable only by water. A pretty bike path, with a direct and easy run to Chatham center, is only a half mile away.
The house is a 4-season house with central AC, heat, and gas fireplace. There are three bedrooms and 2 full baths. The master bedroom (queen) and a second bedroom (2 twins) are on the main floor. (see photos) The bathroom on the first floor has just been completely renovated and has an oversized shower with a bench seat and a heated floor. A third bedroom (2 twins) is on the lower level. There is a ping-pong table on the lower level with games and puzzles for rainy or lazy days Property has wireless Internet, a gas grill, and a flat screen t.v. All linens (bedding, bath and beach towels) are included. RENTAL IS FOR 4 PERSONS MAXIMUM.

My wife is an interior designer and I am a Professor of Economics at Boston College. We have a home in the Boston suburbs and a home in Chatham. We have three daughters who have now left the nest.
deirdre purchased this house in 2007
Location, location, location. The house has 250 feet of frontage on Taylor's Pond (a salt water tidal pond connected to Nantucket Sound) with picturesque views of classic Cape Cod architecture.
The photos really do not say it all...The house is bright, immaculate, beautifully decorated, and so very comfortable and peaceful. We especially enjoyed the deck, which overlooks the pond, which connects to tidal lagoons and the Nantucket Sound. Coffee in the mornings, drinks in the evening, and dinners on the deck were worth every penny. Our family rented a kayak and enjoyed exploring the adjacent tidal lagoons, and took the kayak out to the private beach and the ocean front. The bird watching opportunities are fantastic. One thing to note: the boat launch is best at high tide, so you are somewhat limited in the best times of day for kayaking. Our family also really enjoyed the ping pong table at the house - a real plus. We also liked being able to access the bike trail just a short trip from the house, as well as being able to bike to awesome ice cream at Schoolhouse and yummy pies as Marion's. Deidre and Frank were wonderful hosts and ready to help if we needed it. I recommend this house without hesitation!
Our family of four spent a peaceful week at this gem of a house. The decor was beachy chic, and the condition was pristine. The location was perfect for exploring the cape yet we never wanted to leavw the deck! Our mornings were spent enjoying coffee on the porch listening to the birds and our evenings were spent back on the deck enjoying a glorious view of the salt water pond. We were able to rent kayaks and SUPs for the week and we left them below the house so that we could spend our days paddling through the adjacent waterways to quiet beaches. Just be sure to bring water shoes as the entrance is quite muddy. The owners were not only charming, but a wealth of information and we hope to return to this little slice of paradise
Having a hard time finding the right words to capture the beauty that our week at Waterfront on Taylors Pond was. The home was beautiful, welcoming and comfortable with all the amenities of home. The view from the deck was serene and peaceful. The location was secluded, yet safe and friendly. Access to everything from church to shopping to dining to exploring was just minutes away. And, the owners were so helpful and friendly, it was as if we'd known them for years. If you are looking for the perfect place to enjoy resting, boating, swimming, eating lobster or "getting lost" on purpose, this is it. Waterfront on Taylor's Pond is back on our bucket list of places to visit.
This is an immaculate vacation home. The view from the deck of the sunrise over Taylor's pond is to be remembered. My family of four stay here for the week in August and were treated to a quintessential Cape Cod vacation. The house is close to all attractions in Chatham yet secluded, and only an hour-long boat ride to Nantucket. For those sporty enough, try kayaking to a secluded beach from the backyard or from the boat launch just down the road. After a long day of activities, relax on the deck with a slice of bumbleberry pie from Marion's.
We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation at this lovely, comfortable Chatham house. The house and surroundings were even prettier than pictured online, and the owners could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The house was really well appointed and we had everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking. The deck was a great place to eat dinner and just hang out. The house is centrally located on the Cape, and we took several day trips. Great restaurants in town. We would definitely come back.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this property! We loved the beautiful deck overlooking Taylor Pond and we also loved exploring the pond in our rented kayak (so many birds to see as well as opportunities to kayak to a beautiful beach). The home itself was immaculately clean. We especially enjoyed the modern bathroom on the main floor as well as the spacious, modern and comfortable bedrooms. Windows provide a pleasant cross-breeze and there is also has central air. The living room is very comfortable - we enjoyed many meals at home during our stay. My husbands' parents joined us for part of the trip and the home worked perfectly for four people. The location is also fabulous. We enjoyed dining out in Chatham and Harwich (minutes away by car). The home is on a very quiet street (quiet cul de sac where you feel secluded and far away from noisy roads and traffic) which is exactly what we were looking for. Finally, Frank and Deirdre went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to ensure we had everything we needed. We highly recommend this home and will surely be back!
