This 2 bedroom 2 bath house was built in 1989, and features a tin roof, with living quarters on 'stilts', in the traditional coastal Florida style. It was remodeled and all new furniture installed, in the winter of 2010.
Nature lovers will find a lot to love. The house sits on a 3 acre lot which it shares with one other similarly-styled home. A large deck with outdoor seating and dining overlooks mangroves at the edge of Lemon Bay. Oranges, grapefruit, mango, bananas, and avocado trees, plus many native plants grow on the property. Owls reside in the mature pines surrounding the home, and eagles and osprey nest nearby.
A coastal estuary is beyond the mangroves, where kayaks can be launched and paddled into Lemon Bay. Sea birds and fish are plentiful, including redfish, snook, and spotted sea trout. Stump Pass is immediately across Lemon Bay, which provides access to the Gulf of Mexico.
Within 10 mins, there are beaches, 3 golf courses open to visitors, marina's for boat rentals and a fishing pier. Boca Grande with unique boutiques, quality restaurants and world famous Tarpon fishing in the Pass, is 20 mins away. Sarasota is 30 miles to the North, with many cultural attractions (theater, baller, opera, concerts, Ringling Museum), as well as spring training games with the Baltimore Orioles.

Steve and Andrea Hillebrand are the managers of the property. Full time Sarasota, Florida residents since 1983, they are very knowledgable about the area and and its activities and attractions. They are always onhand to ensure your vacation is as enjoyable as possible!
The Owner purchased this house in 1989
My parents, siblings and I started coming to this area of Florida in 1969, for vacations in the sun, far from Michigan's winters. The main attractions are still the same: natural beauty, beaches and sunny weather.
close to beaches, golfing courses, boating waters, excellent fishing and kyaking,as well as abundant natural habitat, peacefull and relaxing environment.
My family stayed at this lovely house for two weeks while visiting from Sweden. They were very pleased with the quiet and private location of the property on a dead end street close to Lemon Bay. The house was very clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The owner was accomodating and easy to reach. We highly recommend this rental.
Spent a wonderful two weeks in February. Great deck where we sat among the trees, reading and relaxing. If you forgot any reading, there is a well stocked library which we took advantage of. Eagle's nest on the property with two eagle chicks!! Short walk to the dock on Lemon Bay where we watched the sunsets nightly and befriended local fishermen. Kayaks are available on site, and wonderful beaches on Manasota Key just minutes away. Had all of the amenities that we needed and bed most comfortable. A number of wonderful parks are close by, great for hiking, birding, and boating. Not far from Venice, Boca Grande and Sarasota. Will return.
just what was advertised. quiet , secluded, near the bay. home was decorated very appropriately for the beach location. =everything was provided. would definitely consider again.
We were able to spend the entire month of March in this hidden gem. Very quiet location, nestled among palm trees and mangroves. Beautiful decor inside and well stocked with high quality amenities. The deck was great for sitting out and enjoying the sounds of nature, including a nesting pair of eagles. My husband really enjoyed having the kayaks available with quick access to Lemon Bay. Numerous nearby trails are minutes away for walking, running and sightseeing. Plenty of stores and restaurants in the area. We will definitely be returning!
We really enjoyed the vacation home! It was very clean and in a perfect location! We plan to stay there again. The beaches and marinas were very close. There were many good places to dine too. Also very easy to deal with owners and everything was as described.
This well-maintained home was in a quiet area, yet close to beaches and activities. My favorite beach was Stump Pass State Park. It does require a $3 (exact change) parking fee, but I spent quite a few mornings there, walking, looking for sharks teeth, and sea shells, and enjoying the Gulf and birds. The best place to look for shells is about a one mile walk down the beach towards the Pass. Some nice day trips were Boca Grande, Sarasota, Ellenton Outlet Mall, and Warm Mineral Springs, Ponce de Leon's "fountain of youth". Sadly, there was talk of Warm Mineral Springs closing when we were there. Call first before you go. There is a nice cafe and spa at the mineral springs, also. My daughter and brother took out the kayaks that came with the property for a tour of Lemon Bay. They enjoyed that expedition. I would definitely recommend a stay at this property as an alternative to the "Theme Park" Florida!
