Owner Description:: Year Purchased: 2010 - I grew up in Chattanooga and really enjoy coming back home so it seemed logical that I should buy a house there. There's so much for all four of my children to do there and so much to see and the location is so awesome that i couldn't resist!

Jackie Ryan purchased this house in 2010
The location is wonderful, so close to all that Chattanooga has to offer!! Only 6 miles to either Hamilton Place or Northgate shopping centers and 2 miles from the downtown area!! All of my neighbors are really wonderful and are fully supportive of the revitalization of the Orchard Knob Area....
The house was really nice and the best part was the location so close to downtown activities! It was also good to be able to cook our own meals and not worry about restaurants... the backyard was great for the kids and using the gas grill was great for a quick cookout! "
We recently made a trip to Chattanooga to celebrate a couple of friends birthdays. Our experience in this house could not have been any better!! It was extremely clean, had anything we could ever want, and was very very spacious. Also the house was very nicely decorated. It was only a very short $10 Uber ride to downtown.
Concerning previous comments about the neighborhood, like inside any Metro city you are not going be surrounded by million dollar houses. However, this house was absolutely kept up as well as the majority of the houses in the neighborhood. I never once felt unsafe walking or jogging around the neighborhood early in the morning or late in the evening. Just like any neighborhood you just have to use a little common sense and you will be fine.
Overall the experience was perfect and I can't wait for the opportunity to stay in the house again during our next trip to Chattinogga!!
I absolutely loved this home. It was immaculately decorated, clean, fully stocked, in a quiet neighborhood, and just gave me a very comfortable, at-home feeling. I love the antique, fleur-de-lis, French feeling of the home. there were small, lovely touches all over, which shows me that someone went to great lengths to make this home beautiful. My family and I had never been to Chattanooga and this home made our stay so easy. The owner was so reasonable and helpful. I will definitely be booking one of her homes next time we come back to Chattanooga.
My family stayed here for a reunion and what a pleasure. The interior was absolutely delightful. The home was well taken care of and so clean. It has three full baths, and so it was important to me that they were thorough in the housekepping area. The kitchen was well stocked and a Keurig was provided with K-cups. The owner is great. Highly recommend.
This is a nice house with plenty of space, nicely decorated, in an obviously depressed neighborhood (multiple houses in poor repair and some boarded up...we never felt unsafe but I wouldn't walk there after dark...and the first night we heard neighbors yelling at each other). We struggled with how many stars to give it because it was probably a four-star house with two-star details and location.
The good: It really is a pretty house. The wi-fi and TV work well (a major plus for teenagers), and the space offers plenty of elbow room for a family.
The not-so-good: The place was clearly not cleaned before we got there. One of the beds did not appear to have been changed as it smelled ("like a sweaty teenager" said my son), the floor had not been vacuumed in the master, and the downstairs shower was full of hair. We found thick dust on the end tables, dirty dishes in the cupboard, and stained, worn-out (with holes) hand towels in the bathrooms. There were two stained washrags in the kitchen and no other kitchen towels. For being charged a fairly expensive "linen setup fee," we really expected quality, clean linens.
Maintenance is sub-par. At least two towel bars were coming off the walls in the bathrooms, one toilet runs unless you jiggle the handle, some tiles were loose on the master bath floor, and one bathroom sink drain was clogged. These things are easy fixes, but apparently the maintenance team doesn't notice them.
The most frustrating thing was when we discovered that the door deadbolt and knob had different keys, and the lockbox only included keys for the deadbolt. We discovered this when we were locked out of the house, and it turned out that the previous tenant had lost the knob key and nobody had bothered to (1) replace it or (2) warn us not to lock the knob. The owner called a locksmith, and we had to wait for him to come. We wound up sitting in the driveway about an hour. The owner responded as quickly as possible, but not once did she offer us any sort of refund or credit even when I called these things to her attention. This despite the fact that her contract is full of charges to be levied if you, the customer, fail to keep up your side of the terms.
Oh, and be aware that the "small bedroom downstairs" is a bed in the entryway by the door you use to access the house.
Overall, it's nice space, convenient to most of Chattanooga, but we expected more for the price we paid, and more consideration when problems were reported.
My overall impression was that this home was very well kept, clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a great weekend! It even had a Keurig coffeemaker and coffee left out for us. We were a large group and it was plenty large enough for us all. The only distraction from this home was some of the neighboring homes were not as nice but since I was renting it and not buying it or the neighborhood it didn't really matter to me. It had WiFi and TV's in every room and was really clean which was very important to me!!! I would highly recommend this home to anyone!
I booked this home with Jackie for a group of nine for a bachelorette weekend. It suited us perfectly: the size, the style, the amenities. (The surrounding neighborhood isn't very well-kept upon first glance, but that didn't affect us at all.) The inside of the home is lovely and had everything we needed. The home is easy to find upon arrival and a short drive from downtown, so we were able to come and go with ease.
The property was maintained well and stocked with basics so we felt well-accommodated the entire time. Jackie was great to work with--very customer-friendly! Thank you for a wonderful place to make memories in Chattanooga! We hope to return someday.
