My husband and I love living in this historic yet modern Canadian city. We travel frequently but always relish returning to just right-sized Victoria allowing easy access to world class sites and experiences. We look forward to sharing with you what we know about Victoria and its many attractions.

Why The Owner chose Victoria

This location is second to none. In the historic portion of Victoria, it retains all the charm of yesteryear with its refurbished heritage buildings. Yet it is five minutes walk through cobblestone streets to the Inner Harbour and 2 blocks from the oldest Canadian Chinatown. Outside the doorstep are numerous award winning restaurants and the LoJo (Lower Johnson) design area filled with one of a kind shops.

What makes this condo unique

The building is in the heart of all the downtown action, yet is quiet and serene when you step indoors. Quality finishing and thick brick walls envelop you while the 12 foot ceilings flood the space with south and west light. The terrace is a show stopper, adding over 800 very enjoyable square feet to the living space.

This condo on Johnston is a truly great place to stay. The location must be the best in Victoria, as everything you could possibly want to do or see is in walking distance.



The layout of the condo is very flexible, the kitchen is brand new with excellent stainless steel appliances and plenty of cutlery and crockery etc. There is also hook up to wi fi available.



The piece de resistance is the huge corner patio which has a gas fired BBQ, is a glorious sun trap, and means all the doors and windows can be open in the summer for fresh air, with absolute security.

Family stay

I stayed here with my mom and toddler. The place was very well organized and had everything we needed. The rooms were spacious with lots of natural light, with beautiful balconies. There is an ocean view from the balcony and one bedroom which is a wonderful bonus while enjoying the patio. It is located in the heart of Victoria which makes it easy to walk and enjoy the sights. The area is very safe and their is parking available. I would return for a getaway with my husband or a family stay. Very versatile modern apartment with a heritage feeling! The host was available for questions and made us feel very welcomed.

We really enjoyed our stay. Close to great shops in the downtown core, walks along the wharf and within walking distance to Beacon Hill Park. With the vaulted ceilings and and lots of natural lighting it made this compact condo seem spacious. I particularly liked the sky light in the on suite bathroom.

Great location in the heart of heritage Victoria.

We really enjoyed our time at the "Roof-Top Terrace", a beautifully renovated heritage building. The flat is a perfect home-base to explore Victoria, within easy walking distance to the inner harbour, Chinatown and lots of local restaurants and shops. The apartment is bright with high ceilings and is very well equipped - fireplace, full modern kitchen, and, as noted, a large wrap-around deck with BBQ. This is our third time at the Roof-Top, and we'll definitely book again. Thanks for a great stay!

Super Location...definitely NOT luxury as described

Positives :

The best thing this listing has going for it is the location and parking. It really couldn't be better if you want to walk the street and see the downtown and have a car.

Living room with couch and two comfy chairs are nice although the fireplace is not easy to operate and when it did light there was not full ignition of the gas flame . For this reason we would say it really doesn't work.

Listing this as a luxury property is definitely misleading. It appears the owners have not listened to the previous reviews as the same deficits still exist.

The bed in the master is an old queen mattress on a king bed frame. The bed is hard and sags and the over size frame makes it difficult to get in and out of as you always have to remember to gauge for the size difference when getting in or out. Pillows are not comfortable, linens are cheap and definitely not luxurious.The mattress cover is extremely stained which we would not have known about but as were were asked to strip the beds ( even though we paid an $85 cleaning fee) before we left we saw the condition of the linens. Yikes , awful.

The broom is so old that it is not useable as it's permanently bent over, tea kettle is gross. WORST of all the dishwasher is so loud it cannot be used while anyone is sleeping in either room OR when anyone is in the house. It's really like a train coming down the tracks and you have to yell over it! We could not use it.

There are no ceiling fans and when the sun comes out this place is HOT with no air circulation. They do supply a dinky floor fan .....really?

The second bedroom is an office with a bed in it, no counters , closet or table, advertised as an accommodation that sleeps four, but really not private enough for two couples as there is only a half bath on the other side of the apartment for the second bedroom. It would be ok for a couple of kids.

All in all it seems like what is in the apartment are a mix mash of things just barely good enough for a students use in college and the other items seem to be left over from other tenant's occupancy. We only had 1& 1/2 rolls of toilet paper for our 5 night stay.

There is a only a small bistro table and having a meal on it is neither comfortable or roomy enough especially if you were an older person.

The amenities make this property just a good choice verses the truly excellent choice it could be with very little effort made !

Beware of really loud seagulls early in the AM !

Owner's Response: I am sorry that you had such a difficult time. The queen size bed is 2 years old and was expensive. I have purchased expensive linens and the pillows and mattress covers have all been replaced. Sometimes there is an immediate problem and it takes a couple days to remediate. I am sorry you felt that way about the kitchen - I will check into the kettle. The fireplace always takes about two minutes to come on as the natural gas flame seems to be coming from aways. Victoria gets very few hot hot days and few places have air conditioning. I am very sorry that you did not enjoy the space.

Difficult not to like this apartment

I stayed all the month of March 2016 in this apartment and enjoyed it very much. It is perfectly located, full of light, clean, well furnished and I have appreciated the fireplace very much.

The mattress in the bedroom should be verified as half of it seems to have been used more than the second half. Maybe it is because there was no rotation done.

The only noise that woke me up early in the morning was from the seagulls. Those birds are very big! Of course, they leave their business card, but there is nothing you can do against that. For this reason, I would recommend to the owner to put a parasol for the outside table for the guests who come during the summer. It is so sunny that I think there is a need for that if you eat outside.

During my stay, I noticed that the electric heating was not working except for one or two baseboards. I mentionned it to the owner before leaving. I used the fireplace to heat and give a nice atmosphere to the living room.

At the end of my stay, it became quite hot in the apartment so I had to shut all the blinds to prevent the sun from entering the apartment.

The security in the building is perfect.

I would definitely go back.
