Description

Suttons Bay House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-10)

Charming 3 bedroom/2 bath home on Suttons Bay with deck and private sandy beach with 232 feet of frontage. Very secluded, sleeps 10. Completely furnished, including grill, patio furniture, washer and dryer, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and French press, dishwasher, towels and linens. A dock, canoe, kayak, and an offshore swim raft are available for your enjoyment. Also has Wi-Fi internet access at no extra charge. No smoking or pets please.

The three bedrooms are all of good size; two have queen beds, and the third bedroom has two XL twin beds in it. All new bedding sets for 2012, new queen beds for 2013. All new flooring in 2015. Two full bath rooms with towels are included for your convenience, as well as a full size washer and dryer. All major appliances are new for 2013. An open kitchen and dining/living room area with large windows overlooking the sparkles on the water will leave you breathless!

A great waterfront home in a great location!

Take a short stroll north along the beach to the Raftshol Vineyard's Wine Tasting Room, mention Chris sent you, and the first bottle is on me! While you are there, sample their many flavorful award winning vintages.

Need to stay plugged-in while on vacation? Use our free Wi-Fi internet access.

Have a boat? Tie up to our secure mooring, and use our dock and canoe for access. Of course, the canoe is also available for guests without a boat! We also provide a kayak and an offshore swim raft.

Very secluded and private location - the north side of the property is adjacent to wooded undeveloped farm property. The house is about 150 heavily wooded yards east of M-22 - creating a pleasant and welcome buffer from the road (which is not visible from the house). The property is on the water and has direct access to the waterfront - no roads or other barriers to cross. The beach is 17 stair steps below the house/deck. As you stroll the beach, watch for the bald eagle nests in the treetops along the shoreline.

Beach conditions: Extra sand was trucked in and added to the beach in 2011 to improve the utility of the beach for kids, relaxation and enjoyment of the waterfront. As with all lakefront property, the size and sandiness/rockiness of the beach varies from year to year along our 232 feet of lake frontage, depending on the ever-changing Lake Michigan water level, winter ice, waves and storms, etc. It is typically a mixture of smooth pebbles and sand. We maintenance the beach regularly to provide the best possible conditions that these natural variations will allow. The beach also has a nice fire pit with a large sitting log for your summer bonfire parties!

Located next to a vineyard, and just 2.5 miles north of Suttons Bay, this charming home has so much to offer and couldn't have a better location or view. Aside from the 28 vineyards in Leelanau County, this home is only a few miles from the Leelanau Sands Casino, and close to local farm markets, shopping, dining, art galleries and all of the many other attractions of the picturesque Leelanau peninsula.

The area hosts many activities; including the Cherry Festival and other local festivals, arts and crafts shows, concerts in the park, casinos, wineries, the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes (a must), performances at the Interlochen Arts Academy and the Opera House; you're certain to stay as busy or as relaxed as you want to be.

Enjoy charter fishinig boats, catamaran sunset cruises, parasailing (for those who are brave), jet-ski rentals, hot-air balloon rides, our local markets, cherry picking (and other fruits depending upon the season), and hiking trails.

Looking to golf? Perfect area for that! Fantastic golf courses surround Traverse City. Want to go fishing? Look no further. Shopping? How about a large mall, an outlet mall, and amazing local shops to find that special treasure. The dining is also fabulous, and we have amazing local chefs that will prepare scrumptious meals that you`ll want to tell your friends and family about, not to mention the many restaurants with gorgeous waterfront views.

Cancellation Policy: If Renter wishes to cancel his/her reservation, reservation deposits, rents and taxes are non-refundable unless the vacancy can be filled at the same rate. Partial refunds will be made if the vacancy can be filled at a lower rate, to the extent that the total rent collected exceeds the original rate. In addition, all cancellations are subject to a $100 rebooking fee. If you must cancel your reservation, we will do our best to rebook.

Why Chris Lange chose Northern Michigan

The property was part of the Raftshol family cherry orchard when my grandparents and great-grandparents were alive. The cherry orchard has become Raftshol Vineyards, owned and operated by my Uncle Warren.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Chris,

I just wanted to say how much we all enjoyed the 'cabin'. It exceeded my expectations! I was very pleased at the contents provided. I have a week at a time share and your house certainly was as nice.

I know that you are in contact with Doug, but I just wanted to let you know my thoughts as well.

Baylake Cottage is a wonderful Up North retreat

  • 5 of 5

Chris's property is clean and well thought out, more than a cottage, this is a great home base for vacationers. Four of us were comfortable in the three bedroom and two bath setup. The kitchen is well appointed and the laundry room/back entry keeps the beach mess at the back door. But most of all, we love the private beach. We look forward to staying at Baylake Cottage again.

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is one of the best places that we have rented in our 30 plus years of our girl getaway weekends. We enjoyed the beautiful view, the quiet, the beds, and the location. We were able to tour most of the area and could return to a clean and relaxing home. Chris has thought of everything that made our stay a good one. Great appliances and furniture. We especially appreciated the utility room with the shelving to put away coolers, boxes, and other stuff. The back door with the "foot spring" was great esp. when hauling suitcases, coolers, and shopping bags. We all want one!

The Suttons Bayarea is beautiful. Shop keepers were friendly and helpful. Many good places to eat at different price ranges. Good to get away from the chains.

Great place to stay and explore!!! Julie

Everything you need and more....

  • 5 of 5

My family had an awesome time at Baylake Cottage, it was close to everything. Chris has the cottage well prepared for your visit. The weather was perfect and the sunrises were amazing down by the lake. There is plenty of room for everyone. Some of the places we went to: Sleepng Bear Dunes, Hop Lot Brewery (down the road), Wineries and Hansons Groceries has anything you forgot. There is plenty to do in this area. Enjoy your stay.

Beautiful view of the bay, quiet location with no neighbors in view, and a wonderfully kept up home. Who could ask for anything more. It was a pleasure working with Chris. Suttons Bay is always a great place for vacation.

Beautiful views and very comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This home has spectacular views of the bay! You can see the water from two of the three bedrooms along with the living room and dining room. The beach has a fire pit that we sat by each night and watched satellites move in the sky. The beds were very comfortable and it was nice to open the window at night and fall asleep to the sound of waves. The owner was very easy to work with too! There is also a new brewery within a few miles of the house called Hop Lot that has outdoor activities and lots of outdoor seating...we enjoyed this. Overall, we had a great stay!
