Our home at Lake Tahoe has been a family get away for many years. The property is within 10 miles of great skiing at NorthStar, Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley and Incline Village. In the summertime the house is just 2 miles from the lake at North Shore with access to boating, swimming or just relaxing on the beach. Plenty of fine restaurants as well as shopping in Kings Beach, Tahoe City or Incline Village.
The house is in a quiet location and abuts to the Tahoe National Forest (about 1/2 mile) walk down the street.
Great Place! Very comfortable with the HD Satellite TV and the roaring stone fireplace! Very close to golf and down to the North Shore...Hope to come back soon
We had the opportunity to enjoy a 4 night stay at Boring Manor this summer. It turned out to be perfect for 6 adults, 2 young children, and an infant. There was plenty of space for everyone, and the house was much nicer than pictures would indicate. The owners must have just recently purchased the enormous reclining sectional leather couches, which were super comfy and incredibly spacious.
The house is located down the street from fire roads that lead directly onto the Tahoe Rim Trail, which was super convenient for mountain biking or an easy hike. There is even a nice strip of forest and a creek bed out back which the kids enjoyed exploring.
Anne was very responsive by message/email. The house was well organized with instructions for everything, and check-in/out were a cinch. The house is a great value, and we hope to stay there again in the future.

Boring Manor is a wonderful house, spacious and well appointed. Many Tahoe area cabins can be pretty cramped, but this house had three large bedrooms, a very large family room/dining area and a good sized kitchen. Plenty of room for our party of 5 adults, but would have also been great with a larger group and for kids. I was a little unsure, because there are not many pictures, but rest assured each bedroom is nicely decorated and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the large recliner sofa (not pictured) and the automatic gas fireplace (all the ambiance, none of the hassle). The house in a great location. A few minutes outside of King's Beach on a quiet road. We went snow shoeing at Northstar (less than 15 minutes away) and skiing at Diamond Peak (only about 20 minutes away). The owner was very easy to work with and accommodating of our family dog! This house is a great place, and a great value. Thanks!
We returned to Boring Manor and once again had a wonderful stay! We wrote the review "Family Gathering" last summer - and our family got together again at beautiful Lake Tahoe. Since last summer, Anne has replaced the charcoal BBQ on the back deck with a new gas BBQ - which was a very nice addition. We BBQ'd some Lake Tahoe Mackinaw (lake trout) - delicious! All 7 of us returned this summer, and we again enjoyed the large dining room table both for meals and for games that went late into the night. The neighborhood is very friendly - and one night a couple from down the road dropped by to see if we had any extra marshmallows they could have so they could BBQ marshmallows with their kids. The answer was "Yes - of course!" Anne was very easy to communicate with - both when booking the cabin and during our stay when we had questions. We received our security deposit in the mail just a week after our visit. This family never knows for sure what plans will unfold for next summer - but we wouldn't be at all surprised if we returned to Boring Manor again!
We had a wonderful weekend at Boring Manor! There were 7 of us, and we were very comfortable. My wife and I had one bedroom, my wife's parents had another bedroom, and our three adult children had another bedroom (two twins and a bunk bed). The dining room table was very large and well suited for meals and games, and the large couches in the living room afforded room for everyone. The couches were so comfortable - and perfect for naps. The house is close enough to the lake that we could drive there in 5-10 minutes, but also removed enough so that it was very peaceful. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for food prep. We BBQ'd Tri Tip one night on the back deck, and there were even some charcoal briquettes there for our use - along with a BBQ starter (can to hold the briquettes while they heated up). We spent time at Kings Beach, where the water in Lake Tahoe was perfect for swimming - and the water gets deeper very gradually. We made a trip over the to the Biltmore Casino and had fun playing blackjack and video poker (pretty much broke even). The owner, Anne Carlson, was wonderful to deal with. She answered all of our questions, and she would quickly answer any question that we texted to her. After our stay, Anne mailed us a check returning our security deposit within about a week. We would definitely stay at Boring Manor again!!!
First off, Anne did a great job of communicating with us and being flexible when we needed to make a small change in our dates at the last minute.
As for the home, it was just that - a home. Everything we may have needed was there, and then some - this isn't a "rental" where the cupboards are bare.
The living room couches are super comfortable and the fireplace is amazing!
And all the comments about being close by, but just far enough out to be away from the crowds are right on. Safeway is close, but you can play in the back and have lots of room to have snowball fights or sled down from the road.
The neighbors were very nice too.
We would def stay here again.
My friends and I stayed at this lovely home when we came up a few weeks ago to run in Tough Mudder. We enjoyed the cleanliness, comfort and spaciousness not to mention the quiet and peace of the location.
However, it's now been more than 3 weeks since our stay and I just had to remind the owners for a 2nd time via email that we are waiting for the security deposit to be returned. This is nerve racking to say the least. I can recommend this house as a wonderful place to stay, fantastic for larger groups but the follow-through by the owners has room for improvement.
