Bicycle paths close by. Specialty stores, hospitals and universities are within minutes.
Local events and festivals such as Tulip festival, Winterlude, and Canada Day celebrations are all within walking distance. If you enjoy theater, ballet or concerts, the National Arts Center is also a 5 min walk away.

This was a wonderful property. It was clean and well stocked. It is amazingly close to downtown, Parliament, easy shopping, Byward Market, you name it. We had many questions, which were answered so promptly. We had a great time, in a great neighborhood, in a great home. We truly look forward to a repeat visit. We had 4 adults and 2 toddlers, and were very comforable. We highly recommend this property - unless you are competing with us to book it :). You will enjoy this one. NO negatives from us!
We certainly enjoyed our time in Ottawa. A beautiful city with so much history and culture. This VRBO is in a great location to all major attractions in Central Downtown Ottawa. We had a rental car, so venturing out was not an issue - other than parking. (Parking in Downtown Ottawa can be confusing and a bit frustrating.)
The city, however, was wonderful. We always enjoy visiting Canada: the unique architecture, the great food, and the friendly, helpful Canadians. It is always a treat! And Ottawa was no different. Make sure to visit both Parliament Hill and the Locks on the canal. A drive over to Rideau Hall is a must, along with a tour of the building. Finally, we spent a lot of time in ByWard: good places to eat and fun just to browse the booths and shops. The bread makers and fruit stands are excellent!
The property had everything for a family of four with 2 older teens. There was plenty of room to spread out, and the living space has plenty of room to read, play board games, or listen to music while lounging on the comfortable couch. All the beds were comfortable, and the property is in very good shape. We visited in July, which was much more humid than we expected. The property's ac units did a great job of keeping us comfortable at night.
The home is a 'home away from home', it's very well located with in walking distance of restaurants & markets. The owner is absolutely delightful and most helpful. We were a family of 6 travelling together made up of 3 children aged 4,6, & 12yrs, their parents & 1 senior. We appreciated the facilities provided & the little extra's which were most helpful.
It is an older house with 3 levels, not large or 'luxury class' but very comfortable & 'homey' and a delight to stay in. There are 2 flights of stairs (being on 3 levels) which would need to be considered by future renters. I would recommend the property to any family looking for accommodation in Ottawa.
