Blairsville Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6-7

If you like mountain views, then look no further. From practically every room in the cabin, you have incredible views of pastureland and mountains stretching to the sky. Don't be fooled by some cabins that use a zoom lens to showcase their view, only to arrive and find it underwhelming. You will not be disappointed!! Watch summer storms sweep across the fields, see Brasstown Bald get covered by snow in the winter, or just take in the serenity of a sunset that sets the fall foliage aglow with yellows and reds. The location is incredibly peaceful, the cabin is nestled in the woods and the sounds of songbirds will greet you every morning. Mooing cows in the adjacent field add a special touch to the overall feel.

The porch of our cabin has an average high in the low 80s, even in the middle of this brutal heat wave! The porch is in full shade and faces north, which means you can sit outside all summer in total comfort!

Please note: the stairs in the cabin are a bit steep and might not be suitable for elderly or disabled visitors.

Around the cabin: The cabin is situated on one acre, however with the fields in front of you it feels like one hundred. Walk down the stairs to the front of the property and sit on the log swing-set, roast marshmallows around the fire pit, or take one of the most picturesque walks you can imagine down the country road out front. This is not a through road, so there is little traffic that will distract you from the natural surroundings. A short walk will take you past aged barns, babbling mountain streams, and, of course, splendid views of Track Rock Valley and the Choestoe area. This road would also be perfect for bicycles or a quick jog.

Recent renovations include central heat and air, new tongue and groove wood, a brand new metal roof (sounds great when it rains) and a full renovation of the kitchen with all stainless steel appliances.

Choestoe: Choestoe is an old Indian word meaning 'Land of the Dancing Rabbits.' However, if you ask any of the locals you will know it is synonymous with one of the most beautiful areas in the North Georgia mountains. Before you even arrive at the cabin, you will know you are some place special. No matter which direction you come from, the drive up to the cabin is incredibly scenic with mountains in every direction.

Thanks so much for the "home away from home". More than just a mountain retreat, the warmth and comfort of Choestoe Hideaway is welcoming and pleasant. It was an awesome week of riding the mountains of Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. We hope to travel out this way again and will most definitely seek the comfort of your hideaway when we do.

Fall Get-away

  • 4 of 5

We took our 3 grandchildren (ages 6,13,15) for 2 nights at this property. Location is near several interesting and fun sights i.e. Brass Town Bald, waterfalls, putt-putt, etc. The property itself is not bad although it appears to be older than we anticipated. Carpet on main level is soiled and needs replacing, stairs are killers but we managed without problems. All-in-all we were satisfied with our stay and kids had a great time. Would probably not return.

Lovely cabin

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is very nice and indeed has wonderful views. You can see Brasstown Bald from the balcony. We loved the birds. The stove worked really well. We could not find many towels. We had a wonderful time, it was nice to be so close to the wonderful mountains.

loved it !

We spent two nights there and absolutely loved it. Very nice view, quite. Us and our friend have two toddlers together and there were no problem at all to accommodate. We used the extra air mattress down stairs. Just didn't get to see the bears LoL

Had fun at Choestoe Hideaway!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is nice and the only thing we were not happy about is that the cabinets in the kitchen need a really good deep cleaning. There was dried food inside the cabinets which made it very unappetizing. The stairs were really steep going up to the top floor and the carpet was a little dirty but I'm sure this is a hard thing to keep really clean due to renting it to so many different people. I know the cleaning crew is responsible for taking care of the cabin but seems they are slightly slacking on their duties. We also had to have someone bring bath cloths the first night except it was the next day before we got them. There was four of us ladies and only three bath cloths. Chis did respond promptly to our request. Other than that the cabin was great. We were able to relax and enjoy the balconies, and the view. The queen size bed in the upper bedroom was very, very comfortable but we couldn't get the TV to work. I'm sure it was something we were not doing right. The small bed on the upper level was very uncomfortable. The lady that was going to sleep there had to sleep on the sofa in the living room. The double bed on the lower level was also comfortable. There needs to be some clean up around the outside of the cabin as there was lots of trash that people had thrown off the balconies. We went to Helton Falls and the younger girls got in the water and slid down the falls. We also visited Helen Ga., and a farmers market/craft market in Blairsville. We when to Alexanders Store and found some great buys there. We ate lunch at Pappy's. It was delicious. Thanks Chris for allowing us to use your cabin. It was great and we hope to come back sometimes. Forgot to mention that the cabin was the best stocked of any place we have rented. There was toilet paper and paper towels already there plus trash and garbage bags. There was also lots of pantry items that we did not have to buy such as condiments and spices. There were plenty of pots and pans to cook with. We made breakfast every morning without any problems. The dishwasher worked great as did the washer and dryer. There was a nice microwave and coffee pot. I also noticed a blender in the cabinet but we did not use it. We wanted to sweep and mop the kitchen before we left but couldn't find a dust pan. There was a broom. The bathrooms are small but very unique. The cabin will sleep 7 people easily. You will not regret staying at this cabin. The younger girls really wanted to see a bear but no luck! LOL!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for letting us know about the food in the cabinets, that is not acceptable. We will contact the cleaning company and inform them that a deep cleaning is needed throughout the cabin, including picking up any trash outside. We depend on our renters to let us know what needs to be done at the cabin because we don't live up there and aren't able to visit very often. If you return I promise it will be much more clean!!

Choestoe Hideaway is a charming cabin on a hillside overlooking Track Rock Valley, Brasstown Bald, and the tallest mountains in the state of Georgia. At 2100 feet of elevation, the cabin puts you up in the clouds where the breezes are fresh and cool, even in the hot Georgia summers.

When you go on vacation, you want to be close to everything, and that is exactly what you get when you stay in this cabin. A short drive will put you in Blairsville, Helen, Young Harris, or Hiawassee. The Hideaway is literally surrounded by mountains, meaning no matter what direction you head off in, you will be greeted by the beauty and grandeur of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Literally on the edge of the Chattahoochee National Forest, the cabin is nestled back in the woods while still affording spectacular views of Brasstown Bald and the tallest mountains in Georgia. Vogel State Park is only 4 miles away, and you can be hiking the Appalachian Trail within 10 minutes of the driveway.

  • 3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 7
  • Master - 1 queen
    Downstairs - 1 double
    Smaller - 1 twin/ single
  • There are three bedrooms, the master has a queen and its own bathroom. Also on the top floor is a smaller bedroom with a twin size bed and its own private porch (this porch can only be accessed from the bedroom and not from outside of the cabin). This bedroom would be perfect for one adult or a child. Downstairs there is a third bedroom, it has a double and its own large porch with spectacular views of the mountains. The bathroom is on the main floor, and would require a walk up the stairs. On the main floor, there is a large sofa, a sleeper sofa, and a very large inflatable air mattress. We used to have sleeper sofas but they weren't very comfortable at all, so this air mattress is much more comfortable for our guests. This cabin affords great privacy because there are three separate floors, which helps to isolate the noise.

The cabin includes everything you will need, just show up with your clothes and food. We use it often, and therefore it has amenities like paper towels, spices, sugar, flour, many different cooking utensils, a coffee grinder and a nice coffee maker, plus high end appliances. There is a 42' HDTV with Showtime and HBO, there is a Wii video game system that also has Netflix Streaming, giving you access to over 10,000 movies and TV shows. There is a propane grill on the porch, and you will have trouble finding a more beautiful place to grill. There is wireless high speed Internet that works throughout the property...sit on the swing and check your email! There is also a hammock, firepit, and children's swing-set. To preserve living space, the stairs in the cabin are rather steep and might not be suitable for elderly renters. We have rented to many people and never had a complaint, but feel free to ask if you are concerned.
