Overview

Blairsville Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6-7

If you like mountain views, then look no further. From practically every room in the cabin, you have incredible views of pastureland and mountains stretching to the sky. Don't be fooled by some cabins that use a zoom lens to showcase their view, only to arrive and find it underwhelming. You will not be disappointed!! Watch summer storms sweep across the fields, see Brasstown Bald get covered by snow in the winter, or just take in the serenity of a sunset that sets the fall foliage aglow with yellows and reds. The location is incredibly peaceful, the cabin is nestled in the woods and the sounds of songbirds will greet you every morning. Mooing cows in the adjacent field add a special touch to the overall feel.

The porch of our cabin has an average high in the low 80s, even in the middle of this brutal heat wave! The porch is in full shade and faces north, which means you can sit outside all summer in total comfort!

Please note: the stairs in the cabin are a bit steep and might not be suitable for elderly or disabled visitors.

Around the cabin: The cabin is situated on one acre, however with the fields in front of you it feels like one hundred. Walk down the stairs to the front of the property and sit on the log swing-set, roast marshmallows around the fire pit, or take one of the most picturesque walks you can imagine down the country road out front. This is not a through road, so there is little traffic that will distract you from the natural surroundings. A short walk will take you past aged barns, babbling mountain streams, and, of course, splendid views of Track Rock Valley and the Choestoe area. This road would also be perfect for bicycles or a quick jog.

Recent renovations include central heat and air, new tongue and groove wood, a brand new metal roof (sounds great when it rains) and a full renovation of the kitchen with all stainless steel appliances.

Choestoe: Choestoe is an old Indian word meaning 'Land of the Dancing Rabbits.' However, if you ask any of the locals you will know it is synonymous with one of the most beautiful areas in the North Georgia mountains. Before you even arrive at the cabin, you will know you are some place special. No matter which direction you come from, the drive up to the cabin is incredibly scenic with mountains in every direction.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks so much for the "home away from home". More than just a mountain retreat, the warmth and comfort of Choestoe Hideaway is welcoming and pleasant. It was an awesome week of riding the mountains of Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. We hope to travel out this way again and will most definitely seek the comfort of your hideaway when we do.

Beautiful and Comfy!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed for 4 days in mid-November, and the property and surrounding area was absolutely beautiful! I've lived in Florida for the last 13 years, so seeing the seasons change was something extremely special and rare. The kitchen and bathrooms was stocked with almost everything we needed, and a Dollar General was just 3 miles away for anything else. The cabin was spacious, clean, and very homey. Was located not far from town, and about 15-20 mins away from a couple state parks. Really enjoyed my experience and already plan to go again in February and in May.

Thanks for such an amazing time!

Our absolute new favorite stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our family has been visiting the Blood Mountain area for nearly 10 years and this was our first stay at Choestoe Hideaway - and it will definitely not be our last. In fact, it might be our ONLY go-to rental from now on. The lovely cabin is centrally located from common day trips to Dahlonega and Helen and is just a few minutes drive from Brasstown, Vogel State Park and Blairsville. The location is not remote for those who are looking for a complete retreat from civilization, and some space to explore on site - but's private enough where you can feel quite secluded and enjoy an evening fire without hearing another soul.

The view described by other reviewers truly is spectacular and our son thoroughly enjoyed the constant sight if grazing cows across the way. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots, pans and utensils (we were able to make a complete Thanksgiving feast) and we much appreciated having access to a washer & dryer.

Our only regret is that we forgot to sign the guest book - but we'll be back!

Very lovely place to stay in the Georgia mountains! Incredible views ! Was very clean with accurate description of listing. Hope to visit again! Would be concerned about steepness of steps for an elderly couple!

Choestoe Hideaway is a charming cabin on a hillside overlooking Track Rock Valley, Brasstown Bald, and the tallest mountains in the state of Georgia. At 2100 feet of elevation, the cabin puts you up in the clouds where the breezes are fresh and cool, even in the hot Georgia summers.

When you go on vacation, you want to be close to everything, and that is exactly what you get when you stay in this cabin. A short drive will put you in Blairsville, Helen, Young Harris, or Hiawassee. The Hideaway is literally surrounded by mountains, meaning no matter what direction you head off in, you will be greeted by the beauty and grandeur of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Literally on the edge of the Chattahoochee National Forest, the cabin is nestled back in the woods while still affording spectacular views of Brasstown Bald and the tallest mountains in Georgia. Vogel State Park is only 4 miles away, and you can be hiking the Appalachian Trail within 10 minutes of the driveway.

  • There are three bedrooms, the master has a queen and its own bathroom. Also on the top floor is a smaller bedroom with a twin size bed and its own private porch (this porch can only be accessed from the bedroom and not from outside of the cabin). This bedroom would be perfect for one adult or a child. Downstairs there is a third bedroom, it has a double and its own large porch with spectacular views of the mountains. The bathroom is on the main floor, and would require a walk up the stairs. On the main floor, there is a large sofa, a sleeper sofa, and a very large inflatable air mattress. We used to have sleeper sofas but they weren't very comfortable at all, so this air mattress is much more comfortable for our guests. This cabin affords great privacy because there are three separate floors, which helps to isolate the noise.

Notes:
The cabin includes everything you will need, just show up with your clothes and food. We use it often, and therefore it has amenities like paper towels, spices, sugar, flour, many different cooking utensils, a coffee grinder and a nice coffee maker, plus high end appliances. There is a 42' HDTV with Showtime and HBO, there is a Wii video game system that also has Netflix Streaming, giving you access to over 10,000 movies and TV shows. There is a propane grill on the porch, and you will have trouble finding a more beautiful place to grill. There is wireless high speed Internet that works throughout the property...sit on the swing and check your email! There is also a hammock, firepit, and children's swing-set. To preserve living space, the stairs in the cabin are rather steep and might not be suitable for elderly renters. We have rented to many people and never had a complaint, but feel free to ask if you are concerned.
