Entertain yourself hiking in the woods, following one of the many deer paths; swimming in the crystal clear water of the lake; building sandcastles with the beautiful sugary white sand; walking north to the Little Point Sable Lighthouse and climbing to its top; building a fire on the large private beach and sleeping under the stars.

Also enjoy golfing at 4 local courses; horseback riding at Rainbow Ranch; wine tastings at nearby Fox Barn Winery (www.foxbarnwinery.com); browsing quaint shops and galleries in Pentwater; touring the Country Dairy Farm; biking on the Hart-Monteque trail; tubing and a playground at Stony Lake; visiting White Pine Village in Ludington, Great Adventure Amusement and Water Parks in Muskegon, and the JJRanch in New Era.
Phone is available for local and domestic long distance calls. Cell service is intermittent at the cottage, but service is generally better outside on the driveway.
A little slice of heaven. My wife and I spent a lovely week here. As advertised, the beach is private, and if you want (and we did frequently) Little Sable Point Lighthouse is just a stroll down the beach. The surrounding woods and roads offer a nice break from the beach, and we enjoyed our walk past a peach orchard. The accommodations were just right, too. No unpleasant surprises, which we'd run into with other rentals. The nearest grocery is a little far away, so stock up before you arrive. There are, however, great roadside markets closeby that sell fresh produce and baked goods. You'll be hard pressed to find better pies! We'll definitely be coming back.
We rented this cottage for a week last July and it was everything we wanted! The most incredible part by far was the huge private beach. My two kids absolutely loved playing in the sand and swimming in the lake. The water was clear and shallow and we spent most of the week camped out down there, occasionally taking walks to the nearby lighthouse. The cottage itself was very comfortable/clean and fairly updated. There was ample room for the five of us. Another big plus was the long deck with views of the water. We didn't end up leaving the property that much except for a night of dinner, mini golf, and go-karts in Silver Lake. If you are looking for a lot of "fine dining" out, this is probably not the place, but if you want a beautiful pristine beach and woods for hiking, then you'll be quite happy here. One thing to know: it is pretty remote, so be prepared for a big dose of "urban escape."
I would definitely recommend this place!!
