If you’re interested in exploring the “green” side of the Green Mountain State, this solar-powered geodesic dome is a completely different Vermont experience. Of course, you’ll still have privacy and the quiet serenity of nature surrounding you. Four downhill ski areas will still be within a forty-minute drive, and the Craftsbury Nordic Center will be ten minutes away with its miles of cross-country skiing.

In the summer, you’ll be a short distance from lakes, rivers, the Canadian border, seven golf courses, the Long Trail for hiking, road biking, mountain biking, fishing, boating, and any outdoor sport you can imagine. Stowe, St. Johnsbury, and Newport, Vermont are all just a short drive away.

Everything we could have hoped for and more!

  • 5 of 5

Our short stay at the dome was fantastic. The entire property is well maintained, unique, and great. Our two year old son loved walking around the property picking red raspberries, blueberries, and cherry tomatoes. The domes feels very spacious and has EVERYTHING you could need in it.

The location is remote and cell service is spotty so be prepared beforehand with directions to all of the places you would like to visit. Internet was perfect at the dome however so you can get all your directions before you leave for the day.

We visited, Hill Farmstead Brewery, The Long Trail, Stowe, and more. All places were within an hr drive or less and the dome.

I hope to make a return in the future!

Wonderful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This property is not only interesting/quirky/unique, it's also a wonderful place to enjoy a weekend. Our two dogs exhausted themselves running the property -- plenty of room for them to roam, chase critters, and play with each other. Our 16-month old child also had a ball. She roamed around, ate berries off the bushes (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries abound), and chased grasshoppers until she too tuckered herself out. My wife and I enjoyed the views, the scenic walks around the property, outdoor camp fires, sunning on the deck, and warming by the fire in the evenings. It's a rural setting, but we managed a day trip (<30 minute drive) to Newport, a walkable New England town on a lake with a few restaurants and a walk-up ice cream window near the feed store. The owners, Bill and Terry are relaxed, easy, and very responsive if you need anything. Highly recommend!

A lovely time in a lovely place

  • 5 of 5

The Dome was a lovely experience. Sunny and cool when we opened the upper windows. Many interesting and fun features, don't want to give them away because the surprise is nice.

Also found our hosts very helpful but discreet too.

Great views and cozy place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful stay at the dome. Very comfortable and nice. We picked berries on the property for breakfast. Our kids totally enjoyed learning chess with the large size chess set. We were able to get to canoeing, kayaking and hiking within about 1/2 hour reach. Beautiful views.

A wonderful return trip to the Dome!

  • 5 of 5

This was my second visit to the Amazing Solar Dome, and it was once again amazing as advertised! It was for a long weekend with another couple, this time late fall (last time it was a summer trip). We had a terrific time! The place is so spacious and comfortable, with super views of the valley. While the last time we stayed at the Dome the entire time, this time we ventured out for daytrips to the surrounding communities- it's a great place to just hang around at or go out and about, which makes it perfect! Bill's a great host, it's a wonderful place, and I highly recommend it for a vacation!

Beautiful home surrounded by nature.

This was exactly the place we were looking for so that we could take our dogs on vacation with us. They had a great time running around the beautiful, open space.
