This is my mother's second home. She enjoys her other home in Clemmons, NC. I am a local Tampa Realtor with Keller Williams South Tampa and a member of the Greater Tampa Association of Realtors.
Leslie Sibbitt purchased this cottage in 2007
My mother wanted to have a home in Tampa so she could be near me. She lives in North Carolina part of the year near my sister.
This home offers a peaceful, secure and stylish setting, yet is just minutes away from everything Tampa Bay has to offer.
Very pleased with our stay at this cozy little cottage! Quiet neighborhood, close to downtown and good eats. The cottage itself was clean, well stocked and so peaceful to relax and enjoy our stay. Highly recommend and will definitely be back to enjoy the peacefulness of this wonderful cottage!
Owner was very pleasant and helpful. We definitely will return. Kitchen was fully stocked and easy to work in. Loved the outdoor area and screened in seating. Good, secure parking for our two cars.
We are a middle-aged German/Swiss couple that stayed 56 nights (Mar/Apr) in this lovely cottage. It sticks to its Property Description and we can only reiterate what has been already aptly expressed in some of the positive reviews below: Well-kept and situated in a nice, quiet neighborhood, this is a comfortable and cozy home that delights you with a very pretty garden and that comes with all the amenities that make for a pleasant stay.
Downtown Tampa and major highways (e.g. I-275, I-4) are within a few miles' distance. While Tampa’s touristic value may be somewhat limited, it is easy to get away and reach the exquisite beaches of St. Pete or Pass-a-grille (35 mins) or visit State Parks near Hillsborough River or Weeki Wachee (35 mins and 60 mins, respectively) for hiking and canoeing.
If we came back to Tampa, we would not hesitate for a moment to choose this accommodation again.
Three of us shared this house during a Christmas visit to relatives who live in South Tampa. We loved the location near the Hillsborough River in a pretty neighborhood. Easy to find and return to. Everything we needed and more - tons of towels, for example.
Decorated beautifully and very clean. Lovely screened in porch with fountain outside. GORGEOUS huge Angel Trumpet bush over six feet tall by back door. The night-time scent of the peaceful garden was intoxicating. The house is in a very quiet area. The beds were great, too, with the softest sheets and comforters. Bedrooms had great light control. Rooms had ceiling fans. Loved the huge, huge shower.
Planning on renting this place again when we're back to visit family!
I had an amazing stay at this cozy cottage in Tampa, my stay was for 40 days. It was centrally located close to everything like the airport, mall, stadium, downtown, SoHo area, and I-275. The owners keep it cozy, the house's décor and out door landscaping offer a serene escape from the busy city. I enjoyed watching something new bloom weekly as I sat outside each morning enjoying the birds and listening to the sounds of the water fountain. The property was well maintained and the owner was responsive when I had questions. Of note, the continuous hot water supply which never ran out, and generous supply of towels and amenities provided by the owner added to the already comfortable stay. I highly recommend this location as a vacation stay to anyone who wants to enjoy Tampa.
Generally speaking we were very disappointed with this advertised as handicap accessible property, for indeed it was not what we expected or had been led to believe. In fact, it was only because we had brought with us, ramps that my wife even able to enter/exit the cottage. Also, contrary to what the photos implied the bathroom was not sufficiently large or wide enough to easily manipulate my wife's scooter as the toilet was tucked into a small alcove and entry to the shower had a 4" wide and 5" high step which presented serious problems for a person with mobility problems, as there were only to two short safety bars located out of reach for a small handicapped person. For the two months of our stay, this was ongoing issue of great concern. And although the cottage was clean and well appointed, it is hidden down a narrow ally way and difficult to enter with a large van. We attempted to contact the owner's reps but never heard from them. Advertisement on this site and indeed, across thef vbro.com website needs to be made more specific and in conformity with the US law concerning accommodation suggested or recommended for people with disabilities. We had considered returning north during our first week, but the investment we had made in renting the property and the poor weather up north, dissuaded us from doing so. All & all, a most disappointing experience.
The 2.5 mile scenic River Walk is about 3/4 of a mile from this home. Rent bikes or walk down this beautiful pedestrian path along the Hillsborough River. It will take you right through downtown Tampa and past the Glazer Children's Museum, The Straz Performing Arts Center and the Tampa Museum of Art.
