Hawaii Tax ID: W23952111-01 Our Kuau Plaza condo is a perfect location for surfers, whaler watchers and beach lovers. ON NON tourist upcountry side of Maui we are located on the beautiful Hana Hwy with condo facing beach. Located 150 yards from the beach, facing the ocean which you can see from lanai and living room. Let the crashing waves of the beach put you to sleep every night and wake up to the surf and the birds. Our condo is our second home as our grandchildren and daughter and son in law live in Haiku. So it is a very special place to us that is inviting warm and we ask that you treat it like your own home. We are in a great location for all the private beaches - yet close to great snorkeling, surfing, windsurfing, hiking, horseback riding, zip-lines and great dining at Mama's Fish House (which is literally 30 second walk in front of condo)and Paia Town. Great local artist are featured in Paia and Haiku. It is a special place that we love and hope you will to. If you want a local experience and not the tourist experience this is your place.

Just wanted to send you a special note telling you how much my daughter and I enjoyed your condo in Maui. It was the perfect setting for a very relaxed vacation. The location and layout really met our laid back style, and everything we needed was there. It was just perfect!!! Thanks for offering such a great getaway condo. Claire
Martha's condo was a perfect choice for our vacation. Located on the beautiful, resort-free side of the island, it was quiet with a lovely view and a big yard for my 8-yr-old son to play in. A gate leads to a path to the beach. It's close to the road to Hana and just up the road from down-town Paia where you will find lovely shops and delicious food. The condo had everything we needed and more including beach chairs and snorkels. Martha's housekeeper was available if we had any questions and the condo caretaker was on site each morning. Definitely splurge on a meal at Mama's Fish House - it's a very special place.
Thank you Martha for sharing your lovely home!
We recently stayed at this nice condo for over a month. Close to Paia, within a short distance from the airport, shopping, amazing beaches, farmer's markets, restaurants, the condo is easily accessible to the beautiful lush areas of Kula, Hana Highway adventures and the fun activities around Kihei or Lahaina. The condo is amply equipped with anything to make your stay comfortable. Martha, the owner is a joy to work with..so helpful, kind and accommodating! The condo is great but the condo complex lacks an adequate grill or picnic area and there is one parking spot assigned to each condo and no parking for guests.
Great vacations are like treasure chests. You can open them anytime to see and remember the sparkle of that experience.
My vacation in Kuau was this: a shining jewel I'll treasure forever. Having lived in Maui, I was thrilled to come back to visit old friends and familiar places, but when I walked into this breezy ocean dream house by Mama's Fish House, I knew I'd come home. The white tile floors, terra cotta linen couches and ocean breezes through the white gauze curtains give it a mediterranean feel that is at once welcoming and soothing.
After a long day of travel, my weary back was happy as goldilocks on the queen size bed. Everything I needed was right there -extra pillows, blankets, a roomy closet for my clothes -even beach closet with snorkels, fins and beach chairs.
The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with must have amenities like sea salt/pepper/oil/tea.
There are little touches to the furnishings that let you know the owner carved out a work of art in the process of bringing this vacation rental to life. The caretaker is a phone call away in this turnkey vacation rental and was quick to respond to my questions.
The piece de resistance is the flowering tree mural growing on the wall reaching towards the inevitable ocean that beckons just past the picture windows. Painted by an up and coming artist and friend of the owner who I think we will hear from in the future,
this mural creates a whimsical landscape around the living room that make this vacation rental unforgettable.
Well, it's time to put the memory back in the treasure chest for someone else to find. I hope to be back to Maui and this Kuau hidden jewel very soon.
This is my first experience with VRBO but will not be the last.
Here is a short review of my first experience.
There was some communication issues before I arrived that for the most part got squared away. When I arrived the check in process was so simple, no hassles, no worrying about being there at a certain time. Check out was simple too.. Just lock the place up and roll. There was a house keeping issue that Martha took care of right away and even refunded my first night for it. I was not expecting that and it was a huge relief considering how expensive Maui is in general and showed me that Martha is about that customer service life.
I shared the condo with my brother who slept on the big bed in the bedroom, my buddy, who slept on the sofabed in the living room (once we figured out how to open the legs haha) and I slept on my own airmattress that I happened to have, on the floor. More than enough room for us to be comfortable. The lanai is cool and privateish at night. It does get hot in there but i would recommend opening the windows in the bedroom if you can figure out how to. The bathroom was clean and there was plenty of items for us to use if need be.. We even left some items for others to use. The beach supplies were not used this time. but would be awesome if we had more time.
There is a bus line at Kuau Store right down the street and only a few min walk to Paia town just remember to check the website first and that they are usually 20 mins late and only come once a hour or 2... . I lived in Maui for almost a year so i can can vouch this rental is simply amazing for the price and location. You are not on in oceanfront resort or anything and the three flight walk up the stairs might be bad for some.
I knew what I was getting into before I booked SO if you are looking for the value for your money while NOT staying in some shabby run down area, then stay here.
P.S. The view of Haleakala from the front door is fantastic way to start the morning.
This condo is right in the Paia area and a walk to the best food you can imagine at Mama's Fish House. It's clean and has everything you'll need. We weren't used to the no AC in Hawaii, but the fans helped for sure! Also note, we had a weather issue deter us a day later than we'd booked and the owners refunded us, which we were NOT expecting. Delightful to work with. You'll love it!
Condo is in good condition and was very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Ocean view from balcony is pretty limited, but you aren't paying ocean view price either. Access is easy with key in lockbox. No a/c, but comfortable with ceiling fans in January. Nice unit if want to be in Paia area. Lots of places to eat in town. Be sure to explore Mana market in town for food. Turtles on beach one mile to east.
Minutes away from world famous JAWS and steps away from world famous Ho'okipa Beach.
