Hawaii Tax ID: W23952111-01 Our Kuau Plaza condo is a perfect location for surfers, whaler watchers and beach lovers. ON NON tourist upcountry side of Maui we are located on the beautiful Hana Hwy with condo facing beach. Located 150 yards from the beach, facing the ocean which you can see from lanai and living room. Let the crashing waves of the beach put you to sleep every night and wake up to the surf and the birds. Our condo is our second home as our grandchildren and daughter and son in law live in Haiku. So it is a very special place to us that is inviting warm and we ask that you treat it like your own home. We are in a great location for all the private beaches - yet close to great snorkeling, surfing, windsurfing, hiking, horseback riding, zip-lines and great dining at Mama's Fish House (which is literally 30 second walk in front of condo)and Paia Town. Great local artist are featured in Paia and Haiku. It is a special place that we love and hope you will to. If you want a local experience and not the tourist experience this is your place.

Just wanted to send you a special note telling you how much my daughter and I enjoyed your condo in Maui. It was the perfect setting for a very relaxed vacation. The location and layout really met our laid back style, and everything we needed was there. It was just perfect!!! Thanks for offering such a great getaway condo. Claire
If you want to spend 1 night in Paia and go to Mamas fish house then this is the place for you. Any longer than 1 night and you might be a little disappointed. The condo, for the most part, is true to its listing: all necessary amenities were included, it was clean (though the building itself and the kitchen built ins were quite run down), comfortable and relatively spacious (can sleep up to 4!). There really wasn't much of an ocean view, but the access to the private beach was easy and convenient. Two other things worth mentioning to those contemplating a stay here is that (1) the bedroom is in the front of the unit and subject to loud traffic from Hana Highway and (2) the tub and shower unit are not suitable for anyone taller than 5 foot - I had to crouch down just to get my hair wet (but the water pressure was amazing!!!)
All in all, an ok stay. Check in/out was easy and convenient, communication was 5 stars, the bed was really comfortable. Had we only stayed 1 night this rental would have been closer to perfect
We really liked the layout of this place. It feels big and homey and airy. The kitchen is well equipped with appliances and cookware. We used the beach chairs, cooler and beach towels provided. Having a laundry at the complex was great after a couple of weeks of traveling. There is an organic market, Mana Market right in Paia and a great general store almost next door. We had their poke and papaya lemonade for lunch. Really good. The Fish Market on the corner in Paia provided excellent fried fish at competitive prices. Ho'okipa is right up the road as is a nice beach for small children. We would return.
Kuau, just down the highway from Paia, was a convenient location to explore Maui's North shore, to end a drive around the west side and to take off for our adventure to Hanna. We were easily able to access the condo with a code lock containing the key, and had all the information in plenty of time. This condo is very comfortable and clean. It is an end unit on the 3rd floor, which we really liked, but important to know if you have difficulty with stairs. The complex exterior was a bit outdated, but has a nice big lawn that is well manicured and pleasant. The lanai had a nice view facing towards the ocean (peak a boo view through other residences and trees). The complex is right on the highway, so we could hear traffic noise from the bedroom, though it died down by the time we were going to bed, and it didn't affect our sleep. The interior is attractive, has tasteful and comfortable furniture, and the bed is quite comfortable. We really appreciated the beach chairs and cooler there for our use. They also have other beach stuff we didn't use. It is a short walk (a couple minutes) to a beautiful little beach, and Mama's Fish House, which was amazing but very expensive. We loved the Kuau Store, which is a 5 minute walk up the highway. They have a great deli, espresso stand, small grocery, and the best poke we had on the island for a very reasonable price. We appreciated the location, price and comfort and would definitely stay here again if traveling to Maui's North Shore.
Martha's condo was a perfect choice for our vacation. Located on the beautiful, resort-free side of the island, it was quiet with a lovely view and a big yard for my 8-yr-old son to play in. A gate leads to a path to the beach. It's close to the road to Hana and just up the road from down-town Paia where you will find lovely shops and delicious food. The condo had everything we needed and more including beach chairs and snorkels. Martha's housekeeper was available if we had any questions and the condo caretaker was on site each morning. Definitely splurge on a meal at Mama's Fish House - it's a very special place.
Thank you Martha for sharing your lovely home!
We recently stayed at this nice condo for over a month. Close to Paia, within a short distance from the airport, shopping, amazing beaches, farmer's markets, restaurants, the condo is easily accessible to the beautiful lush areas of Kula, Hana Highway adventures and the fun activities around Kihei or Lahaina. The condo is amply equipped with anything to make your stay comfortable. Martha, the owner is a joy to work with..so helpful, kind and accommodating! The condo is great but the condo complex lacks an adequate grill or picnic area and there is one parking spot assigned to each condo and no parking for guests.
Great vacations are like treasure chests. You can open them anytime to see and remember the sparkle of that experience.
My vacation in Kuau was this: a shining jewel I'll treasure forever. Having lived in Maui, I was thrilled to come back to visit old friends and familiar places, but when I walked into this breezy ocean dream house by Mama's Fish House, I knew I'd come home. The white tile floors, terra cotta linen couches and ocean breezes through the white gauze curtains give it a mediterranean feel that is at once welcoming and soothing.
After a long day of travel, my weary back was happy as goldilocks on the queen size bed. Everything I needed was right there -extra pillows, blankets, a roomy closet for my clothes -even beach closet with snorkels, fins and beach chairs.
The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with must have amenities like sea salt/pepper/oil/tea.
There are little touches to the furnishings that let you know the owner carved out a work of art in the process of bringing this vacation rental to life. The caretaker is a phone call away in this turnkey vacation rental and was quick to respond to my questions.
The piece de resistance is the flowering tree mural growing on the wall reaching towards the inevitable ocean that beckons just past the picture windows. Painted by an up and coming artist and friend of the owner who I think we will hear from in the future,
this mural creates a whimsical landscape around the living room that make this vacation rental unforgettable.
Well, it's time to put the memory back in the treasure chest for someone else to find. I hope to be back to Maui and this Kuau hidden jewel very soon.
Minutes away from world famous JAWS and steps away from world famous Ho'okipa Beach.
