You'll be renting our retirement home. We are northerners who are getting tired of the long winters and short summers. We are very active people. We enjoy outdoor activities and own a small farm with a couple of horses, a goat, dogs and cats. Our land is filled with Maple trees and in March you'll find us tapping trees to make maple syrup. We are a couple of years from retirement and can't transfer down to Tampa at this time. We hope you truly enjoy your stay.
The Owner purchased this house in 2009
Being active, Dunedin offers all that we want to stay busy. We love to kayak, boat, fish, swim, bike and walk. When we found Dunedin accidently a couple of years ago, we knew we were coming back! When we found the house to buy we knew we were set for life. It is so close to so many different venues it was to hard to pass up, even though we were not ready to move.
Our house is fully furnished and kept immaculately clean. Our neighbors are friendly, but you can choose to stay to yourself because the backyard is completely fenced in and secluded. The house is located close enough to everything, but out of the tourist congestion.
My husband and our two dogs, Toby and Sidney spent seven wonderful months in this home. The home is incredibly clean with wonderful tiled floors. My dogs would say the best part was the fenced yard!
Yard had three fruit trees and plenty of wildlife. I had a close encounter with an owl when I went out one night; amazing! Lots of cute little frogs and lizards too!
Neighborhood was very safe and close walking distance to Publix, Walgreens. Dollar General and a few good restaurants. Crickateers pub is in a strip mall, but when you go inside it feels like you are in England. Great food and good prices.
Very close by is Honeymoon Island. Pass is included with the rental. Downtown Dunedin is just a couple of miles away; good restaurants and shops. Amazing views!
This is a great area to visit all that Central and Western Florida have to offer; we made many weekend trips to Disney World.
We would highly recommend this property.
I had the privilege to stay in this wonderful, cozy home for three months while working in the area. I spent most of my evenings riding the cute bike with a basket (provided) to the Causeway just minutes away to watch the absolutely breathtaking gulf sunsets. On the weekends I would ride my bike just a tad further to Honeymoon Island National Park and relax on the gorgeous beaches with the crystal clear water. A couple times I even rented a kayak from the Causeway rental place and kayaked to what felt like my own personal island - Caladesi Island which has previously been ranked the top beach in the country (including Hawaii)! The house is extremely clean, neat and organized with an abundance of towels and linens. I was worried about the kitchen going in but quickly put at ease when I realized all of the essential "tools" were available - pots, pans, strainer, dishes, blender, glasses, bowls, knives, various utensils, can opener, etc. Being that I was a 25 year old girl living alone in a house in an area I was not used to, I was a little nervous at first but after talking with the owner I felt more confident. Then after I arrived I was very warmly welcomed by the neighbors who seemed to look after me and make sure I felt comfortable in their neighborhood. If I ever forgot something from the grocery store, Walgreens was a 3 minute walk away. Also if you want to experience the small town life then Downtown Dunedin is just 2 miles away - you HAVE to try the amazing ice cream place on the corner!! That became my Friday night treat! To work off those ice cream indulgences, the well-known Pinellas Trail is just across the street from the house - I would go on long bike rides often and always felt safe (and it's well maintained). Quick 20 min drive is a town called Tarpon Springs with the BEST Greek food - I especially loved Mikonos - YUM! Also, if its rainy or you just want do some shopping/ catch a movie Westfield Countryside mall is just a 10 minute drive down the road - brand new restaurants including B.J's Restaurant and Brewhouse, Red Robin, and Grimaldi's Pizzeria. Plus, a new 12-screen movie theatre and a wonderful shopping collection - Dillard's, Express, Macy's, Chico's, Forever 21, etc. I have only been back (Maryland) for a few weeks and I often find myself thinking about the palm trees, bike rides to the beach with the gorgeous blue water and the absolutely beautiful sunsets. I stayed from April to July and I hope to stay again for vacation!
