This Veranda condominium at Stoneybrook Golf & Country Club is on the second level of a 2-story building and has a lovely view of the 7th tee. There are nine-foot ceilings, bedroom and living room fans, 2 screened-in porches, and 2 full bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, and the guest room has 2 twin beds. Recently, a state-of-the-art inflatable queen sized Intex mattress with electric pump has been added. The condo is spacious, peaceful, and beautifully furnished. A single car garage is included. Broadband Internet and wi-fi are now included in the rental price.
THE CONDOMINIUM MUST BE RENTED FOR AT LEAST ONE MONTH. The rental includes temporary membership at the Arthur Hills designed golf course for a nominal transfer fee ($250 plus tax). This membership allows full use of the golf course, driving range, practice greens, heated pools, hard-tru lighted tennis courts, and the recently renovated fitness center. The clubhouse was renovated in the Fall of 2008, and your membership provides full access to the gourmet dining room.

Stoneybrook is a gated community, and this condo is a convenient 8 minute walk to the club house, main pool, fitness center, and tennis courts. In addition a private heated pool and tennis court are available for the group of Veranda condos, and these facilities are only a 3-4 minute walk from the condominium. The community is well-maintained with sidewalks and roads that pass lakes, beautiful foliage, and wildlife habitats. Walking and bicycling are popular activities.
Sarasota is noted for its wonderful year round weather, fine restaurants, proximity to the beautiful white-sand beaches of Siesta key and Longboat Key, and for its strong support of the arts. Sarasota has its own opera company, symphony, and ballet company. The Van Wezel performing arts center regularly schedules world class entertainment.

His wife still works at home as a Suzuki piano teacher, and she enjoys most of the same activities when time allows.

We recently sold a ski condominium in Northern Maine, and this seemed to be an excellent time to purchase a condo in Florida that we could use from time to time to enjoy warmer weather during the winter months. Moreover, the off-season months are generally temperate in Florida and will provide an opportunity to enjoy all the amenities that Stoneybrook offers in a less crowded setting.
Ready access to golf, tennis, swimming, a beautiful beach on Siesta Key, as well as all the activities that Sarasota affords--shopping, cultural activities, restaurants.
My wife and I have just returned from an excellent month's vacation in this unit.
This was our 5th visit to Stoneybrook in 8 years (we have never vacationed anywhere else in the US or elsewhere in the world more than once) so you may assume we love the Stoneybrook complex and the surrounding area.
We always rent at Stoneybrook for the month of October as - in addition to the excellent Arthur Hills course on site - the temporary membership arrangements provided by Stoneybrook allow us easy and low cost access to approximately 40 other quality golf courses around the area which participate in the local 'reciprocals' programme. This includes gems such as the Stadium course at TPC Prestancia, the Gary Player designed East and West Courses at Laurel Oaks, the Lakes and Champions Courses at Palm Aire to name but a few within 10 miles and within a 30 mile radius other famous courses such as Riverwood, Heron Creek and Bobcat Trail - all providing a range of tees which can accommodate the very different levels of skill (and ambition) of both men and women.
During these 5 vacations we have rented 4 different condo units at Stoneybrook and this 'Veranda' unit was undoubtedly the best for a variety of reasons.
With a lanai at the front as well as the rear this was the most spacious unit in terms of floor space and the vaulted ceilings contribute further to this feeling of space. Also, having the use of a large single garage for our rental car (out of the sun and somewhere secure and convenient to store our golf clubs when not being used) was an even greater benefit than we had imagined.
The unit is well provided with comfortable furnishings and more than sufficient kitchenware to not only cook full meals for ourselves but, on several occasions, to host pre or post 'dinner' drinks with our regular social group of up 4 other couples from our home area who are also renting units on this complex.
It must however be admitted that the very wide choice of reasonably priced good quality restaurants in the area meant that 'dining out' rather than 'cooking in' was the norm for most of us !
All interactions with the owner were very helpful and effective, with even small issues being dealt with promptly.
All in all an excellent experience and one we look forward to repeating in the future
