Why Eva Vanneste chose Antigua Guatemala

I bought this property in 2002 as my home. I recently moved back to the UK but didn’t want to sell the house as I visit regularly and like everyone here still love Antigua so started to rent it out as a vacation property.

What makes this house unique

The property is really close to the centre of Antigua and in walking distance to all the main sights, restaurants and night life. The house is elegantly decorated yet still extremely cozy and comfortable. The area is quiet, secure and relaxing. The house is very well equipped with all modern conveniences and you will feel at home right away. There is a housekeeper provided to do cleaning and laundry and access to English speaking assistance and travel planning services.

Guestbook comments from the owner

There are a million things we wanted to say to you, and only wish we could sit with you in the Rainbow Cafe or on the roof at Cafe Sky and share some beers and talk. The house was wonderful *(and beautiful) and your hospitality and that of Leonore were so greatly appreciated. We found ourself growing fonder of Guatamala with each passing day, and we walked probably every street and ally in town (measured 12 to 15 miles per day just walking in town!) getting to know all of Antigua. Just what we wanted on this trip!

Your commitment to wise use and conservation of resources (recycling, minimizing waste, saving electricity and water with careful use, etc.) impressed us and we are grateful to you for sharing that philosopy with the people of Antigua (and visitors).

Carlos is a treasure for your company that you need to protect! Our friends never were able to join us, so it was just us going and coming in the van, and we spoke energetically in both Spanish and English with Carlos, as he shared travel information, political information, philosophical information, talked about the NGOs in Guatamala, and on and on. He holds you in highest regard, couldn't say enough good stuff about you, and loves working for your company. He is humble and warm, and was a perfect introduction to the Guatamalan people for us.

Thanks for all you did to make our stay enjoyable, I know it's a business venture for you, but you've managed to infuse a sense of hospitality that truly was appreciated.

Beautiful, well kept, with a home feel

  • 5 of 5

We could not have asked for a better experience! We got quick responses to our questions from the owner before we left. They also checked on us while we were there via email to see if we needed anything and to see how our stay was going The house was beautiful. It was equipped with everything we needed to cook. My son enjoyed the movie selections that were available. The wifi was very dependable which helped us keep in touch with family back home. It was quiet and a short walk from the square. The housekeeper was precious and very helpful with anything we needed. I am so glad we found this place and it will definitely be our go to place when we return to Guatemala!!! The sitting area near the garden was breath taking and a wonderful place to enjoy fresh air and a cool breeze. Loved every aspect of our stay!!!!

Excellent Location for Good Friday Processions!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this house for 3 nights during Antigua's famous "Semana Santa" (Easter Week). Beginning Thursday night and lasting into Friday, the surrounding streets were closed to traffic so that neighbors could prepare beautiful sawdust "alfombras" (carpets) for the processions to walk through. It was an amazing location for seeing these! The house was excellent, communication was very good as well. It was clean, but needed a deep cleaning. I would highly recommend staying here during Semana Santa or any other time!

Comfortable and Safe Stay in Antigua for Family of Five

  • 5 of 5

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this house. The house is close to central Antigua, while being just far enough to provide a refuge from the hustle and bustle. The house had plenty of space for myself, my wife, and our three children (14, 12, 10). The kitchen was modern, and there is a good amount of common space with the dining room and family room. I enjoyed the patio and the gardens around the patio.

Becky's house

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here. I was frustrated when I had inquired if there would be anyone able to help translate when we arrived the inquiry was not answered. The gardens are pretty and the view is fantastic of the volcano. There are some things that could use some attention in the house ie peeling paint etc. It served our purpose but it was stated that it was a 3 bedroom villa when in fact the third bedroom was a twin bed in the closet area with a curtain between to separate it. I am sure that it probably qualifies as a bedroom in Guatemala but not by US standards. Leonore was awesome despite the language barrier. If you speak Spanish you would probably really enjoy staying here. I looked again and it is stated to be a 2 bedroom but from information from the manager it led me to believe it was a 3 bedroom.

We couldn't have been happier. The house was lovely. The view was amazing! Lenore the housekeeper was wonderful! My two year old said that his favorite part of the trip was the house! I definitely recommend this home to anyone traveling to Antigua.
