ABOUT THE PROPERTY

Dreamland is far more than just a place to stay. It's a special place; you'll know it the instant you pull into the driveway.

Check the calendar below and make plans to run to the mountains for a couple of days. You'll be refreshed, renewed, rejuvenated and ready to return to your regularly scheduled activities. People LOVE the beds here - some have said it's the best sleep they've had in years. We also now boast delicious water that has no sulfur thanks to a brand new water system we just installed in June 2013. The hot tub is also in good working order.

Read what others say about Dreamland:

'In addition to the beautiful cabin & location... it really speaks volumes to see how much you and your family care for them. There is something about being part of the Country Ridge community that calls to me- I can't explain it!

' Dreamland made you do just that - dream of quiet and wonderful times together.'

' Thanks for making our anniversary the best one yet!'

' We didn't want to leave. We have already decided this is THE place for us when we come back in the fall.'

' Everything was so clean.'

' We loved the upstairs balcony. We were in our own deluxe treehouse. '

_________________________________________________________________

Tucked tightly into the mountain, DREAMLAND's upper and lower balconies spill out into the trees and offer some of the best tools for dreaming up just about anything: a bubbling hot tub, rockers, a hanging swing, and private views of the surrounding hills and wooded mountains.

__________________________________________________________________

IN THE RIGHT SETTING, YOU CAN JUST ABOUT FORGET ALL OF YOUR WORRIES

DREAMLAND is one of three exclusive cabins in the Country Ridge Cabin Community - each nestled in its own nook on a private mountain 1200 feet in elevation. Just seven to eight miles from Sevierville or Pigeon Forge, this mountain retreat provides everything you need to slow down. We believe that the hurried pace you are accustomed to should be rewarded with a place to retreat for optimum peace. Here, you'll find many places to slow down.

The deep porches are made for rocking, the hot tubs know all about tired muscles, the balcony swing make a book read better, and steak from the grill just tastes better up here. Country Ridge began with the mountains - mountains noted for their lazy blue smoke and wilderness sanctuary. That's why afternoon naps come naturally here. The day is all yours.

DOING NOTHING IS A LEGITIMATE ACTIVITY

There's so much to do here. Explore the mountain and picnic on Country Ridge's six private acres, photograph nature, or pitch horseshoes with your family and friends. Famous mountain activities surround you in every direction. Nearby, you will find fishing, hiking, horseback riding, golfing, boating, wildlife viewing, theater, and a million and one other things. There's no end to the opportunities that await you, although we believe that the best thing to do at DREAMLAND is NOTHING at all.

TAKE THE BACK ROADS

Stray off the Parkway. The untold beauty of the Smokies is on her back roads. Surprise beckons around every bend in the locally traveled scenic side streets. Pull over for cider and a bag of boiled peanuts. Stop at the river and look for trout. Hop out and see where that nature trail leads. Be curious.

After all, you are on vacation. Is there really anywhere that you HAVE to be? It was on these beautiful back roads that we found the perfect mountain for Country Ridge and DREAMLAND – your home in the Smokies. It’s an experience, not just a place to stay. Slow down. Savor your life.

UT VOLS FANS: What could be better than attending the (winning!) game in Knoxville and returning to your mountain hideout in the Smokies? We are approximately 30 minutes from the stadium with easy access via Chapman Highway. Go VOLS!

To help with planning - Bedroom layouts are:

Downstairs Bedroom: King Bedroom with adjoining hallway bathroom

Upstairs Bedroom: King Bedroom with attached bathroom and private balcony with swing

Family Room Bed: Queen Sofa Sleeper by the fireplace with adjoining hallway bathroom

** Tips So You Do Not Miss Out On Your Bookings

Disclaimer: I speak to MANY people who I email several times back and forth answering questions ensuring that the property is right fit for the guest and right for me as the owner. Of course I try to be fair as I can - which is first come first serve to include payment.

You, just like several other potential guests are searching online for your vacation destination that is perfect for you. On ‘MANY’ occasions I am quoting 2-3 potential guest at the SAME Time for the SAME Dates as your request. I typically will not disclose that information to you because I don't want to come off as pushy. Plus I feel like many owner/management companies may say this to force you to book quickly.

So if you feel that the property is right for you can select ‘BOOK IT’ on the top right of the screen the I will ACCEPT RESERVATION. Or after we have worked out the details of dates and price through the ‘QUOTE’ and you decide my unit is “the one” you cannot live without, I suggest you select the ‘REQUEST BOOKING’. This lets me know that you are ready to purchase. I then can send you a ‘BOOK IT’ request. I will ‘NEVER’ book the your reservation out from under you on purpose. I try to avoid any miscommunication issues but sometimes they occur. To avoid this - I recommend You say “I WANT THIS UNIT” and I will send you an invoice with a time limit for the awaiting payment. If someone else also wants the unit and is ready to pay I will call/email YOU allowing YOU “first right of refusal” also with a time limit (real short).

At any time through the inquiry and email process YOUR Options are: 1. “BOOK IT” from Top Right of Home Page or 2. From my email to you with 'QUOTE' attached select - “REQUEST BOOKING” which triggers me to send you a “BOOK IT” request.

***DREAMLAND is a sister cabin to SUGAR PLUM( VRBO 22749) and HOLLY BERRY(VRBO 28882). Each cabin has two acres, yet they are close to one another. The easy stroll between the cabins makes Country Ridge a perfect location for large and extended families, Weddings, senior staff members, executives, and church leaders looking for a special place to get together.

About Jason G.

I am currently serving as a Chief Warrant Officer flying UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopters in the Alabama Army National Guard. I have, along with my family, made two sacrifices while honoring Our Country during two Overseas Deployments. I currently have the privilege of teaching at The Home of Army Aviation Training Center at Ft. Rucker in lower Alabama. My family and I love the outdoors and Dreamland was a special and perfect fit for us, especially since it was built by my Grandfather.

Jason G. purchased this cabin in 2006

Guestbook comments from the owner

My wife and I shopped around for about half a day. That's because Dreamland's owner Jason was so quick to respond to our request that we knew that we were not going to find a better value in our log cabin expierence. The drive was great and the 6+ acres was a Dream. Very very relaxing.

Beautiful, remote cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is clean and beautiful! Situated remotely with 2 other cabins. If you're looking for 100% remote, this is not it, as the other cabins are close (which actually made us feel safer, as the three cabins are way up in the hills). Beautiful views and very quiet. We travelled with 3 small children, and the drop off is very steep in the back, so we kept them in the cabin or very close by when outside. There are also no hiking trails from the cabin, so we drove to the National park. This was no issue at all. Everything was extremely clean and tidy, and it was decorated beautifully. We loved the hot tub and huge porch in the evenings, and the beds and couches were very comfortable and in great shape. We truly enjoyed this visit!

Make sure you bring bottle water

  • 2 of 5

When we arrived the water had a very strong sulfur odor coming from all the faucets. When the maintenance people came out around 10 o'clock they were very nice and tried to do all that they could. The next morning the smell was back and not once did the owner check to see if the problem was fixed or not even after I had sent a text asking him to call me asap. I ended up paying a hotel to let us shower there. Also the pictures of the property need to be updated. The furniture is worn out and has tears in the Ottoman. Hot tub was murky due to the water problem also lots of sand in the bottom. Will never visit here again!

Owner's Response: Well ... I don't respond negatively to many reviews in respect of the author, but as a owner I try to go out of my way to make everyone happy mainly because Dreamland is such a special place. As you may know I'm in the military, and I'm use to critiques and complaints/belly aching. For this particular guest it started even before the booking; requesting a special rate, then wasn't able to use the VRBO app to locate a property which has never happen, then he got there and couldn't figure out how to gain access to the door which has never happened, and emailed texted and called about the water smell. That call text and email was definitely warranted. As with my cabin all cabins are on a well and have to be put on a sulfur treatment due to the sulfur in the mountains. Not only did I send my housecleaner out there but also set my maintenance man out there also. As the guest mentioned, he did asked me to call him, which I did; I think I texted him as well that evening after communicating to him several times prior to arrival and after arrival. In fact he called some random maintenance company to Dreamland to come out and look at the issue even though I have written is instruction in a reters binder and also on the VRBO App. We texted each other several times just to try to figure out who he called, it was like he called a random person out of the phone book. He didn't know who he called and didn't know who he spoke to. I mentioned to him that I have my own maintenance person and I'm not sure who he called. My maintenance person made the repair late in the evening upon the request of the renter so they could shower that night. As I'm aware of the quality work of the maintenance person I did not feel obligated to check back with the guest the next day, nor did they reply back to me thanking for the late night service of the maintenance man to come so late. I only hope they thanked him personally. As in the military, I have high standards and high-quality in management and ownership of Dreamland cabin. Unfortunately you can't make everyone happy as such this is the case. I hope his post nor my reply proclued you from considering Dreamland as your next vacation destination. Thanks Jason

Overall no problems at all everything at the cabin worked fine and was clean. Had a great time . Only negative would be location. I felt more like I was in the hills of West Virginia instead of the Smokey Mountains. It doesn't help having to drive through a junk yard to get to the cabin . Other than that Awesome cabin.

Tree Top Relaxation

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was everything we expected it to be! A great deal of time was spent on both of the balconies which almost have a tree house feel

to them. The beds were very comfortable. The hot tub was divine and the fire pit was conveniently close to the cabin. We made elaborate meals

in the well equipped kitchen and aside from a trip to Dollywood, we were more than content to stay at the cabin and relax. We will definitely make

this an annual getaway!

GREAT TIME!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is great! Very secluded and peaceful. 20 min away from anything you need. The log cabin feel makes it seem like we were the only ones around. Jason is great to work with and it couldn't have been a better weekend. Perfect getaway!
