About Rebecca Bramble
David and I are Raleigh natives that enjoy retreating to the cabins as much as our guests. We are constantly striving to make the cabin more comfortable for family gatherings, fully equipped to entertain friends, and romantic enough for a getaway for the two of us. We are confident that you will fall in love with the property as much as we have!
Rebecca Bramble purchased this Cabin in 2004
Why Rebecca Bramble chose Banner Elk
While searching for the perfect cabin for us, I had decided that the Banner Elk area was the setting that I most enjoyed. Close to shopping and dining, but not over done or over-priced like so many nice mountain communities. The realtor showed many a cabin and there was a cabin that I had truly liked, but just did not fill the desire that I had created in my mind’s eye. There was a local “For Sale by Owner” opportunity, but I did not take it seriously because the owner had two cabins and wanted to sell them together. I had been settled on one cabin and wanted to buy outright and not take on a mortgage. The gentleman agreed to meet in Sugar Grove at the post office and lead us to his cabins for sale. The first thing that struck me was the drive up the back side of Valle Mountain was just beautiful. This is starting out on a nice tone, I thought to myself. We pulled up the driveway and in front of the Treehouse Cabin. Nice setting, clean property, pretty cabin and then I opened the door. The symphony of falling water that welcomed me this early spring day was so overwhelming to me. My immediate thought was I must own this property and I had not even looked inside one of the cabins. The cabins were in excellent condition and, although in need of a redecorating, provided a strong foundation on which to build. After touring Treehouse, we walked to the waterfall, along the stream, and down to the pond. The topography and natural rolling of the property was food for the soul. On to the Bearclaw Cabin, where I was shocked to find that it had its own source of natural charm. The separate, gorgeous stream that can be seen from Bearclaw’s back deck provided its own surround sound. You can hear the stream from Bearclaw’s deck 365 days of the year. It is a healthy, vibrant courier of natural mountain water. Little did I know at the time that particular stream would be the source of our favorite family picnic spot, swimming for the kids, as well as fishing.
What makes this Cabin unique
The Treehouse Cabin lives up to its name. It is a dwelling amongst nature. Surrounded by a waterfall, stream, and pond sitting on the back deck or in the hot tub leaves you with a sense of pure serenity. We enjoy the opportunity to explore the property, the water, and relax amidst the trees. Inside, the decor is rustic and romantic with the modern conveniences that make it an easy retreat on the eyes and the senses.

Exceeded our expectation on all levels!
We would have been content with what comes to mind when I hear the words "Cabin in the woods" tad old, not perfectly clean, few things missing or broken. This wouldn't have cramped our style in the least. What we found couldn't have been further from the truth!!! I tossed some cereal and chips boxes and bags on top of the fridge for storage as I unpacked. Just out of curiosity, I checked the amount of dust I'd find up there. Nothing! I swiped my hand this time. not a thing! immaculately clean and we didn't find one thing broken (Thankfully our 2 little boys didn't find anything to break either!) We're already wondering when we can get back for another visit!!!
Very nice cabin!
My wife, myself, and a friend decided to go to Beech Mountain for some downhill mountain biking and this cabin was perfect for us. Close to downtown Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain, and Beech Mountain. Also very close to Grandfather Mountain, one my all time favorite places to hike. The cabin itself was very clean and had a very professional and relaxing vibe. The only negative thing I can say is that there was a yellow jacket nest in the side of the hot tub and we were stung a few times. I'm sure if I had contacted David or Rebecca they would have corrected it but I just as easily stopped by the local Dollar General and bought some Wasp/Hornet killer and it was no longer an issue. Our internet went out one night and we quickly received a phone call from David with instructions on how to reset it. Overall a great stay and would recommend.
Private and serene
My son and I really enjoyed the property. We hiked everyday and came home to cook dinner, hottub and hear the waterfall. We both had a great experience and would come back. Only complaint is we didnt book a longer trip!
An incredible experience!
My family of 4 greatly enjoyed our stay in the tree house. The stream right next to the house was a real treat. A short stroll down the hill or through the woods took us to the small fishing/swimming pond. Another short stroll up the road took us to a miniature Linville Falls! I walked up there every day just to take it all in. The home has 2 bedrooms and a loft with a futon sleeper. We were comfortable and everything met our expectations. If you forgot to bring something, chances are they have it. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with driving in the mountains, this one will have you at ten & two for sure, but it is worth it. Just take your time. The driveway is fairly long and about a 10 degree climb, which is pretty steep in a car. If there is snow, you will need 4WD. And I might be wrong but if there's ice, you probably can't get up there at all. The home is very well maintained and everything was in working order. You can tell the owners take great care to ensure your stay goes smoothly. We paid $174 per night and I felt like I got what I paid for, and perhaps a bit more!
We loved it!!!! Will be back!
We were very pleased with our accommodations--the home was so comfortable and well-appointed!
