A generous 19ft covered deck with pub tables and padded chairs allows you to see seven ridges (across to Tennessee) with the tranquil, quiet peacefulness you deserve when sitting on top of a mountain.

Inside you’ll find it beautifully decorated with granite, leather, artwork, natural stone, and cherry – you’ll be very comfortable. The four-poster mahogany bed, the entrance way seating/storage, the sunburst in the dining room – all hand made by friends and family.

Suggested Activities: : There's so much to do in the high-country. If you have a particular desire, please contact me and I can provide you with an agenda and route that only local knowledge can offer. There's also a ton of local maps in the cubby by the door. For instance: - 1/2 day/full day scenic drive with the best place to stop for lunch - hikes to little known waterfalls, or views - hikes with kids / hikes with strollers - parks for kids - mountain biking, and I mean great single track - one trail is called 21 Jumps - great, secluded trout streams - picnic spots - best/cheapest place to ride horses - free sledding spots - back road routes / scenic drives - lunch to go (other than fast food) - where to go tubing in the summer (or snow tubing in the winter) - canoe/john boat rental (less than 15 min away) - watch rock climbing from above or below (less than 10 min away); or if you have you own gear... - Par3 golf course (less than 10 min away)

Places to Eat: : Again, there's something to be said for local knowledge. We're more than happy to help with recommendations. upscale, casual, kid-friendly, seat with view -- whatever you're after, we can help you find it.

About Brent Sprinkle

I grew up camping in the mountains and continued this as an adult. When my wife and I first started looking for a vacation place we knew we wanted to be in the Boone, Blowing Rock area. After years (literally) of looking and the addition of two kids we decided a condo would best fit our requirements (low upkeep). We ultimately found a new unit in Echota on the Ridge with everything we wanted - a great, long range view, really great amenities, and very close to Boone and Blowing Rock. Bonus - it was an end unit with views on all sides, not just out the back. We've recently (spring 2010) decided to rent it out and hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do.

Great weekend

  • 5 of 5

The condo is great. My elderly parents had no difficulty getting around. The view is fabulous. We had such a great time. Brent is so easy to deal with. We could never figure out how to watch "regular tv" (at my parents request) but everything else was awesome. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone and would love to return for another weekend myself. Thank you so much!!

First Time In the Snow For These Alabamians!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in several VRBO properties over the past couple of years. They have all been nice. This is the first time that we have ever been absolutely blown away! The condo fit 2 adults and 3 amped up children comfortably with room to spare.

- Seriously one of the most beautiful views we have ever seen is what you wake up to every morning!

- The road up was incredibly well maintained. 5 inches of snow during our stay, not a flake on the mountain road on the way up! **More on that later!**

- Everything inside is modern and clean.

- The gas fireplace is one of man's greatest achievements on a cold winter day. The one in the condo was so very welcome many times a day!

- Comfortable beds. Clean linens. Not a single mystery stain to be found!

- On a quick run through the grocery store on the way in, my younger son's job was to grab laundry detergent. When we got to the condo, we realized he had grabbed fabric softener. They had some laundry detergent in the cabinet! (Don't count on that though, I have a feeling we got lucky, but it's great example of the homey welcome-y accommodations that run rampant through this place.)

- Seriously, the board games and puzzles are a great touch. We had brought our own, but digging around we found a new favorite game in the cabinet called Swap! I couldn't even begin to count how many games of Swap! we played... We ordered it on Amazon on the way home.

We loved every single thing about this place. My wife is not easily impressed, and SHE loved this place. We went snow tubing at Hawksnest (Awesome!) But, mostly we just played in the snow around the condo. I'm 37 and had never seen more than a half inch of frozen rain in my entire life. None of my family had. So, we had a blast just throwing snow at each other. So imagine what you can get into if you're not THAT impressed by the snow!

Now, back to that "clean roads" thing. Our GPS somehow glitched out (I'm an IT guy, so I'm pretty proficient and still have no idea what happened here) and led us up the wrong mountain 15 miles away from the condo. Those roads WERE NOT cleared...AT ALL! So, from one dumb Alabmamian to anyone else unfamiliar with snowy mountains, if the sign says "If the lights are blinking, 4 wheel drive or snow chains are required beyond this point" and the lights are blinking...you need to stop and get some snow chains and put them on. Because they're $200 to have them delivered when you get stuck on top of the wrong mountain...

Great condo, great location and great owner!

  • 5 of 5

I would highly recommend anyone wanting to stay in the Banner Elk/Boone/Blowing Rock area to book this condo. It's spacious, within 20-40 minutes of all ski resorts and the owner is great to work with. It has everything you need for a great vacation. Oh... and I forgot to mention the views - Amazing! 5 stars all the way.

Great condo!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great Christmas week with the family (3 kids ages 11,11 &6). Though the weather didn't cooperate - we were hoping for snow and got high 60s and several days of rain, it was still great. The directions and info that were provided were awesome. We did 3 of the recommended hikes and took a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We all enjoyed the indoor pool. The kitchen was well equipped and the view from the living area and master is amazing! We enjoyed the covered deck even when it was raining. Kids are already asking to go back!

Cozy and clean condo with beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

I went with my and friends family and we did not regret at all. Condo is clean and all the needs available to you, what you will need at your home. View from Balcony is just beautiful and amazing. My wife was very happy with Kitchen with all the utensils and appliances available. It is centrally located from Boone or Grandfather mountain or caverns but at the same time you are in mountain isolated and quite, I will be definitely looking forward to stay again.
