Serenity awaits you at this unique property situated on the shores of one of the area's most sought after lakes that features breathtaking views and great fishing. This lake is so desirable because it is a private, full recreation lake (no crowds). Large redwood pines and oak trees surround the property. Eagles nest in trees all along the lakefront. You will be amazed at the beautiful sunsets from the western exposure! This large, log house with sauna allows you and your guests to enjoy each other's company and still have privacy when needed. The home features a full basement with game room (Arcade Classics, Cruisin Exotica, billiards, shuffle board, darts), bar/kitchenette, sauna, and theater room.

Sit out on the deck and enjoy your morning coffee or evening refresher and listen to the peace and quiet. Year-round pleasure at your beck and call; all season sports available at your door, from active water sports, to snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice skating and downhill skiing. The home offers a large dock and swim platform for your water toys and entertaining enjoyment. This area of the lake has a sandy bottom with a very gradual drop off. Great fishing and boating lake. Our lake is a private lake, there is a private launch that you may use, however, you must clean your boat before launching it into our lake - including live wells and bilge pumps. If you desire to cruise the Eagle River/Three Lakes 28 lake chain, you may not launch your boat back into our lake. Our lake has not been introduced to Millfoil or any other invasive species and we would like to keep it that way. You may rent a boat on the chain for a day(make sure you reserve early) - go restaurant hopping and tie-up at Eagle Waters Resort for a break. Brule Ski Hill is just 35 minutes away.

Hello, and thank you for visiting our vacation rental. My family and I purchased this log home in October of 2008. We have been coming to the Northwoods all our lives. My husband has family in the Rhinelander area and we love the beauty and tranquility the Northwoods has to offer.
Chris Craig purchased this house in 2008
We chose this area because of it's pristine beauty. The majestic red pines swaying in the breeze takes my breath away. The view of a Bald Eagle swooping over the shimmering, crystal blue water is magnificent. The brilliance of the Northern Lights is unmatched by any fireworks display.
We love to sit on the front porch in the morning with our coffee and paper and watch the dew evaporate off the grass and just listen to the birds. Roasting marshmallows by the campfire is a special treat for the kids. The evening is so wonderful with the sunsets and at night, after we put the kids to bed, we turn on the exterior lights over the deck and read by the window - there is something spectacular about viewing the trees through this artificial light...it's breathtaking.
The photos do not do this cabin justice. This true log cabin is so beautifully appointed with North Woods furniture and wall to wall windows that you feel you are one with nature. The stone tile flooring and granite counter tops are so gorgeous that I have decided to change out my flooring and counter tops to mimic what the designer did here (I took lots of photos). We had a wonderful vacation during the New Year - it was cold outside but so comfortable inside. The kids were so happy to play all day inside and out. The games in the walkout were so fun the kids were entertained the whole time - a full week! Snowmobiling was great! We went to Ski Brule to ski for the day - fun! We are planning a summer trip - the property and the views are stunning - we're really looking forward to seeing it when the trees are in full bloom. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to stay in your perfect Craig's lil'Lodge.
The cabin is gorgeous with all the trees, and view of the lake, when the snow is falling! Beautiful! I enjoyed the fireplace, bottle of wine, and a great book....the kids and my husband went ice fishing. Watching movies playing pool, darts, ski ball, cards, board games, puzzles, and napping were highlights of our time there also.
FYI...they caught two northern, but they were too small, so back into the water they went! And about 8-10 Blue gills! It wasn't a lot, but they had a great time!!
We were there over New Years Eve, and were delighted that we ate delicious food without a reservation.
I LOVED the time we spent here! Great memories with my family. That's all I wanted for the holidays. Time with my family.
Thank you Chis for letting us enjoy your home!!
We had a wonderful vacation at this beautiful log cabin located on scenic Bass Lake. The cabin was impeccably clean. The kitchen was stocked with every possible cooking utensil. The recreational room in the basement provided lots of entertainment with the pool table, shuffle board and arcade games. Bass Lake is a clear beautiful swimming and fishing lake. We enjoyed being able to launch our boat and keep it tied to the pier for the week. Excellent fishing including Bass and Perch. Eagle River is a great location with plenty of state parks with beaches located nearby. Also, little shops and restaurants to enjoy.
The only draw back to this cabin is the restriction of linens. We were not able to comply with washing, drying and making of all beds before check out of 10 am so we opted to bring our own linens. This was not ideal and a bit stressful to worry about bringing all of our own sheets and bath towels. Additionally we were expected to vacuum and sweep and since this is a large cabin we spent the last night cleaning.
The renter is prompt with communication and easy to contact.
We had 4 families (15 people) stay at this place for a 3 day weekend. The place is very nice and spacious. The only unfortunate part was the sub-zero temperatures that kept us from enjoying the winter outdoors. We did manage to ice fish on Saturday and did very well, catching 10 northern and around 30 panfish (all released). Because of the frigid cold, we (the adults) were thankful for the downstairs game room, pool table, dart board, shuffle board, arcade games, you name it! The kids loved it down there and although I would normally unplug the kids from that stuff and get them outside, this was very nice to have available. My wife has to work-out and there was a place in Eagle River that allows you to pay per visit, so she really appreciated being able to have access to the facility. Overall, if you have a large group or family, I would recommend staying here for sure.
I'll start off by saying that our two weeks at the Craig's log home (read home not cabin) on picturesque Bass Lake seemed more like a couple days! It is just too perfect, and the time zooms by way too fast!
This was our second summer at this very, very special place on this perfect lake. Last year we stayed in this beautiful home for one week. That was too short. This year it was two weeks; once again too short! The pictures provided here are accurate, but do not do the reality justice. It is stunningly beautiful!!!
There were ten of us there, but this home is so huge and perfectly arranged it never ever seemed crowded in the least. My gosh, there is seating for 20 for dinner! The perfect kitchen has a Pizza Oven!!! That made cooking for the kids and cooking for the adults so easy! The Craig's home is warm and inviting and perfectly arranged for evening family games of cards, charades, and numerous boardgames that are readily available. The downstairs has a big screen TV with surround sound along with arcade games and a second kitchen and sauna. Oh my, once again.., perfect!
And that lake.., beautiful Bass Lake; perfect for fishing, skiing, swimming from their sandy beach in its crystal clear waters. And sunsets on the Craig's pier are nothing less than breathtaking. The Craig's are very kind, responsive, and keep their word!
This perfect place really and truly has it all. I highly recommend it and truly look forward to being there again.., for three weeks!
High end, well appointed home in one of the most beautiful parts of Wisconsin. Bass Lake, while relatively small, is large enough for water sports, very clean, and has lots of fish. There is lots for the kids to do on those rainy days too. Highly recommend this property as a great family getaway.
