About the property

Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Dolphins, pelicans, great fishing, kayaking, sailing, and the best sunsets north of Key West await you!

Quiet, Historic Townbank is just a few minutes from the Victorian City of Cape May and Wildwood’s famous Boardwalk, but is a world apart. Willow cottage is just four houses away from the most beautiful natural beaches in New Jersey. Start your day with coffee, enjoying the view of the water from the front enclosed porch. Enjoy breakfast on the landscaped terrace or on the large screened dinning porch. Spend your day with a good book relaxing on the beach or playing in the calm surf. Bring your fishing rod and crab traps because there is plenty of time for that to!

Need a break from the beach? Tour some of the great local attractions including the wonderful Cape May County Zoo or visit one of our many area wineries. Take a day trip to the quaint town of Lewis, Delaware on the Cape May Lewis Ferry or relive your childhood on one of the many rides on the Wildwood boardwalk. The area abounds with things to keep you busy.

End your day with a glass of wine while watching the dolphins play at sunset. Then off to Harpoon Henry’s a few blocks away for fun food and music or around town to one of Cape May’s exceptional restaurants. If staying in is more your style there are many local farm and fresh seafood markets to find something perfect for the grill.

Willow Cottage is family owned for over sixty years and has been newly renovated through out and offers all the modern amenities while maintaining a bit of the cottage’s history. The cottage offers beach chairs, an umbrella, sand toys and a wagon to haul it all!

Why The Owner chose Cape May

My grand father built the original part of the cottage back in 1949. It was his little slice of heaven. The whalers of New England first settled Townbank in the mid 1600’s. But during the 1940’s and 50’s it was a sleepy little village comprised of bungalows located on wooded lots owned by fishermen and their families. Four generations later Townbank is still a thriving family orientated community and continues to be our little slice of heaven!

The cottage was clean, comfortable and so peaceful, it was everything we needed. The house is extremely close to the Bay, which you can see from the front porch. There are lots of books set all around the cottage. Sitting on the front porch in the morning, drinking our coffee, or in the afternoon having a snack, and reading one of the many books was the perfect vacation treat. We would love to come back to the cottage when it’s warmer so that we could enjoy the back screened in porch.

The queen size bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable, not too firm and not too soft. The walk-in shower in the master bathroom was a nice treat. The heating system in the house worked perfectly. There is a washer and dryer located in the cellar which was very much appreciated.

The cottage is close everything you want to see in Cape May. Three days was not nearly a long enough stay in the cottage. Janice was responsive and helpful. We highly recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing time at the shore.

Would come back to Willow Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a friends get-away weekend and very much enjoyed our stay at Willow Cottage. Janice was easy to work with and happy to answer any questions. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was great to hang out on the front porch with coffee in the morning and have dinner on the back porch in the evening. The house is extremely close to the Bay which makes it easy to walk down for a dip or to watch the sunset. Cape May and other attractions are quite close, just a short drive. The area around the house is pretty quiet and when we stayed in September we didn't really see any other tourists or vacationers, very relaxing. We'd definitely recommend Willow Cottage.

Too bad that we could not stay longer." Thank you so much! We are so happy to hear that the cottage had just what you needed during your stay. Wonderful trip at Willow Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for our daughters Coast Guard graduation. Willow cottage was everything that was advertised and more. Janice, the owner, is more than helpful with questions regarding the area and is MOST accommodating. Our family had a wonderful time, and would NOT hesitate to stay here again, nor recommend it to family and friends. The sunsets on the bay are magnificient, and this home is very centrally located to all of the "things to do" in the area. You are not renting a house when you rent Willow cottage, you are renting a home! The only negative is that we were not able to stay longer. If you are interested in using the Cape May-Lewes ferry, Willow cottage is less than 10 minutes away, and it was a great expierence. Thank you Janice!

Enjoying the Jersey Shore at Willow Cottage by the Bay

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time vacationing in Cape May and staying at Willow Cottage. We generally do not go to the same area twice for vacation, but we so loved Cape May and all it has to offer, we had to come back! We love the location of the cottage and all it has to offer-easy walk to the bay and to Harpoon Henry's: very quiet and peaceful; clean and well-maintained; variety of activities to see and do and good quality restaurants within a quick drive away. Our family of four enjoyed the beaches, birding, kayaking, tours of the Cape May Winery, the Emlen Physick estate, Cold Springs Historical Village, and the Cape May Zoo. The owners are very accommodating and helpful in answering all of our questions. We would highly recommend this property to all.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much! We know when we have returning guests we must be doing our job right. One of the things we love most about this area is that it is centrally located. Everything is either a short walk or drive. You can start your morning with a beautiful walk on the beach, lunch at Harpoon Henry’s then head out for the afternoon to tour some of the local wineries!
