We are United Methodist pastors at a church in St Augustine and bought this place as our family getaway and investment for retirement.
David Williamson purchased this cabin in 2008
We bought this cabin because it was in one of the most beautiful areas we'd ever seen. It is so peaceful and relaxing to listen to the creek bubbling by and there is something to enjoy during every season.
We like to relax, spend time with family, enjoy the beautiful outdoors, read a book by the creek, hike local trails, fish for trout, and play in the creek.
We made some updates to the cabin during our stay in August 2010. We replaced the unreliable light over the kitchen sink with one that works all the time. We purchased a new gas grill and two Adirondack style rocking chairs for the deck overlooking the creek. We replaced the aging headrests in the Jacuzzi. And our favorite update is a screen door that allows guests to enjoy the cool mountain air and the sounds of the creek while inside the cabin. Finally, we washed, stained and sealed the exterior deck and cabin so the place looks fabulous. We hope you enjoy your stay!
Love this cabin. This was our 2nd time staying at this house. Only issue we had was for some reason the door key literally shattered at 10 o'clock at night. But thanks to Michele (the caretaker) we were able to get in . Thanks again for letting us stay here. Hope to be back real soon.
This cabin and surrounding area is just beautiful. The creek that runs directly behind it is so calming and such a beautiful relaxing spot. We would definitely recommend staying here!
The cabin was great ! The creek sounds were so peaceful and soothing. We enjoyed exploring the town of Andrews also. The cabin was warm and cozy , and was tastefully decorated. The only improvement I might add would be better beds - but we enjoyed our stay tremendously. Thank you for a great weekend !
We had a wonderful Christmas vacation at the cabin in the woods. The kids loved playing in the creek. The cabin was perfect for our family of five. Very relaxing time together.
We had a girls trip here this past weekend and absolutely loved the cabin! We really enjoyed the town of Andrews as well. The local wineries were great, and we highly recommend Hoppy Trout brewery downtown, great pizza! The only issue we had was the fireplace kept shutting off, and the pilot light going out, so we just turned the gas off. But the hot tub was a great substitute! We intend to make this an annual trip.
Spent 5 days over labor day weekend and it was more than we expected. The home was charming. Perfect size when you have little ones. Not too big that everyone was seperated, but not too small that it was crowded. The yard was an adventure for my 2 and 4 year old. A lot of yard space! They explored at every chance. IMPORTANT: look though the info David provides. A ton of fun things to do close by. Wished we had a taken more opportunity to explore the area. We loved our days at the home so much that we did not notice time flew by. Visit the lake and rent a boat that is 12 miles away. It is soooo worth it! Info is also provided by David. Definitely recommend and would visit again.
