Located in Canmore, at Canmore Crossing, 1120 Railway Ave., 5 minutes from the eastern gates to Banff National Park. Why stay in a small hotel room with no view or amenities, in a noisy area of town when you can have your own condo in a great central location for about the same price. Just minutes to most of what you likely want to do in Banff, Canmore and surrounding area.

You can leave the condo and walk to many restaurants, pubs, shops, even Starbucks (to prove the unit is in the center of things) in less than five minutes.

Larry is a serial entrepreneur. Having spent much of the 90’s at Microsoft, since 2002 he has helped to create and run a number of Internet and high tech companies. Laurie is a visual merchandiser who travels across Canada for her work.

Both of us are avid travellers. We own 5 vacation rental properties with Laurie managing the bulk of our rentals. Together we’ve spent many months travelling the world (North America - 5 provinces, over 20 states) (World - 10 countries and numerous territories) not counting places we’ve been to individually. Our goal is to do a good job exploring this great world of our in the time we have here.

We are open to trading time at our properties during the off peak seasons. All our properties are fantastic to visit year around.

Why Laurie & Larry chose Alberta

We bought at Canmore Crossing, in Canmore, about 5 minutes outside the eastern gates to Banff National Park for the following reasons:

We have a fantastic mountain view

We love the town of Canmore. We like the fact that is isn't as touristy as the Town of Banff but still a great mountain town.

We like our central location between the new downtown core and the old quant downtown.

We love that once we are at our condo we can walk around the downtown core for shopping and restaurants.

Our location is nicely removed from the Trans Canada Highway and situated in such a way that we get very little traffic or train noise.

We decided to buy in Canmore Crossing because its location and amenities made it a special mountain getaway location.

The condo felt safe, clean and very comfortable.

We loved our five nights in Canmore. The condo was a perfect location to walk to town and the views were spectacular. I was very reluctant to stay in Canmore instead of Banff but so happy we did! Banff was a close visit but Canmore had a much nicer local vibe. We would definitely stay in your lovely home again, thank you!

Fantastic

We had a wonderful time staying at Laurie and Larry's condo in Canmore. The condo was very spacious, beautifully decorated, and had amazing views. Everything was as described in the property description. The kitchen was very well-equipped, which made cooking as easy as it is at home. The location was very convenient - the condo is only minutes from grocery stores, downtown Canmore, and Canmore's wonderful network of trails. We would love to stay again!

The place was awesome .

There was everything there that we needed and the beds were very comfortable and the view was out of this world. We wouldn't think twice about renting it again and we will definitely recommend to our friends.

Perfect location with all the amenities required for a fantastic mountain stay.

The condo is within walking distance to the rec centre (Elevation Place), restaurants, paths and groceries. Canmore Crossing is a well planned shopping area with most shops required for the stay. The condo was well appointed, we were lacking nothing. We comfortably slept three (me and the two kiddies). The views are second to none and we said good morning to the Three Sisters each day.

The nearby train kept was noticeable for the first day, but we soon grew accustomed. The condo does get a bit warm by afternoon despite the blinds being closed but the mountain air cools it in the evening.

This was a perfect place for a family getaway. Thanks for having us at your property. Would recommend this to anyone!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the tips Brandy, and glad you enjoyed your stay. For guests who have never been to Canmore it sits in a valley with mountains on both sides. The valley to the east leads toward Calgary about 50 minutes away and the valley to the west heads in to Banff National Park. A train runs right through the valley. With mountains on both sides you will hear the train pretty much anywhere you are. It then becomes important as to whether it is more background noise or you get the full brunt of it. We specifically purchased our condo because it faces away from the train tracks. You will hear the trains slightly but as Brandy mentions it shouldn't take away from your stay. For any guests concerned about the temperature in the condo. We do have air conditioning at the condo. However, it wouldn't have been on by default in April. A warm sunny day in April may have evening temperatures of 10C or 50F. Therefore, it can be fairly quick to cool down the place in the evening even if you left the shades up when you went out for the day. Because the windows are so big (roughly 10' wide by 15' tall), on a warm summer day, even with the shades down, you will turn on the A/C to help keep the condo temperature pleasant.

Great Location and Condo

We truly enjoyed this place - has all the amenities you'd want including WiFi, Widescreen TV, porch with great views esp. comfortable bedding and even an A/C - Heating unit upstairs. Banff is close by (about a 20 minute drive) and Lake Louise about an hour. Convenient grocery shopping within walking distance. Owners and manager are most accommodating great customer service - thanks Laurie/Larry and Stefan

Would love to stay longer!

Had a great 4-night stay, but would gladly have stayed much longer. Some positive points:

- Spotlessly clean

- Perhaps the single best condo unit in terms of location

- Top floor of building = no noise from above

- Next door to exercise room, not another unit (thus no noise)

- Close to elevator = fast in/out

- VERY convenient (walk) to two good grocery stores and much more

- Closest condo unit to the excellent rooftop spa hot tub

- Rooftop spa tub clean, perfect temperature, awesome views in every direction

- Atop the tallest building around, condo feels quite private and enjoys good views

- Huge window = lots of light

- Good Weber gas grill on roomy open deck, plus extra propane

- Interior feels spacious, very high loft ceiling

- Instant-on gas fireplace with hearth

- Large soaking tub (for two, upstairs) with plenty of hot water

- Upscale kitchen with plenty of utensils and some supplies

- Underground parking (cars get dry, no scraping ice & snow)

- Comfortable bed & furniture

- Washer/dryer (stack unit, top-load)

- Key-less entry to condo, and code-access to garage and elevator

- Common areas look and smell very clean (unlike many condo buildings)

- Pet-free = no allergens

- Just a few blocks to the main highway, 20 minutes from wild lakes in Banff

Other comments:

- As expected for such a popular condo, there are minor signs of rental wear and tear. But everything is 100% functional and for the most part in like-new condition.

- The single elevator (for building) can be slow at busy times, but not a big deal.

Car: recommended

Located in downtown Canmore with an easy walk to the old downtown main street and all of the shops and restaurants. Easily access Policeman's Creek walking trail and gain access to the other hiking trails in Canmore from there. Easy 5 minute drive in to Banff National Park or Kananaskis Country (Canmore Nordic Centre and about 15 minutes to Spray Valley Provincial Park). Canmore is surrounded by National and provincial parks and our condo is in the centre of it all.
