Buddy Durham purchased this cottage in 1995
Seven acres of lakefront provide privacy, shared with only one other cottage and the manager's cottage. Property has been in my family for eighty years.
Substantial privacy on a beautiful lake. Many lake activities, glorious countryside.
Exceptional opportunity for families with kids to use the beach, swim area, lake and spacious grounds! Guests describe this as a "resort" and "a magical place".
Favorite activities: Morning walks on the lake road, kayaking, canoeing, reading, puzzles, fire pit and s'mores.
Comments: What a great place to spend a week in the summer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Camp is very comfortable, surroundings are incredible and Buddy makes all feel welcomed. Thank you!
Our family had been searching for the perfect lake house, and we finally found it! Everything about the property shows that Buddy (the owner) takes great pride in being the steward for this gem of a property that has been in his family for generations. The houses are clean, comfortable and well stocked, and any activity that you could ask for is there... canoe, kayaks, sailboat, swimming, fishing, hiking, horseshoes, ping-pong, tetherball (new to me), board games, and puzzles galore! It is the perfect spot to get away with your family. We can't wait to go back!
This was a great family vacation! Beautiful scenery, quiet, and relaxing. I will miss the gorgeous view of the lake every day. My kids loved the big lawn to play on and the beach was perfect. The water was so clean too! The kitchen was great to cook in and the house was a perfect size for a family of 4 with young kids. The porch was also fantastic! Many fun activities with in a short driving distance was also nice. I miss this vacation already and want to go back! Truly a beautiful area.
Buddy and Lynne's property provided a perfect setting for our first family vacation. The cabin was equipped with everything we could have ever needed and even things that we didn't realize we needed but added immensely to our comfort because they were provided. The weather was a bit erratic when we were there and we were quite comfortable whether it was hot, cold or rainy.
The grounds of the property were immaculate and included a recreation building which contained every kind of leisure equipment you could imagine. There are even take-out menus to local restaurants (which we took advantage of towards the end of our stay and were sick of hot dogs and hamburgers). The best part of the property was the beach - this area was perfect for our small son who could play in the sand and splash around in the water since the water is pretty shallow for quite a ways out. Our dog, of course, also loved the beach and water. My husband is an avid fisherman and had a great time catching small mouths while our son was napping in the afternoons.
I have already recommended this property to family and friends and we are trying to find a group to rent both houses on the property in the future.
