Island architecture offers year round resort type lifestyle. A Guest House (3 bed/2 bath) with solar heated salt water swimming pool (separating it from the main house) can accommodate 6 guests comfortably. All rooms have decks with incredible views of the Bay and the Koolau Mountains. Situated on a knoll overlooking the boat house and dock gives instant access to water activities such as fishing, kayaking, water skiing or just sitting by the edge of the grass to enjoy the sound of the water lapping at the shore. Reading a book in the gazebo under the shade of the coconut tree and cooled by the trade wind breezes offers quiet comfort. Myriad pictures for photographs from sunrise to sunset available to enhance your memories of a trip to Paradise. A spacious free-flowing living space that blurs the line between indoors and out.
Our suites are available for 2 to 6 persons. You do not have to take the entire 3+2. Please call for details.
We are surrounded by palm trees waving in the tradewind breezes, birds singing in the trees shading the property, many different hues of blue in the water and sky coloring the landscape. Each morning is a new canvas already painted for you to enjoy.
My husband and I are both from New York and met in Hawaii. We built the houses in 1972 and continue to add, improve and update on a regular basis. The guest house was originally for our 3 daughters and is now used by our visitors. The pool and deck separate the master house (where my husband and I live) from the guest house.
Gail Morris purchased this house in 1972
This property is at the end of a short dead end street on a knoll overlooking the bay. We have a 360 degree view from the water to the Ko'olau Mountains. We have lived on this property for over 44 years and have been sharing it with guests for more than 25 years. We love it, we love Hawaii and hope our guests discover what we have found, 'the secrets of Paradise...' !
We are out of the hustle and bustle of city life but close enough to get everywhere on the island within minutes, from the North Shore to Diamond Head with Honolulu and Waikiki in between. It's easy to get to all those places but not having to deal with traffic and congestion every minute affords you quiet time to relax and really enjoy your vacation.
From the moment we booked the house Gail was terrific. The house was clean and accommodated 6 adults and two kids very well. Great views of sunrises and sunsets from the master bedroom balcony. Access to the water was great for kayaking and the semi outdoor pool area was perfect for grilling, swimming and hanging out. If you like aviation this house is a plus. In the distance you can watch the helicopters and military planes landing at the base on the other side of the bay. The owner was very accommodating and had some great recommendations for the area. 5 stars!!!!!
We came in to Kaneohe and spent 7 days over New Years 2017 at the Morris Retreat or should I say treat !! we loved the space and lots of room for all 6 of us, we were very comfortable and relaxed , Gail was very welcoming and accommodating, and not intrusive at all. Kids really enjoyed the pool while the rest of us enjoyed the space and the beautiful views. House is gated which was a nice bonus. No Air Conditioning BUT not needed with the tradewinds off the Kaneohe Bay there was always a pleasant breeze. There is a galley kitchen and it worked just fine !! we had many a meal there all was good. Thanks so much to our wonderful Hostess ~ we plan to make it back as we have family that live in Kaneohe ! Mahalo from the Scaber's , Edmonton , Canada
My family travelled to be with our son, a Marine stationed in Oahu, for Christmas. I was looking for something on the water, and near his base, in case he couldn't get leave over Christmas. He did get leave, and five of us stayed a week at this wonderful home.
Gail and Red own this marvelous property and live onsite, in a separate area. This was not at all awkward or intrusive, and they could not have been nicer. While there is no private living room space, the outside ( covered and windproof ) living room is huge and very comfortable, with a large TV and music, and is yours to use as your own.
The beds are very comfortable, and everything is modern and of high quality. There is no oven, other than a microwave, but we used the gas grill which worked just fine for our Christmas ham. There are three balconies, all with wonderful views of Kaneohe Bay.
We drove all over the island, and were always happy to return to this diamond on the bay.
Thank you, Gail and Red, for being so hospitable, while we were there. You guys made the trip even better!
We had a wonderful stay, the views from every window are amazing. My family of 6 adults had a great time at this peaceful home. Gail was an amazing hostess she was available when we needed her, and quiet and respectful of our time at her home. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants to stay in a beautiful location with everything you need close by. Grocery stores, fine dining, local dining all 5 minutes away. Snorkeling, Hiking, Boating, Waikiki Beach, Pearl Harbor 15 - 30 minutes away.
What a wonderful place. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the setting whilst also being able to socialize as a group, too. The setting is absolutely lovely, looking over the bay with glorious morning sunrises. This has everything you need for a break away for 6 people - and the furnishings and decorations are perfect for a relaxed stay. Gail is the perfect hostess - leaving you to enjoy the property yet available whenever you need her. We loved it and would certainly recommend staying here.
We are on the east side of the island between windsurfing at Kailua and Lanikai beaches to the south and board surfing on the North Shore.
