Great place to stay, amazing location. Highly recommended!
Had a great stay in Shelburne Falls in Susan's rambling, comfortable and roomy home. 7 adults had our pick of multiple bedrooms on 3 floors (no one felt short-changed), with bathrooms on each floor. The home was clean and ready for us. The second floor spacious kitchen was where we spent time together, with plenty of room around the large farmhouse table to enjoy coffee and breakfast. It's an easy 5-10 minute walk into Shelburne Falls, which has multiple restaurants, a few small grocery stores, plenty of places to for snacks, drinks and conversation, and excellent candlepin bowling. Our destination for the weekend was the Green River Festival, where we spent our days and some of our evenings. Note: if you want a sleek modern open-plan house, the many charms of Susan's home will be lost on you. We heartily enjoyed the tasteful funky artwork and smaller rooms typical of older houses. Susan and her housekeeper provided excellent and responsive help, and were there to greet us when we arrived and orient us. A 5 star experience. We would DEFINITELY stay again.
My friends and I had such a wonderful stay! The kitchen was well equipped for cooking big meals and the big family dining table was perfect! There is plenty of room (we were a group of 12) and the house is very charming. Great books in every room. Also, an easy walk to town and the glacial potholes which is really nice. Thank you so much for giving us a place to celebrate and relax!
We came to Shelburne Falls for a family reunion, to celebrate my parent's 60th wedding anniversary. The weekend was a complete surprise for them, as family members came from all corners of the U.S. We all had a lovely time - 4 generations ! The house was great- the bedroom layout worked out well for us all . We managed to have family dinners outside on that huge table every night- the weather allowed us to get through the meals before the showers came !
Several of the young adults searched out the beach the owner recommended . All of us enjoyed strolling through the village of Shelburne Falls, walked the Bridge of Flowers , and ate ice cream (multiple times!) Most of all, we enjoyed being together at the house - just hanging out in the backyard, porch or parlor. Hadley, the toddler , loved the wading pool we found in the garage !
Thank you for sharing your home with us, it was a wonderful experience ! ,
This was a fabulous vacation house with lots of room for everyone in our group and walking distance from a great town. The beds were very comfortable and the number of rooms meant that everyone had privacy. The first floor was a little musty, so those of us with sensitivity to mold could not stay down there. The common room was the dining room just off the kitchen on the second floor, and it was a little small for all of us to gather. All in all, we had a great experience.
The place was just great. Went for a wedding that was a few towns over. Stayed there with a large group. The owner's were really welcoming and even though I was in a foul mood from a long car ride with kids, they told me the house was soothing. It certainly was. There was ample space. It was just a neat home. The town is adorable. There was a bridge covered with flowers and an odd parade the day we were there. There is also a glacial pool within walking distance of the house. Really neat environment. I felt like a local the whole place was so welcoming. Favorite part of Massachusetts: They don't waste their time gardening unless whatever they are planting is going to bloom. I felt like the whole area was in bloom. It was just gorgeous.
