You and your family will enjoy your summer watching sunsets over the bay across the street from 7 tennis courts and a large park with baseball field and basketball hoop. Wake up when you feel like it and walk across the street to the Pearl Street Market for your morning coffee and the day's newspaper. Are the kids ready for action? Hop on your bikes and ride to Fantasy Island, Bay Village, Schooners Wharf, or the Thundering Surf Waterpark. If you prefer the sand and sun, the beach is a short walk away. All amenities are nearby - grocery store, drug store, restaurants, bike / beach rental, and ice cream!
Only available for 2 weeks this summer.
Lauren grew up in Medford, NJ and spent her summers in the upstairs unit with her family. She met her husband, Scott, at the University of Pennsylvania and convinced her midwestern-born mate to give Beach Haven a look. He quickly understood the draw of the island. Now they both love everything about Beach Haven and when they had an opportunity to buy the lower level unit, they jumped on it. They spend the "off-season" in Haddonfield, NJ with their 2 girls longing for the days when they can return.
Lauren Kegler purchased this condo in 2008
It was easy to pick this property because Lauren lived in the upper unit of the duplex with her family since the early 80s. When the lower level unit became available, it was a no-brainer to take the leap and make it the "family compound". Of course, family dynamics change over the years, so we have an opportunity to rent it out from time to time and share the joy and fun with other families.
We love the location of our house. We have a unobstructed view of the Pearl Street tennis courts, the baseball park, the LEHYC marina, Mordecai Island and the bay. Since we have Southerly and Westerly views so we have spectacular sunsets over the bay. Of course it's great to have Pearl Street Market across the street and we're just close enough to all the action, but can return to a quiet street.
Great location for everything! close to market, beach, bay, tennis, ice cream, free concert in the park, several playgrounds...in short everything! we rented Kayaks from H2O water sports and had them delivered, easily launched at the end of the street. Lovely paddle around Mordecai island at sunrise and sunset. Rented bikes at AJs one block away. Went fishing off the end of the street ( and actually caught tiny fish immediately, the 4 year old was thrilled!). Every morn we rode, paddled or walked on the beach. Grandkids ages 4 and 6 awoke the last day and wanted to stay. Property was well equipped, fresh, modern, and clean ( laundry was a real plus!) and had AC for the very hot days. Great porch. Owner very helpful. Every activity from water park to Fantasy Island and shopping was either walking distance, easy bike ride or 5 minutes away with car. The Family Loved Buckalews restaurant/bar...had a kids menu with steak! Enjoyed the Showplace ice cream parlor complete with interactive song and dance. One block to Pearl Market had both ready made food and upscale groceries, great bistro food and market including fish, although a bit pricey.
Murphy's market and Acme for more reasonably priced groceries. Holiday Snack Bar had outstanding pies and cakes.
Although there was a great flat screen TV we hardly used it.
We're very close to downtown Beach Haven with access to shopping, Fantasy Island Amusement Park, Thundering Surf Water Park, plus we're conveniently located near Murphy's Grocery Store.
