I grew up in the town of Sonoma and made Kenwood my home in 2004. I love living in the wine country and have a fondness for the little town of Kenwood. I lived in the Cottage on Clyde for 4 years with my wheaten terrier mix. When I married and had a family, my husband and I decided to move because we outgrew the cottage. We decided to keep the place because there is so much charm to it and it was hard for us to give it up. This 70+ year old cottage has a uniqueness and charm to it that I hope you will find it appealing too.

This was our home first.
Ideal for two couples, a family, or just a small group of close friends, this vacation rental is within walking distance of several premiere wineries/tasting rooms and restaurants and just miles from world renowned spas, golf courses and hiking trails. The town of Sonoma and city of Santa Rosa are only 15 minutes away.
My sister and I spent two wonderful weeks in this cute cottage. We used it as our base of operations for all our trips to Sonoma, Napa, San Francisco and north on the California coast. The cottage is in a great central location and is located just a block off the main road in a quiet neighborhood. It was the perfect place to come home to, after a busy day. We especially loved the sun porch and had breakfast out there every morning. The backyard is fully enclosed with wood fencing and nicely landscaped. It would be perfect, if you are traveling with a dog. The owner was very quick to respond with a new toaster, when ours stopped working. There are wonderful wineries nearby and we highly recommend the Kunde, Benziger and Imagery wineries for tours and tastings. We enjoyed several nearby restaurants and found more great restaurants in Santa Rosa, which is north of Kenwood. If we are able to return, we would definitely stay in the Cottage on Clyde again.
This little gem is in a quiet neighborhood and close to many parks and wineries. Sugarloaf State and Jack London State Park are nearby. Both have wonderful scenery and are perfect for an afternoon of hiking. The house has a huge master bedroom and both bathrooms have oversized tubs for relaxing. The backyard is fairly big with a bbq that we made good use of to cook some steaks. There are several large trees in the yard that make it a great place for hanging out with a glass of wine. The house had everything we needed and we enjoyed our stay immensely.
Our daughter's wedding was in Kenwood, and we stayed at the cottage for 3 nights. Our 1 1/2 year old grandson stayed with us, and we loved it here! The cottage is clean, comfortable and roomy. The back yard was perfect for hanging out - quiet, private and surrounded by plants, birds and the resident squirrel. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed for cooking, and we grilled steaks on the patio. The night before the wedding, we had people over for pizza and wine, and the house was roomy enough to accommodate everyone comfortably. The sun room was our grandson's favorite hang-out spot. The bedrooms are comfortable, and the bathrooms roomy. Everything is as described.
The day we arrived, I had a question for Ginelle, and she responded to my email quickly.
We couldn't have had a better experience!
I brought my best friend to down to wine country for her 30th birthday. We've been to Napa, so we decided to try Sonoma county. We fell in love! The country is beautiful with all the rolling vineyards and this amazing little place was in the middle of it! Even it being peak season, it was so quiet. I could take a morning stroll, meditate in the back yard (I even had a little hummingbird come up very close to my face and say hello), we bbq'd, sat in the sun room and laughed (which was our favorite place), went wine tasting of course (Sonoma has the most amazing zinfandels). It was such a fantastic few days. I will definitely be booking the place again!
What a great find! From the moment we walked in it felt like home. If I could move this house to Texas I would. I agree with all the other reviews, it's a peaceful place to just sit and relax, both in the sunroom and back patio. Plenty of room and necessary supplies. We only stayed five days but would love to rent for a month next year. Thanks for sharing your home.
We had driven by this cottage last year and loved its Kenwood neighborhood. Now that we have vacationed at the cottage for 3 wonderful weeks, we are more in love with the cottage itself. We agree with everyone who writes that the photos do not truly show how spacious the cottage is. We spent most of our time in the sun room which is connected to the kitchen and where 2 people can eat looking out to the completely private gardens. We grilled and ate on the patio too. Our granddaughter visited and played outside while we and her parents watched from inside. She also biked around the quiet streets nearby. We walked to dinner at Café Citti and to tasting rooms. It was sometimes a challenge to think of a reason to leave our neighborhood. Very relaxing.

Our cottage used to be my private home, so I like to do all my reservations over the phone. I do not like online booking.
I charge cards 21 days before the travelers arrive. I hold credit card numbers and billing addresses as a "security" deposit. The traveler calls me to give their information.
