Why The Owner chose Utah

My husband has always wanted a REAL log home. SO, we picked a really unique 11 acre ridge top lot. The location has incredible 100 mile PANORAMIC views. The elevation is about 8000 ft. The temperatures in the Summer are the best! Taking in ALL of the outdoor activities is so....nice, then maybe in the evening a sweatshirt is needed. You can't beat it! Then the Fall season, the color change of the leaves are a sure thing to talk about. Then the Winter,a crazy snow storm one day, then the next is a beautiful sunny day! You can't beat Utah's snow!!!!

What makes this house unique

The best thing about the location of the home is the 100+ mile views from inside and outside this home. As there are windows, windows and more windows. Being that it is centraly located to all of the things to see and do in the Southern Utah area is a real plus. The Dixie National Forest is our backyard. The easy access to 100's of miles of trails is really nice. Also, the Elk Bugling in AUG,SEPTand OCT is an experience that you'll never forget!Prime, Prime property! Guaranteed, you won't be disappointed, and actually you'll probably never want to leave!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family had a wonderful time in the Southwest and greatly enjoyed the Elk Ridge Estates cabin. We appreciated the pristine condition we found it in when we arrived. The views and amenities were fabulous! We prepared and enjoyed some memorable dinners in the well-equipped kitchen and dining room. The movie room and pool table were a real hit with the younger members of our family.

Thank you for facilitating our stay. It was all we had hoped for and more.

This is the place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

I would definitely recommend this spacious and tranquil property. It is well worth the money spent. We are so happy we found it and had such a memorable trip. The owner was very helpful and kind with any information I needed. The house was very clean and the views are breathtaking. It was a delight for all to see deer and turkeys out the windows when waking in the morning. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen along with the rest of the house is well equipped for large groups. Both Zion and Bryce were beyond our expectations and almost everyone caught one or more fish at the Tropic reservoir. Be sure to stop at La Boulangerie Marie (french bakery) on your way out in Cedar City for coffee and crepes! One of the servers is a great singer and sang a Beauty and the Beast song for our kids.

The log home was very nice and the setting was wonderful.

  • 4 of 5

The log home was spacious and nicely equipped and furnished. The kitchen was large making meals fun and easy for our tribe. The large high end stove and refrigerator were very nice. Everyone enjoyed waking up to see deer around the property. The pool table, pickle ball court (in the garage...don't hit a high shot), and the wonderful fire pit made for fun and unexpected family activities. The squirrels checked out the fire pit each morning to see if any s'mores remains were available. The many animal heads mounted on the walls were always a source of discussion.

The master suite had some interesting features. The large log bed frame made getting out of bed more challenging than you might expect. The view to the rear of the property from the master suite was not hampered by any window coverings. So dawn encouraged sleepers to wake up and admire the view not sleep in. The view was an issue in the master suite shower as well. No window coverings interrupted the view from the large nice tile shower to the front drive. A possible Olympic sport may develop....exhibitionist showering before any guests drive up. Also, finding the hiding place for the toilet paper resolved some anxiety among all.

The setting was perfect with wonderful views, privacy and a nice woodland atmosphere. The exterior was well maintained and provided a great place for kid games and gatherings. All in all it was a VERY nice location and we all enjoyed it.

BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at this amazing cabin & it by far exceeded our expectations!! It was everything the website mentioned & more!! There were 10 adults & 2 children in our group & there was plenty of room!! The theater room, pool table & the indoor pickle ball court were all a hit with both the young & not so young! The views are breathtaking from anywhere on the property, especially from the large decks. Amanda & Nate were great to work with & did everything they could to make our stay complete. We have used VRBO every year for the past 8 summers & I have to say this is by far the BEST yet!! I defiantly would recommend this property to friends & family without any hesitation!! I assure you, if you stay here you WONT be disappointed!!

Beautiful views, very accommodating

  • 4 of 5

This home has it all. We had a party of 6 adults and 2 older teens. The house was beautiful and clean. It provided a breathtaking views from almost every room. The basement having a pool table and entertainment room was a plus. The open concept of the kitchen and dining room made it easy for our large group to gather making dinners. The kitchen was stocked with a good amount of dishes, pots and pans, utensils.

The proximity to Bryce, Red Rock, fishing spots, and hikes in the Dixie National Forest made this home ideal. The drive to Zion was about 10-15 minutes longer than Bryce but still a great location. Bryce was far less crowded than Zion and temperature was cooler too.

The fire pit area was great. We had a few nights making smores and star gazing.

A great place for homemade pies was at Sue's Chalet in Duck Creek Village.

Perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

We so enjoyed your beautiful home. The location was perfect for getting to all the parks. Everything in the home was great and it had a million dollar view.

We had 12 people there and everyone had a bed and the lower level with the theater and pool table was a hit. The garage had pickle ball marked off and the fire pit was perfect at the end of the day. The air conditioning was not working in the bedrooms the entire week, but because of the lower temps at night and the wonderful breeze it was not a problem. The owner explained they were waiting for a part, so it was totally understandable. The house was very clean and had all the amenities needed. Would highly recommend this property for a mountain retreat.
