Absolutely wonderful! Spent lots of time in the hammock!

  • 5 of 5

The pond cottage is a well constructed 4 room house - 600 sg ft. It is well layed out for a couple wanting a quiet few days. All the essentials are there and then some! The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The whole [place is super clean. The gas grill worked just fine. We had to have tin foil to cover the grill though because of a little rust. Also, the fridge is a dorm size model and we needed to go into town to get more ice. We had a little problem with the power and the owner, Brian, was out there promptly to fix the issue. Turns out the cabin is powered through the main house breakers and one of them flipped off... The owner is a really nice guy! I'm glad we got to meet him. Despite these 3 tiny issues, I didn't want to leave! It was relaxing and more-than-comfortable. There is ample fire wood available on the property and in the woods. We didn't rent the canoe but they were available down by the river - a 10 minute easy walk. It was quiet. We never even turned on the TV. We listened to CDs outside all day and far into the night. It was really romantic around the fire pit. We even danced a little on the porch in the moonlight! We had an opportunity to peek in the windows of the other 2 houses. The game room is huge. I've never seen such big bedrooms - they had a queen and a single and still had plenty of room for another few beds or blow up mattresses. The big house has horse shoes, bocci ball, corn hole, a barbecue and a large open room - great for a meeting or several small grandkids! We loved it so much that we are planning to rent all 3 houses for our 3 adult children, their spouses and our 6 grandchildren. The grandkids can run around in the huge, well manicured yard and we can have movie and popcorn night every night! We've rented other cottages over the years and liked them all but this one has a special appeal. It is only 4.5 hours from home and it can accommodate all of us and there is plenty to do for all ages. Highly recommended.

Quiet, Peaceful, Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful and relaxing time celebrating my husbands 40th birthday. He wanted to get away and have "nothing to do" but fish for a few days. We drove the 20 minutes to the Geneva State Park and it was a great day. We had a fire and put together a large puzzle we brought along. It was a quiet place even though the other houses on the property were also rented. The cottage was tidy and cozy and comfortable. We are looking forward to going back and taking advantage of all of the winery options that are nearby.
