This 2 bedroom 2 bath at Kona Alii is a penthouse unit. Fully equiped to also include a sun deck! Star gaze or get a serious tan!

The Ocean Front Lanai looks over the sea wall in down town Kailia Kona.

Unit has a full kitchen. Both bedrooms have Queen size beds.

You will have to see the views to believe them!

Stroll down Alii Drive and you will find a variety of shops and restaurants. Nearby restaurants include Splashers Grill, The Fish Hopper, Huggo's, Don the Beachcomber, Kona Inn Restaurant, Kona Canoe Club, Outback Steakhouse, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, Island Lava Java, and Bongo Bens Island Cafe and the list can go on.

But the town of Kailua also "hides" some very important Hawaii Island historic spots. Both the Hulihee Palace and the Ahuena Heiau are located on Alii Drive. King Kamehameha I spent his last years living near the current site of the King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel. The Ahuena Heiau, located on the grounds of the hotel, is a reconstructed temple rebuilt by Kamehameha himself and is on the register of National Historic Landmarks.

The Kailua Bay pier is a short 10-minute walk, from which most of the boat excursions on the Big Island's west coast depart (snorkel, whale watch, dinner cruise). The pier is the starting and finishing point of the Ironman World Championship (October) and a great place to watch the sunset.

You are paying for the view.

We vacation yearly and choose condo's to stay in to find one we would like to purchase. The view was awesome. We saw spinner dolphins daily. The pool was okay. You get what your pay for and in this case you are paying for the view. The condo was awful. Packing tape was used to hold the oven drawer and top trim piece together. Lanai "white" curtains were filthy. Metal door to private lanai broken and slams shut when closing. Almost caught my fingers in it. Master bath toilet "15 second" hold does not sound like a big deal, but it is after a few days there. Simple fix but would rather leave a "note" on the toilet. No AC but usually have no problem b/c of the trade winds. Had to close them because of cigarette smoke coming in from condo below or ? When we did leave windows open all night the bar noise very, very loud. Okay if you like to party. 3 days the elevator was down because of re-tiling. Steps to 7th floor was not fun. Thankfully they were opened before we had to carry our luggage out. Ants as always, but normal condition. Designated parking spot is next to building but will not work for large vehicle or hard to park b/c of angle of building.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Watched dolphins in the bay from the lanai, slept to the sound of the surf at night. Nice pool. 5 minute walk to the farmers market for fruit and veggies, 5 minute stroll the other direction to the ABC store for a bit of everything else. Restaurants up and down Ali'i. But with all the conveniences it is the view that will bring us back.

The condo was almost perfect.. A little warm a couple of days, but still a 5 star value. A great setup for 2 couples, or a family with older children. The facility was immaculate. Nice grill, excellent pool. And the best location.. Walk to all downtown attractions. Would be glad to recommend.

Paradise in Kona

I wanted to share information with other travelers about this condo. We stayed here 16 nights June-July 2016. I have been to the Big Island and wanted to locate somewhere convenient to everywhere. Kona seemed to be a great fit for us. 2 hours to Volcano, 2 hours to Hilo, and not more than 2 hours to about anywhere you wanted to go on the island. Now some things about the property. I'll give you the only negative we could come up with. If you come in July, it can be rather warm. The unit has plenty of fans, and the trade winds blow right off the ocean with cooling breezes. When the breezes are not, it gets warm. Perfect time for the pool, or shopping. A few words about the facility,, perfect, clean, and in great shape. The parking space was close, elevator beside the unit, trash chute just around the corner. The pool was perfect, plenty of chairs, and we used the grill, no problems there. Check in was flawless. The condo is in the heart of Kona right on Alii Drive. Walking distance to everything. The unit had plenty of room for us, and would be very good for 2 couples, or family with kids that could go upstairs to the bedroom and bath there. Kitchen is well stocked and had full size washer/dryer. Huge balcony with unobstructed views of the ocean. We saw dolphins most every day, and the cruise ship anchored every Wednesday. Morning coffee on the lani was something I enjoyed every day. The owners have the unit stocked with books, music, spare light bulbs, and beach stuff. The queen beds were fine, and the sun deck became a perfect place to see the stars. We had street side seats for the Fourth of July parade and fireworks. To sum it all up, if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, tranquil country setting. This is not the one. If you want to be walking distance to downtown and have everything you need this will fit the bill. I will definitely stay here again...
