I built this house 20+ years ago. It was designed by an architect who favors the Northwest Style of light, airy, open to nature, but compact and simple in its execution. It is a joy to be in this space.
Beautiful park like setting, quiet and peaceful. Amazingly close to downtown and the favorite places in the Portland area. We constantly receive nice feedback about the ambiance and cleanliness.

I have been a social worker in Portland for 30+ years and have been managing the vacation rentals together with my daughter, Kris, who is a contractor. We love houses and are offering two choices in the Portland area now. My other passion is traveling which I have passed on to my daughter and grandchildren. This house reflects our international experiences and global focus. And it is filled with art providing a treat for everyone.
Carol McKinnon purchased this house in 1990
I built this house for myself 20+ years ago. It was designed by an architect who favors the Northwest Style of light, airy, open to nature, but compact and simple in it's execution. It is a joy to be in this space.
"Very much enjoyed the amenities, furnishings, and tasteful decor in your house nestled in the hills outside Portland. Our 30th wedding anniversary was very well served by a week in the tranquil atmosphere the house embodied. Set between Beaverton and Portland, the house is the perfect location for peace and quiet in the midst of everything Portland has to offer. We shared the house with one other couple for one weekend, and it had plenty of space for us all to spread out. We enjoyed the open floorplan, which made preparing meals a fun group event. Hot water, mood lighting, and lots of windows--would love to have a house like this for ourselves. Literally 10 minutes to downtown Portland (outside rush hour admittedly) and 5 minutes to the Hoyt Arboretum and Oregon Zoo. Close to Max light rail and all the shopping and restaurants of Beaverton. Ideal location. Again, thanks for letting us share your house. Mark and Elizabeth - Williamsburg Virginia"
Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable.
This place served us well for a busy work-related stay in Portland. We were grateful to retreat to the peace and quiet sanctuary of this home. Owner was super accommodating of our needs. Lovely clean and spacious home.
We love this place, surrounded by tree and very peaceful. We will recommend this place for others to stay.
We had a wonderful time. The deck was beautiful, and there was plenty of seating in the living room and dining room. It was peaceful, yet so close to the city. We would stay here again. Thank you!
My family of four stayed in this lovely home for five nights. The house was very clean and well organized. The kitchen was nicely equipped - more so than most VRBO's that I have stayed at. The nights were quiet and the beds were comfortable. The place is nicely decorated. Wildlife was abundant - we actually saw two coyotes in front of the house one morning. If returning to Portland, we would stay here again. One very small point - faster Internet speed would be a welcomed improvement.
We (family of 4), were visiting Portland for the first time and loved this house! It had everything we needed. The place was clean and relaxing! We hope to stay again some day!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is immaculate, just immaculate, and it is very nicely appointed. The decor is beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, serveware and dinnerware. The abundant and nice quality bed linens for the very comfortable beds, and the thick and luxurious bath linens enhanced our stay. Seating areas are very comfortable. We loved being "in the woods" yet just blocks from the public transportation station. The neighborhood is very quiet and we enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels from the numerous large windows. The location is surprisingly close in: It really is just five minutes from downtown, and just ten minutes on the IMAX public transportation system. Communication with owner Carol was efficient and friendly. We will not hesitate to stay here again.
