Overview

About the property

3+ Bedrooms, 2 Full Baths, Sleeps up to 8

Light and airy contemporary home welcomes you. This house is nestled among lush gardens and protected forest borders on a quiet dead-end street. Yet, it is only a 5 minute drive to the City Center, Pearl and NW Alphabet District, Zoo, Washington Park and Forest Park. From here, you also have easy access to the Nike Campus, St. Vincent Hospital and the western Metro area.

Another bonus, the house is now outfitted with all Tempur Pedic Supreme medium firm mattresses.

The house is filled with art, reflecting our international travel interest, and is full of visual treats for everyone.

I built this house 20+ years ago. It was designed by an architect who favors the Northwest Style of light, airy, open to nature, but compact and simple in its execution. It is a joy to be in this space.

Beautiful park like setting, quiet and peaceful. Amazingly close to downtown and the favorite places in the Portland area. We constantly receive nice feedback about the ambiance and cleanliness.

NOTE RE: FIREPLACE. The fireplace is available for use. I prefer using the packaged logs and will provide one for your stay. The Birch is only decorative. Please make sure the flu is open and burn only 1 log at a time.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Very much enjoyed the amenities, furnishings, and tasteful decor in your house nestled in the hills outside Portland. Our 30th wedding anniversary was very well served by a week in the tranquil atmosphere the house embodied. Set between Beaverton and Portland, the house is the perfect location for peace and quiet in the midst of everything Portland has to offer. We shared the house with one other couple for one weekend, and it had plenty of space for us all to spread out. We enjoyed the open floorplan, which made preparing meals a fun group event. Hot water, mood lighting, and lots of windows--would love to have a house like this for ourselves. Literally 10 minutes to downtown Portland (outside rush hour admittedly) and 5 minutes to the Hoyt Arboretum and Oregon Zoo. Close to Max light rail and all the shopping and restaurants of Beaverton. Ideal location. Again, thanks for letting us share your house. Mark and Elizabeth - Williamsburg Virginia"

Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable.

Children are very welcome, however, I want to stress that the house is not childproof. There is a high deck off the livingroom which could be quite dangerous if not used properly. I used to watch my kids like a hawk on it when they were little, and I would ask that you do the same.

Wedding getaway

  • 5 of 5

This home is in a beautiful, peaceful neighborhood and had absolutely everything that we needed. For us it was the perfect location...close to shopping, downtown Portland and pretty much anywhere you would need to go to in the Portland area. Would definitely stay here again...looking forward to returning in the near future!

Nice Stay in Portland!

  • 4 of 5

A total of 5 friends and I stayed in this beautiful home for a quick weekend get-away to Portland. The home is uniquely decorated and is very spacious. The six of us were able to sit in the living room area, with plenty of space. The bedrooms are located downstairs and are also spacious. The neighborhood is very quiet and the outdoor surroundings are beautiful. We were out a lot and didn't cook, but the kitchen was fully stocked with all that we needed. The downtown Portland area and other small quaint neighborhoods were a quick drive away.

I highly recommend this property and would be happy to stay here again.

Beautiful home, peaceful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

My family really enjoyed our time here. We have not all been together in over two years, this home gave us space and room to prepare meals together and enjoy each other's company.

The comfort and convenience of this home made for a perfect vacation.

clean, uncluttered, contemporary, and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this contemporary, open design home. The kitchen was fun to cook in, as it was furnished very completely. Sleeping areas were well designed and separate from the upstairs living area. We liked having the large washing machine and detergent on-site. We were able to grocery shop not far away at an excellent New Seasons Market and enjoyed a meal at a the New Seoul Garden Korean restaurant nearby. With Portland traffic, it is a bit of a drive to get to downtown and other destinations, but the home is a quiet peaceful retreat surrounded by tall trees. Our family of five adults really appreciated our time together here.
