The Unique Benefits at this House: : My vacation property is a special place where I can go and have everything I need to be comfortable, prepare meals, and have guests. Because it is in a quiet, residential area, there is no noise from neighbors such as one might experience in a multiple-unit setting. It has all the necessary amenities, including a very well-equpped kitchen with many small appliances - including rice cooker, blender, food processor, and others.
Why the Owner Chose Gleneden Beach: : The Coast has a special mystique. No matter what time of year, no matter the weather, there is always something to see and to do. The dynamic Pacific Ocean is as mesmerizing during a winter storm as it is on a sunny, summer day. I chose Gleneden Beach because it really is a small community, away from the buzz of busy traffic. The atmosphere is gentle and the houses are not cookie-cutter developments; they reflect the long tradition of folks wanting to have a little coastal retreat for year-around living or visiting in the summer.
Special off-season rates are available, with incentives for longer stays. Also, this is a good spot to rent if you have a temporary job at the coast. The monthly rate includes all utilities, including satellite TV and internet service. A good deal! Off-street parking for two or three cars.
Suprised at just how small this rental was when seen. The until is in need of a deep cleaning, repair and updating. It had a "for Sale' sign out front. It did put a roof over our heads for a rainy weekend and is close to the beach. Because of 'Cycle Oregon' taking over all available rentals in the Newport to Lincoln city area, this was really the only option we had to consider. We had a work weekend scheduled for our own property, with equipment and labor, and could not change the date of our visit.
As always, we had another great time at the beach house at Gleneden Beach House. Barbara allowed us to check in early, due the fact that no one had rented it the previous night. We hope that if the property sells, the new owners will keep it as a rental home on VRBO!
Everything was as described. It was great having so many dishes to choose from (I brought some of my own, not sure what was there - but didn't need to use any of mine! There was even a blender!)
It was a really nice walk to the beach and we even heard whales on our last night there! Amazing!!! It was wonderful to go to sleep every night with the sound of the waves.
The neighborhood was lovely and friendly - everyone waved when I drove down the street, as if I lived there! I felt very welcomed! The grocery store is only 5 short minutes away, with great, friendly staff.
Listing was accurate, property was clean, lots of reading material, kids loved the beach. I like the location in a small quiet community but a short drive to the larger town which was large enough to have most of what you need for supplies, but too many tourists for my taste. I met some of the people who lived there while walking on the beach and they were very helpful in pointing out points of interest.
Was nice and clean. Did not use half of the house because just 3 of us. My wife, and small dog. 1 block from beach and close to Salishan Resort. Depot Bay has a great restaurant that we went to several times. Tidal Raves Seafood Grill was so good, moderate prices and great ocean views.
My wife and I had a relaxing weekend at Glenedon Beach Resort. Barbara allowed us to check in early. The place was clean and ready for new guests when we arrived. The location is very good, just 2 blocks to the beach, and 10 minutes to Lincoln City. We're hoping to spend a week or so this summer!
