If you like open horizons and open vistas, if you are searching for a cosy nest to rest in the centre of a busy city, a warm, peaceful and relaxing Home Away from Home, a small yet well equipped and affordable retreat, look no further! This is the place for you in Paris!
This 30 sq metres apartment is a two room apartment on the 6th and last floor of an 1800’s building with elevator. It has been completely renovated into a sitting room/bedroom, a dining room with corner kitchen and a bathroom. It's an ideal 'pied a terre' for 2 people, but it can accommodate up to 4. Ideal for a family with 2 children or 3 friends.
The sitting room/bedroom, is painted in a combination of a subtle bois de rose and a delicate magnolia colour, has a parquet wooden floor, a double bed and a sofa that turns into a comfortable queen size bed, both with very good quality mattress, flat screen television, DVD with a selection of classical films, books, a desk, a bookcase/wardrobe, selected indoor plants and air-conditioning. The balcony offers spectacular views of the Eiffel Tower and central Paris.
The dining room/kitchen painted in mauve/red and magnolia is complete with dining table and chairs that can accommodate up to 4 people, a refrigerator, washing machine, dish washer, oven, micro wave, toaster, coffee maker, a selection of indoor plants and a plant filled balcony with floor cushions that one can sit on and enjoy breakfast or a drink while enjoying the views over the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomph and central Paris.
The bathroom is small but also totally refurbished with shower.
The apartment is ideally positioned facing south towards the center of the city, so it has lots of natural light and sun all day long, something quite exceptional in Paris.
It is situated at the edge of the famous Montmartre area, with its many small streets and its little specialist shops, cafes and restaurants. A bit further up the hill and just 3 min away on foot, you will find the stairs that lead to Sacre Coeur, another famous Parisian landmark. Behind it, on Place de Tertre many artists gather to sell their works of art or to draw your portrait for a small fee, continuing the long tradition of artists, Montmartre is famous for.
This is how Montmartre is described in one of the guides.
'Everyone has their opinions about what to see first in Paris, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, blah blah. Forget it. Get off the plane and go to Montmartre --one of the neighborhoods of the 18th arrondissement, an 'outer' arrondissements of this little escargot known by the locals as 'Paname.' This arrondissement, the center of Bohemian romantic life, the setting for Buz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge and of the Les fabuleux déstin d'Amélie Poulain (Amelie) has everything. Great food at good prices, French Chanson, art, tacky sketch artists, charm, vulgarity, shops, monuments, class, and if you don't want it -- you can find no class. The 18th is where you will find spectacular Sacre Coeur, the Musee Dali, winding hills, vulgar and cheap souvenirs to take home to people you don't like so much anyway, Moulin Rouge, Pigalle – everything that is great about Paris. Though it is no longer home to as many artists and bohemians as it once (they have moved to Montreuil a neighborhood to the East of Paris) and even though the bourgeoisie and their money has flooded in, there is little that can be done to erase the charm of this neighborhood... gentrified or not.'
Another important fact about this apartment, is that both metro and buses are right in front of it, which means that you will not have to walk far with your luggage when arriving and departing or when getting home after a long day out sightseeing, or even better you can get home for a few hours to rest and then go out again.
With Paris and the Eiffel Tower just at your feet, beautiful Montmartre just around and a fresh looking, cozy, home to come back to, this is by far one of the best places to be when in Paris!

Galatea purchased this apartment in 2007
I fell immediately in love with this little nest of an apartment. Having this kind of view in Paris is quite exceptional as is having lots of light. Many apartments look out on courtyards that the sun never reaches. On the contrary this small but lovely apartment is virtually drenched in light, even if the day is grey. It just changes your mood!
Things that make this place unique are the views it offers over Paris, its position and quality of light and its proximity to transportation. What could be more invaluable than looking at the Eiffel Tower first thing in the morning and last thing at night from your window. How many people have this privilege in Paris?
We've so enjoyed our ten days here. The apt is delightfully equipped + the view is wonderful!
We only left one day ago and I already miss Paris. This apartment was wonderful. This was our first time to use VRBO and we were not disappointed. Galatea gave us very useful information and the apartment was fully equipped. We stayed for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the neighborhood. One of the neighbors stopped by our first night to make sure we didn't have any questions - very nice. Even though you are on a busy street, the windows have great sound proofing and we slept well in the bed. We also appreciated the metro stop right across the street. Watching the Eiffel tower from the kitchen/dining room was a favorite activity in the evening with a bottle of wine. We highly recommend this apartment.
Loved this apartment, we stayed for 8 nights. It has a very homely and comfortable feel to it. Directly opposite Pigalle Metro station, it is easy to get around. The neighbourhood is colourful and vibrant, close to the Moulin Rouge and Sacré-Cœur.
One of the best things about it was to sit and watch the street below and the view over the rooftops of Paris. There’s plenty of food and wine places around, so you won’t go hungry or thirsty. If you stay here make sure you walk up and down every street in Montmartre, it is quite lovely.
The apartment had just about everything we needed, the only thing to note is that the fridge does not have a freezer in it. There is a lift that goes from ground to the top floor, so no stairs at all unless you want to.
The neighbour who greeted us was very friendly and helpful as were everyone we met in the building. The instructions on arrival details and what to do locally were very helpful.
I really miss already not coming home to this apartment, I would love to return again someday.
The other reviews here capture the spirit of this property perfectly. Read through them - we did, and were very happy with our stay. No surprises - except for the very friendly neighbors! Definitely recommend.
The apartment had everything we needed, and was very cute. It wasn't roomy, but that is part of the appeal when staying in a Parisian apartment. For us, this made the apartment more authentic. The apartment is on the top floor, and there is an elevator. The neighbors and everyone we met from the building were very friendly. The neighbor made himself available for any of our needs, and we felt very safe and comfortable. The view of the Eiffel tower was amazing, and the street below was busy for those who want to do some people watching from their window (but the apartment was surprisingly quiet when the window was shut). The bed was clean, the apartment was tidy, and surface cleaning was clearly done. But on closer inspection the apartment needs a deep clean. There was dust, towels should have been replaced, and the bathroom was on the dirty side (my wife did a bit of cleaning and you could see the dirt going down the drain). This might not bother some people, but neat freaks won't be satisfied. There is a nice street close by with restaurants and good bakeries, and the metro is right outside. Moulin Rouge is very close, as is Sacre Coeur. Overall we were very happy with this property.
My boyfriend and I spent 4 days in Paris, staying in this pretty apartment at 6th floor. The view from there is amazing: you can see the Tour Eiffel in front of you and breathe the lovely french air!
The location is also very good because Montmartre is only a few minutes walk and the metro is just across the street, so you can reach every place in the town very easily.
Moreover Pigalle, the neighborhood where the apartment is, is full of markets, pubs and pretty restaurant.
I would definitely recommend this apartment!!
Galatea's apartment is located just steps away from the Pigalle metro stop, making it very easy to travel all over Paris. Yes, as most have mentioned, if you walk a few blocks west toward the Moulin Rouge, you'll find a bunch of sex shops - nothing dangerous, so no need to worry. If you walk one block north toward the Abbesses metro stop, you'll find Rue des Abbesses - my absolute favorite street in all of Paris! It is filled with excellent restaurants, cafes, shops, and fresh produce and fish sellers. A travel advisory for those planning on visiting the Sacre Coeur: don't go at night and don't go alone. The area immediately surrounding the foot of the church is filled with a seedy element that lurks there even in daylight hours. Keep your arms close to your body, your belongings even closer, walk with purpose, and stay alert. On a happier note, the apt itself, while quite petite (there were 3 of us staying there, however it more realistically accommodates 2) is incredibly well-stocked! If you can dream it, you can find it in one of the cupboards. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, in such an adorable neighborhood! Thank you!
Paris Arrondissement 18, Paris, Ile-de-France (Paris Area), France, Europe -- The apartment has all kinds of transportation right outside the front door, which means that you will not have to walk far with your luggage when arriving and departing or when getting home after a long day out sightseeing.
The underground station, or Metro as it is referred to in France, and buses take you directly to Trocadero and the Eifel Tower, and to the Louvre, the Notre Dame and the river Seine. Montmartrebus, which also stops just outside will take you around the Montmartre village, if you find it tiring climbing the stairs or steep streets to the Sacre Coeur.
