The view at Emerald hill villa is stunning ! You get the sea and the bay it is simply breathtaking ! The pool is great! So peaceful and relaxing here! The bedrooms are air conditioned , I kept my door closed to keep out bugs. Main house is open air we had birds visit every day, I quite fell in love with one called Henry, he sat at my shoulder daily and I fed him . Alice the owner was an amazing lady, Albert drove us where we needed to go , Christine keeps the house tip top daily . My recommendations are, we loved to eat at Marsala, Pirates bay and doolittles. We didn't hire a car we walked down the steep hill every night ( 15 mins) tried back up one time and got a taxi back up the rest of the nights for $10 . We had a water taxi to Castries , I didn't enjoy and felt it a waste of time and money . At guest services we were given Charlie and we hired him from 10-3 as a private water taxi for $200, what an amazing day! Went to lots of beaches and snorkeled, loved sugar beach and chastanet, also the pitons and lunch in soufriess it was our best day here! We loved it! On our last day we hired a taxi $100 to go to reduit beach , another waste of money , ugly beach, long ride, and aggressive vendors who won't take no for an answer ! We turned around and left , we wish we had gonebback to one of the other beaches instead , kinda bummed about it really . All in all a great trip, the view will be missed !
We could not have chosen a better place to spend our first week of marriage. This villa has the BEST view in Marigot Bay, as you can see it in its entirety from the wrap around balcony, as well as a cliff top view of the ocean and sunset every night. Highly recommend staying here!
My husband and I stayed here for a week in June for our 2nd honeymoon and they had to drag us out! It was perfect, magical, very romantic! We simply could not get enough of the view and the pool from the Caribbean sunsets to gazing at the stars! We cooked several nights at home and just took in the view! We felt totally pampered with Christina our housekeeper when she washed our sheets and dried them in the Caribbean breezes...to our awesome taxi driver Albert and son Bob! They were great...drove us anywhere and everywhere with no worries man! The owner Alice visited a few times and shared the history of the house! She's so sweet and really makes your stay perfect! We are already planning our next trip! Can't wait!
We were two couples who came to St. Lucia to catch a cruise on a tall ship, but first we stayed 4 nights at this most beautiful location and home. Wow! The owner was very helpful, coming as soon as we arrived to be sure we had everything we needed. She was even in touch another time to warn my husband that it might be too windy for scuba diving. He checked and found she was right. He did get in one dive. We enjoyed 3 restaurants in Marigot Bay and also had a little sight seeing trip to Soufriere. We walked down to Marigot Bay at least 3 times and also found our way to a little cove south of the house. Lovely. We almost hated to leave the house because it was so wonderful. What a view. We even saw our ship sail into the bay. (Our quarters on the ship were much smaller!) Some people might not enjoy the pair of birds that were determined to build a nest in the house, but it added to our entertainment and our memories. Thank you for sharing your incredible home. The first visit to the Caribbean for my husband and I will be hard to beat if we get to come again, unless we stay here!!
The very best location on St. Lucia. At the top of the hill overlooking Marigot Bay and from the perfect plunge pool the vast Caribbean. Service was excellent from Christina the housekeeper to Uriel the manager always making sure our stay was perfect. The View could not be beat and the living area was large and enjoyable. Spent lots of time simply gazing!!
My husband and I decided to have oukr babymoon here on the week of the 31st of July until the 4th August. First off the management is so easy to deal with, Sylvie made sure that Albert our taxi service was waiting at the airport with sign in hand to pick us up. No waiting. Albert stopped off at a grocery store on the way and we loaded up our fridge. Uriel and Christine the maid had cleaned and put out fresh flowers. Uriel gave us a pre- programmed phone with all the numbers to restaurants in the area, and can services. The kitchen had everything you need. Updated pots and pans, a toaster oven, you name it. We saved money by cooking breakfast and lunch at the villa, then walked the 15 minute walk down the hill to all the great restaurants. I am 6 months pregnant and the walk was very refreshing a bit steep but very doable. Our favorites restauranrs in order would be, if you like Indian food, absolute best Masala Bay, then bit expensive but good, rainforest cafe, then the rum cave, and if you want good coffee and affordable lunch rowleys, all close by. You don't need a car, but if you want to visit the rest of the island, much cheaper if you can drive on the left side. We are from canada and drive on the right, but most roads are one single lane. So just stay left, it was easy after first hour of driving. Best beach, sugar beach. Best snorkeling, between the pitons. But after all these days, nothing beats the seclusion, and warm breeze that emerald hill provides watching the boats that stack up in front of this villa because this villa has a prime location to get the best view of the sunsets. So people pay big money for boat trips to sit in front of this villa to get a glimpse of the sunsets. You get it with this place. Hope this review helped. We will definitely be back. Thanks to everyone at emerald hill. Our stay was enjoyable and memorable.
