Picturesque and serene winter getaway!
Amazing views, cozy fireplace and we'll thought out log cabin combine for a relaxing stay. Very well stocked kitchen and linen closet. The few items we didn't bother bringing with us were already up there.
Brought our snowshoes and enjoyed peaceful hikes along the lake. We brought our Weber camping BBQ as recommended by a previous reviewer and were glad for it.
Roads from the lower mainland were all bare pretty much door to door. Only exception was the last 10km or so, which was well maintained and plowed and easy driving.
Would definitely go up again to see what spring in the Cariboo is like.
Amazing cabin with good fishing and great view
Went ice fishing for kokanee and rainbow trout , caught a lake trout and a few burbot
Cabin was first class
Comfortable and cozy on beautiful Sulphurous Lake
The cabin is a wonderful place to stay for a quiet getaway. We visit in October, and the fall colours and shining lake make it a beautiful time to be in the Cariboo. The cabin is very comfortable, very clean, in excellent repair, with a large kitchen that has every appliance and all the tableware necessary to accommodate any cooking and a good number of guests. The cabin is bright with lots of natural light and lake views. A large deck and lakefront location allow guests many options for taking in the beauty of the surroundings.
Thankful for the Cariboo Cabin
We have stayed at the Cariboo Cabin twice now, and it is so wonderful! Our youngest calls it our cabin...
Sylvia and John are very easy to deal with, and every amenity that you could think of is on site. We would recommend this lovely property to friends and family without hesitation, and hope to be back again next year. Thanks Sylvia and John for a wonderful stay!
We had a fantastic experience at The Cariboo Cabin. Sylvia and John were a pleasure to deal with during the booking process, and Sylvia followed up by phone once we arrived to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. The house is beautiful -- a picture perfect log house. We loved the incredible views of the lake from almost every room. The furnishings are extremely comfortable (including the beds). The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, and a pleasure in which to cook. The house is located in a beautiful bay on the lake which is perfect for kayaking, and kayaks and life jackets are available for use by guests. As an added bonus, for guests that want to fish but don't have a boat, a rental boat is available. Russ Bell, the incredibly helpful new owner of Moosehaven Resort on Lake Hathaway (which is literally 350 meters from the house) rented us a boat and motor for the week, and delivered it to the dock at the house. This was icing on the cake. Seriously, I cannot recommend this house highly enough -- it was ideal.
The cabin was very clean and more like a home. The beds were comfortable and the large kitchen (everything you need) was great for all the family to enjoy meals together at the table. The kids enjoyed seeing the dear in the yard from the patio and hearing the loons at night and early morning. Great nearby farmers market. The pictures don't do it justice. Will return for sure. Many thanks to the McGregor's for sharing your amazing cabin.
Canoeing, ATV trails, Geocaching, Bird Watching. Access to a number of nearby lakes offers a variety of fishing experiences.
