About Alisa Esh

Jake and Becky and their nine children live about half an hour away from this house. We built our cape-cod home in 1990 and lived their until the fall of 2009 when we moved to Honey Brook for mission purposes. Our home is built on an acre of the family farm. The farm, still in the family, is owned by Jake's youngest brother and borders the back of the yard. Jake's parents live next door and maintain a lot of the home and it's grounds. Our favorite part of this home is the safe and peaceful neighborhood surrounded by Amish homes and farmland.

Guestbook comments from the owner

What a wonderful vacation we had at your guest house! Thanks so much for sharing it with our family of #11 plus one on the way. The house and yard were fully adequate. We enjoyed the tether ball, butterfly garden, sandbox, campfire, and climbing tree in the backyard. Couples enjoyed the swing on the front porch. This location is great! I hope to return.

God really blessed us through you and your family. One of our families went to the "Joseph" show. I have seen it twice. Steve has seen it once.

May God continue to wonderfully bless you and your family,

Relaxing weekend!

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our short weekend getaway. It comfortably slept 4 families which included 6 adults and 6 children. The finished basement with toys and the swingset outside were perfect to keep the kids entertained. About 15 minutes from Dutch Wonderland and 15 minutes to Strausburg Railroad - great weekend all in all and a very central location for many attractions in Lancaster.

Great family house!

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for a running festival and had a great time. The house allowed us to be spread out, gave us the flexibility to eat in, and was a great place to sit back, relax, and watch the neighboring farms at work. It was so wonderful to relax, knowing the kids were loving the outdoor play equipment or down in the basement checking out the toys. I would highly recommend staying here for any family with kids.

Great location, nice house, needs maintenance.

  • 3 of 5

We love the area and this house is well situated for enjoying Lancaster County. The home can sleep twelve and the dining table expands greatly yet there were only 6 spoons! The home is attractive and nicely furnished but needs maintenance (mostly exterior - note missing baluster in photo). Our biggest problem was the low toilets. My wife, 7 weeks post knee surgery, was in agony by the end of our stay. The grandkids loved the house, our kids were fine with it, but us older folks needed one of those 4 inch toilet seats!

Great house with space!

  • 4 of 5

We were visiting Dutch Wonderland and stayed at this house with 5 families that each had kids. 10 adults and 9 kids ranging from 4 months - 4 years old. This house was great for all the kids as it was spacious, the basement has a great play area and the backyard had plenty of running room along with a small swings play area. The sandbox was questionable so we didn't let the kids play in there.

The cons of the house. 1. It is using an electric oven that is super slow in heating up. When you've got 19 people to feed, this delayed some of our morning meals when we wanted to just eat and get the day started already. 2. The shower stall on the main level was so inconsistent. One minute it is hot, the next minute it gets cold/lukewarm. And 3. Getting a response back from the owner via email or call was quite challenging. We had a room door that was locked when we arrived. After making several attempts of calling and leaving a message, we finally resorted to calling an alt number that we had to find in the black binder in the house before we finally got in touch with someone.

Overall, the house was great for our group. The house was clean and felt very homey. We'd consider renting this place again in the future.

This house is located close to many Amish-Mennonite attractions and shops. Your in the heart of Amish county farms behind you and across the street from the house and all around. We came into the area for a family wedding with 3 family's and it suited our needs well. Large home located in a quite location with Amish buggy's coming by often, large yard with a nice front porch to enjoys the views.

Our Wonderful Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We REALLY enjoyed staying at Harvest Dr. Guest House! (July 7-14th, 2017 ) We all love the Lancaster area, but this was even better then we could have imagined! I wrote in the back of the guest book, but wanted to share w/others about this beautiful home. Sitting on the front porch & seeing all the rolling hills w/farms was a real treat! (& hearing the clip, clop of the horses' hooves as the buggies drove by.) Our 2 sons & wives came too, & 6 children total, ranging from 3 to 13 yrs old. There were things to keep us all busy--many toys, games or books in basement, the large backyard, & the lovely home in general. Plenty of beds & bathrms for everyone! The large table w/many extra leaves was so cozy as our family sat for meals. One nite we used the fire pit & made s'mores & it was so relaxing!! Of course there are many things to do in that area too--we drove to Hershey Park one day, & also ate at Millers. Also the girls shopped a short while at the Outlets. We hope to go back sometime, as everyone really liked it there.(PS--we loved the scripture verses on the walls too!) May God bless you as you share your nice home! Norma & Allan Giordano ( from SC.) (Norma grew up on farms in MD & PA --York area, so this was like coming home)
