Jake and Becky and their nine children live about half an hour away from this house. We built our cape-cod home in 1990 and lived their until the fall of 2009 when we moved to Honey Brook for mission purposes. Our home is built on an acre of the family farm. The farm, still in the family, is owned by Jake's youngest brother and borders the back of the yard. Jake's parents live next door and maintain a lot of the home and it's grounds. Our favorite part of this home is the safe and peaceful neighborhood surrounded by Amish homes and farmland.
What a wonderful vacation we had at your guest house! Thanks so much for sharing it with our family of #11 plus one on the way. The house and yard were fully adequate. We enjoyed the tether ball, butterfly garden, sandbox, campfire, and climbing tree in the backyard. Couples enjoyed the swing on the front porch. This location is great! I hope to return.
God really blessed us through you and your family. One of our families went to the "Joseph" show. I have seen it twice. Steve has seen it once.
May God continue to wonderfully bless you and your family,
Our stay at Harvest Drive Guest House overall was a perfect week. The house was clean, comfortable and definitely had enough room for all. We met the owner and had a lovely conversation. We would come back again. Just like home.
We love being at your lovely home, and had an enjoyable time. Even some of the grandkids who work or are married now were able to come up for a day. Had a memorable time. Looking forward to next year.
The house was clean and neat. Furniture in living room was dated and uncomfortable but the beds were fine. Kitchen was fully stocked although we only ate a light breakfast there both mornings.
Disappointed in the no alcohol rule which is only listed on the "rules" in the binder when you arrive. We were 7 adults and only have a glass of wine with dinner so we are not big partiers. Did not want to lose our deposit over it though.
We "shopped until we dropped" and it was a nice place to come back to.
Very roomy house. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms . It was nice not to have to bring our own linens and towels. Air conditioning was great to have.
We ate at Dienner's Country Restaurant on RT. 30 and Shady Maple. Shopped the fabric stores, Kitchen Kettle and outlets which were all easily accessible.
Would rent this home again.
This is a very clean and beautiful home. We ALL loved it! There were 15 (8 adults/7 teenagers) of us, we were all comfortable and there was plenty of room! Loved hearing/seeing the Amish buggies go by all day. We couldn't believe how tall the corn stalks were - at least 10 feet! The area is very pretty and not far from Sight and Sound theatre which is where we were going. Spent a couple days shopping too! I highly recommend this home and will definitely return the next time we go as a group again.
We stayed for 2 nights to attend a basketball tournament in the area, everybody is so at home. We enjoyed the countryside view, everything is provided for a comfortable stay we didnt even have to contact the owner while we were there. Thank you so much!
We stayed with our children and grandchildren (12 people total) and had a great time. There was enough room for the little ones ages 4-7 to play in the basement and the grown ups to play games upstairs. There was plenty of room to eat at the dining room table. The only negative was the electrified fence in the backyard. I think another fence should be put in front of it so children could play freely back there.
Amish Horse & Buggy rides around the countryside, within walking distance of the Village of Intercourse and Kitchen Kettle, within 15 minutes of Rockvale and Tanger Outlets, Sight & Sound Theatre, Dutch Wonderland, Strasburg Railroad, and many restaurants.
