Look no further - this is truly in the heart of Dupont Circle and steps from the metro - unlike other listings we are not in the outskirts or located in an adjacent neighborhood like Logan Circle or Adams Morgan. If you are unfamiliar with DC, Northwest DC (NW) is by far the safest quadrant and even within NW there are big differences. The same goes for Dupont Circle - the closer in you are to the center, the safer and better, which is why our location is unbeatable! You won’t find a city neighborhood as safe and nice as the heart of Dupont Circle, which is one of the reasons we’re sure you’ll be glad you selected our home! You'll feel relaxed and at home when you stay in the Carriage House, located in the heart of Washington DC's safest and best neighborhood. From this house, you are just steps to the metro (five minute walk), restaurants, shops, etc. and short walk to DC attractions (Georgetown, White House, National Mall, museums, art galleries) and 2 blocks to DC tour bus stop
The carriage house is a stand-alone two story apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and new hardwood floors throughout. Virtually all of the rentals on this site have neighbors above and/or below. Carriage Houses are unique in that they do not have other apartments above or below; however, most Carriage Houses have an alley entrance while ours allows you to enter through the front of the property so you have the benefit of both privacy and safety!
Master bedroom: Queen bed and TV; separate full bathroom
2nd Bedroom: Two Twin beds and full bathroom.
It has a fully equipped all new kitchen, washer/dryer, central air/heat, skylight, fireplace, 2 TVs, free wireless Internet and cable TV and opens to a private courtyard with patio furniture and charcoal grill.
Layout: The main floor has a family room/kitchen area, master bedroom and a full bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked, has a breakfast bar and opens to the family room with a flat screen TV and fireplace. Off this space is the master bedroom with a queen size bed and flat screen TV and also a full bathroom. From the family room area, there's a spiral staircase that leads down to the first level with the second bedroom, with 2 twin beds and a TV and a full bathroom and separate laundry room. The first level also has a deck and its own entry since it's on the ground floor; however the main entry to this apartment on the second floor, up a flight of stairs. There is also an inflatable mattress that provides additional sleeping space. The apartment has a lot of light but also provides a lot of privacy, both from other people (since it is a stand-alone unit) and from your other guests since the bedrooms are on different floors; however the layout is not as ideal for children under 3 or people who have difficulty with stairs.
The entrance to this apartment is up a flight of stairs so if you would like to avoid stairs our other apartment at this location may work better for you.
Larger parties can be accommodated by reserving both properties at this location; please inquire.

The Circle itself is a gathering place with park benches, grass and a unique fountain in the center.

I wanted you to know that my sister and enjoyed your rental. Everything worked well, and the location couldn't be any better. We loved the area and its proximity to what we wanted to see.
We especially appreciate your quick replies throughout the rental process. If any of our friends mention a trip to DC, we will certainly let them know about your place.
Have a great weekend.
This is very well located house, near the Dupont Circle Metro station, a very safe area with good restaurants and groceries stores. The house is well equipped with most of the things one may need in the kitchen and bathrooms. Very clean which is a plus for us. We used the kitchen for breakfast and sometimes for dinners, saved good money, we even set up dinner for christmas which came out great. The house includes a garage since it is a bit difficult to get parking on the street in addition to restrictions in times and so on. Although we never met Jennifer it was very easy to get in touch with her for reservations, questions, etc. I think the main advantage of the house is its location, one can move in DC very easily through the metro, avoiding extra costs for parking etc. One of our relatives has to use temporarily wheel chair, so it was perfect for us to have a house near the train station and move through DC in the metro, besides DC metro has wheel chair access in all stations, a great thing. Instructions for check in and out very easy, even with recommendations for restaurants. Heating for the cold of winter worked great but we found that bottom floor did not seem to reach the nice upstairs temperature, it was always a bit colder, so we had to use an extra heater located downstairs. We really found this house very nice to stay, and would come back, our only recommendation is that it is necessary a light right before entering the garage after the stairs from the house. At night it was very dark and we had to use the light from the cell phone to avoid accidents. May be there is a broken movement sensor or the light exists but we did not find it. Any way, great house, super recommendable!!!, will come back!
My family - 2 adults and 3 children - stayed for 3 nights in the adorable apartment. It is exactly as pictured here on VRBO. There is an upstairs queen bedroom and down a cute spiral staircase there is another room with 2 twins. (If you have small children you would have to be very careful about watching the kids near the staircase area. Not ideal for little ones.) I saw 2 blow up beds in the apartment although we brought our own and just put our 3 kids in the downstairs room. There was plenty of extra bedding in the storage closet. All the beds were very comfortable. Jennifer, the owner, could not be kinder, and was in touch with me many times to answer my various questions. The apartment also came with a parking space...which is key in DC. Our Minivan actually wouldn't clear the steep slope of the driveway so...Jennifer immediately set us up with another parking spot about 5 blocks away. It worked perfectly. So, if you have a low hanging car you might want to verify that their other space is available. The kitchen was well stocked...pots, pans, bagel toaster, microwave etc. I made breakfast every morning, packed up lunches and even made dinner one night. The apartment is in a very safe area...people walking dogs, to work etc. all day long. It is an easy 2 minute walk to the Dupont Circle Metro stop although we actually walked from the apartment past the White House to the mall one day and "Ubered" it on the other days. It cost about $11-$13 depending on the time to get to the Smithsonian museums via Uber. There is a starbucks, 7 -eleven (we picked up some eggs), and many restaurants and cute shops within several blocks. A Safeway is about a 10 min walk away and I'm told a Whole Foods is another 5-10 or so minute walk from there. We walked to Adams Morgan one night for dinner -- took us about 15 min. Perfect location for this adorable place. Hope to book again in the future and will definitely tell my friends about it. SOOOOO much better than getting a hotel room!!
My family of 5 adults spent 4 nights in unit B. Beautiful unit, the courtyard was an added bonus! Pull out sofa was surprisingly comfortable. GREAT location. Can't say enough good things about the experience. Jennifer was so helpful. The garage was awesome, couldn't imagine trying to park in the city!
We stayed in Apt B the Garden Apartment as well as parked our car in the garage. Perfect location for accessing DC and a very comfortable neighborhood. Jennifer is a breeze to deal with and the instructions were clear and easy. If you are visiting DC I highly recommend this place.
This place comes as advertised. We had 2 adults and 2 young children in our party. The washer/dryer was helpful. The garage parking was critical. The central heat worked amazingly well during the cold wet days we were there. The fold out sofa bed and two additional beds were extremely comfortable.
Absolutely a great location for restaurants and site seeing. The owner was incredibly easy to work with and available for any questions before and during our stay.
Great price. Great value. I would stay here again.
Our family of four loved this vacation rental on our recent visit to DC. It proved to be a convenient home base for all the exploring we had planned. We were excited to have the metro so close. In fact we took the metro to and from the airport with ease. Nearly everything we wanted to see was approximately a $10-15 cab ride away- a good value for a family of four.
Our kids loved having their own room- each with their own twin bed. The kitchen was gorgeous, and convenient for breakfasts (and well enough stocked to do some serious cooking). The property was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed seeing many of the nearby embassies. There are many dining options nearby, and Jennifer kindly provided a list of recommended restaurants.
What a treat to have an option like this property, rather than trying to cram a family of four into one hotel room.
