About Bob Kendrick

This home is my private residence and was built in 2008. I'm a developer and most of my project work over the years were in Southern California. It's amazing here. In California I lived on the beach and did a lot of sailing, and I traded the beach for the restive area here. I hardly ever drive my car because I'm in the center of town and can get anything I want anytime. I like to travel too, so I thought why not rent the house out while I'm away. If you need any information on the area just Google the town and you'll find more than enough. Thanks

Bob Kendrick purchased this townhome in 2008

Why Bob Kendrick chose Historic Downtown District

I moved to Ashland Oregon in 1996 because it had all the cultural activities as I had in California but was much better because I also had easy access to the rivers, lakes, mountains where I can ski, sail, hike and just get outdoors. This is just a little jewel of a city hidden away and sometimes I think I get to live in Disneyland's downtown main street, because that's just what it looks like.

What makes this townhome unique

Because Ashland has so many cultural activities from theatre to foreign film festivals, the Brit musical festival is just 10 minutes away in Jacksonville too. It's a short 25 minute ride in the country to get to. With all this and the benefits offered from the mountains and rivers in the Northwest what more can a person ask for when trying to get away from it all.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Great location and beautiful home. So close to everything we could want. The rooftop deck was a refuge where we sat and enjoyed the sunset and wine. Going to the theatre was so easy since it’s only steps away. The furniture and beds where great and the entire home very clean. Bob was always available if we had any needs. We parked in a secured parking garage on the property but never really needed the car.

The Best Vacation Stay

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this townhouse for years and it is unbeatable. The location, privacy, interior finish and roof top decks makes this a real luxury vacation that is a steal when you consider what is in the area. This place by far can be in Manhattan and the only difference would be the great views of the mountains and historic city views from every window and balcony int the house. We just keep coming back. Love it!!!! Thank you Bob

Best location!

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in Ashland and one great reason was because of the location of the condo. We parked our car upon arrival and didn't have to drive again until we left 5 days later. Wonderful restaurants, the Shakespeare Festival, the beautiful park...everything in walking distance.

The condo is very cute. We enjoyed having the kitchen and having 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, even though there were only 2 of us. We are used to a lot of space, so being able to spread out was great. The 2nd bathroom is extremely small and the shower is difficult to turn around in, and we are not large people. I love taking baths, so the bathtub in the master was delightful. I sometimes have trouble sleeping, so I tend to get up in the night to read. The 2nd bedroom is loud, like some of the other reviewers stated, being on the alley where people seem to congregate at 2am. I found ear plugs in the nightstand as we were packing up to leave. :( I'm not sure I'd be comfortable staying in the secondary room and bathroom all the time.

The other thing that was uncomfortable was that the entry to the condo is on the alley, where we found homeless people sleeping, or hanging around. We only had a couple of times when they actually tried to talk to us, but we tended to check the alley before walking down it most days.

None of this kept us from having a great stay in Ashland. What a nice place to visit.

Owner's Response: Amy, we are sorry some of the city sounds annoyed you in the back bedroom, that happens from time to time. We encourage everyone to call the City Dispatch who send a patrol out to mitigate the issue. We call this paying it forward for the next guest. It helps us stop these issues. Also there was an increase of travelers when you were here late last summer which has been taking care of by encorporating new walking patrols all over town day and night with little tolerance for the items that concerned you. Our entry is on Will Dodge Way, and is not thought of as an alley. Will Dodge Way is a pleasant tree lined walking area and an alternate to Main Street on hot days. Also, the City just placed in effect an Ordnance effectively making this a non smoking area to further mitigate concerns. For our guest convience we have security cameras that the guest are welcome to use to see all the surrounding areas of the exterior of the home by downloading the app which we supply you. And as you know the building is fully secured and keyed locked systems at all points of entry and only 200 feet from the theatre. Over the last several years we have continued to advocate for a comfortable safe place so our guest can continue to come and have a good time. This home is modern, safe, secluded within the beautiful city center. Thank you, Bob Kendrick

Great location, great view

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I have stayed in this townhouse for several years in a row. The location is perfect for walking to the theatres, (about 2 blocks) restaurants, and downtown shops, and the secure, indoor garage is a real plus. The townhouse is spacious, open and airy. I love my morning coffee on the roof deck, enjoying the view. Sparkly clean, the kitchen and baths are equipped with everything you could possibly need. This unit suits my friend and me to a T. Following our plays we can relax and discuss the production in the comfortable living room downstairs, but at the end of the day we each have our own private bedroom (with ensuite baths) retreat. The owners are accessible, accommodating and pleasant. Thanks for such a lovely place to stay, Mr. Kendrick!

Excellent location and wonderful apartment

  • 5 of 5

This is a spectacular place to stay for the OSF plays or just Ashland itself. Beds are very comfortable - two very private suites -- and the furnishing are very attractive and well maintained. You can't get any closer to the OSF theaters - we literally left the apartment 15 minutes before each production. Eating dinner on the rooftop patio is truly spectacular and reminded us of being in Italy. Hosts are very accommodating and responsive. Excellent kitchen and cooking supplies are provided. We will stay here every return trip to Ashland if available!!!!

Great location for walking

  • 4 of 5

Lovely, spacious, clean, nice balcony, secure and comfortable. Centrally located - our car stayed in locked garage for our entire 4-day visit.

Everything would have been just about right were it not for the noise. One bedroom gets traffic noise, but the most troublesome noise came from across the street where several loud young people with their dogs camped out. The person in that room never got a full night's sleep the entire time.
