Welcome to our updated South Lake Tahoe condo located at Bavarian Villages. Upgrades include new oven and stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, tile flooring in kitchen, remodeled master bath and updates to guest bathroom. A new gas burning fireplace and other furniture additions create a comfortable and spacious interior. Yet rustic touches with lots of charms.

Why stay at a hotel? We have great rates that include hotel quality towels and cleanliness with the comfort of a home and full kitchen!!!!

Cable TV and internet local for this unit as well as access to community internet system.

AT GREAT VALUES, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED....

Unit is conveniently on the first floor and at the rear of the complex. This provides easy in/out for baggage and a quiet location within the Bavarian Village complex.

3 Bedrooms, 2 full Baths and full size Kitchen/Dining Room and Family room. 1200 sq Ft.

New gas fireplace with thermostat controls installed in the family room along with New forced air heater for the bedrooms allows for comfortable days and nights.

Kitchen has brand new-state of the art appliances including; full size oven/stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee machine and blender.

Internet is now available for individual Bavarian Village units and I just replaced the old TV with a newer model 50' widescreen. Bring your DVD movies or rent some while in So Lake.

We do have internet and cable TV, plus an Ipod dock.

2 Bedrooms are equipped with queen size beds and 3rd with two twins.

Master bedroom has a view of Gunbarrel run on the face of Heavenly ski resort.

Master bath has been exquisitely updated with all new shower, vanity and sinks.

All new linens and plush towels.

5 Minute Drive to Heavenly Ski Resort. Conveniently located between Highway 50 and Pioneer Trail, only a few blocks from Ski Run Blvd. A short walk to the good food and beer at the Brewery at Lake Tahoe

Premises includes Pool/outdoor Hot Tub and laundry facilities.

Rates are as follows: (2 night minimum).

Cleaning Fee of $120 is NOT included in prices.

For a group of only 2, cleaning fee is $80.

Rates do NOT include the 10% occupancy tax.

Save money as all rentals are directly from unit owner.

No extra management fees.

A minimum 50% deposit is due upon booking. This is 80% refundable with more than 30 days advance notice from check in date or 100% may be applied to other rental dates.

Deposit is 50% refundable from 30 -7 days advance notice from check in date.

Balance due one week prior to check in. Any cancellation within one week of check in date is subject to no refund.

About David Gittelman & Natalia Sanchez

The condo has been in Julie's family for nearly 40 years. Julie resides in Key West, Florida and once upon a time lived in the condo. Now she spends most of her time sailing a Top Sail Schooner and looking forward to her annual pilgrimage to her condo. I have known Julie for over 20 years and we have become family and I now own the condo with her. I was living in California and using the condo regularly, but now I spend most of my time living in Costa Rica. Pura Vida. But I miss my time at the condo.

As I mentioned this was the family retreat for Julie's family for 40 years. It has provided them with so many memorable escapes from the likes of Minnesota and Florida. It has been their mountain retreat, surrounded by grandeur, peace and serenity. I enjoy it for the outdoor recreation and the social fun. Right outside the door is great skiing and endless mountain bike riding. Two of my favorite activities.

Very quiet and relaxing community.

The place was more than enough for my trip. The condo is only about two miles from Heavenly. If you want a work out, walking to the casinos is an option (i never did). The place has everything you need, including Wi-Fi and a big TV. My friend brought up his PS4 and played on a big screen. This is a perfect place for a guys/girls trip.!!

BEST PLACE EVER!

First off, the owner was AWESOME. He was so quick to reply to any messages, within less than a day, but typically within an hour or two. He was very nice to deal with.

Second, the condo was GREAT! It was so much nicer than the pictures. It was HUGE but still cozy. It was located right off the main strip with all kinds of fast food and board shops. Heavenly was right up the road.

This was my first experience booking off this website, and it was marvelous.

I absolutely loved this place and owner, and will try to book it for every single trip to Tahoe!

5 stars, no complaints!!! :)

Great Getaway

The location of this condo is excellent! It only took 5 minutes to drive to Heavenly. Lots of restaurants and casinos close by also. The place was well taken care of, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the kitchen was very nicely stocked. The only thing that could make it better is a washer and dryer in the unit, although at least there was a laundry room available within the complex.

Lipstick on a pig

I often use the presence of matching decor as an indication of the level at which a property is maintained. It's not always a guarantee, but usually some indication that the property isn't sorely neglected. Unfortunately not so here. Walls that all need a new coat of paint, door and drawer knobs hanging so loose you're afraid to use them, windows that are leaky and drafty, throw rugs everywhere to cover stained and ripped carpeting, really poorly done patch jobs in the popcorn ceiling, and black mold that has all but taken over the master bathroom shower. Considering that the master bath was the only real renovation in the condo (decorating is not renovating), and that the owner said there has been a history of moldy shower curtains in the past (and that all the plumbing was replaced when the bathroom renovation was done), it's not a long trip to the conclusion that there is a chronic mold issue in the condo. To top that off it wasn't clean either. Thick dust, old food on the stove, and pincer bugs in the bath towels were the finishing touches.

The owner was quick to respond, and courteous. However unflattering this review is, it isn't personal. Just information I wish I had known before booking. Living out of country makes it impossible to properly maintain a property that is so old and has so many needs. I wish i could have said it was great! I really do! Also not mentioned in the description is the fact that this condo is a ground floor unit with upstairs neighbors. I have no idea whether the people upstairs were vacation renters or residents, but there is little sound insulation between floors. I'll be discrete and say they didn't agree with each other much in the middle of a few nights. I wouldn't stay here again because the complex is fairly old, and although much more than just the master bath needs renovation in this unit, there's only so much an owner can do with an apartment style unit that shares all it's structure with multiple neighbors. Decoration without real renovation is like putting lipstick on a pig. Except you won't be laughing when you see this one.

Owner's Response: Like all reviews and feedback, I appreciate guest providing me with these so I can ensure my property is as indicated. It is very unfortunate that Sheia did not contact me upon arrival so I could have notified the cleaning service and had items addressed immediately to allow for a pleasant stay. That being said, most of the items brought up surprise me and as evidenced by my many other reviews are not accurate. Yes the condo is over 50 years old and this cannot be changed. These are 4 units per building, not stand alone Villas. I do not control rental unit above. The remodel performed over 5 years ago now was thorough and included all new kitchen appliances, new flooring in the kitchen and both bathrooms. Repainting of kitchen, family room and both bathrooms as well as almost entirely gutting of master bath where the alleged mold issue exist. My cleaning service indicated the shower curtain was recently just changed and that if there is any mold they will thoroughly clean. There is not a mold growth in the walls issue and I will now recommend to all guest the utilize the bathroom fan for a longer time period to dry out as well as having the cleaning service inspect more thoroughly. Part of the remodel was replacing of a very old and inefficient gas assisted wood burning fireplace with a cleaner and more efficient gas stove. The old unit was huge and went entirely to the ceiling and once removed there was no popcorn above this. The so called patch work is where the existing popcorn transitions to a small area that has no popcorn and I had no intent to utilize a construction technique utilized over 30 years ago have a better match. The runner carpets are to protect high traffic areas, not conceal outdated carpets. I represent that our condo is a great family option and not the Ritz. We consistently upgrade the condo and do a thorough deep cleaning each year, including steam cleaning the carpet which is on the list to replace. Additionally, there are NO drafty windows. They have all been replaced with Milgard double pain windows and are more efficient than the solid concrete walls which may have been the draft the guest mentioned. Again, I appreciate feedback which helps me provide my guest with a nice stay and I have addressed Sheilas concerns with the cleaning service, but there are many assumptions and misrepresentations about ongoing mold and lack of upkeep, let alone insulting my remodel of a 50 year old condo as "lipstick on a pig".

Great stay!

The condo was great! It was a little older but very will kept. Dave was very professional and quick to respond. The location is great as well, it was in the heart of the happening area of South Lake Tahoe but with the wilderness feel. Just a few minute drive anywhere, or a nice walk. We did both. The condo was cozy and super comfortable, the only thing is that it smelled like cigarette smoke when we arrived but we aired out the condo and the smell went away. I highly recommend this place to everyone and would love to visit again! Thank you so much for sharing your home with my family! :)
