Very nice and quiet.

  • 4 of 5

We thought we would be a little closer to the water so was some what disappointed by that. But the house was lovely and in wonderful condition and the location on the hill side was perfect. The town of Big Fork is worth spending the day shopping and having a nice lunch. It is a bit of a drive to Glacier but it is spectacular!

To the owner, thanks so much for sharing wonderful log cabin.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay at our log cabin. We hope the distance to the lake wasn't a problem for you. We clearly state that this cabin is not right on the water but located about 1/2 mile above the Yellow Bay state park. This is very close and convenient for access but is not the best walk due to the hill and the highway below. Most of our guests drive down the the lake access. Thanks for staying with us.

Dream cabin!

Our stay here was magical. The cabin alone is worth the visit, let alone the incredible surroundings and gracious owners. We hope to return to return ever so soon!

Best spot on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the lodge, while friends/family stayed in the adjacent cabin. Both were wonderful--cozy and comfortable, adorable without being too cute-sie. Big fluffy white towels and fabulous clawfoot tub, nice dishes, glasses, cast iron skillets. Fun antique furniture. Beds were very comfortable, with nice sheets and quilts. We loved waking up and picking ripe cherries from the orchard to have with our coffee and breakfast on the porch overlooking the lake. Total privacy and lots of space for kids to run around on the property. Yellow Bay state park was very close, with a perfect pebble swimming beach in a protected bay. Nice hike just 5 minutes north. Only thing we had trouble with was the futon couch in the big house--we couldn't get it to work as a bed. Kids were happy to sleep on the floor for one night so it wasn't a problem, but I wouldn't count on it for sleeping 2 people. Overall, we loved this place and will definitely be back!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to submit your super nice review. We agree that yellow bay is the best spot on the lake. Peaceful and quiet and not crowded with the best swimming beach around. The vintage futon couch can be tricky. Lift up on bottom and then push towards the back until it clicks and folds down. Kopefully you can come visit again.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Yellow Bay Lodge for seven days for the second time, and it was every bit as wonderful as our first stay. The cabin is so welcoming and comfortable - everything is just perfect. What one sees in the pictures is exactly what you see when you arrive. We all agree that we could sit on the front porch and look at the view for hours each day and never get tired of it. The cherry tress were loaded with cherries this year, and George, who is so friendly and welcoming, stopped by to remind us that we were welcome to pick them to our heart's content. They were delicious! We hope to make this an annual trip from now on. Because our son and his bandmates stopped in for a visit, on two nights we had 7 adults sleeping in the cabin. There was plenty of room, plenty of lovely bath towels and bedding, and all of us were comfortable. We ate out several times over the week, but cooked a number of meals in the cabin as well. We were never at the loss for dishes, cookware, or utensils - George has thought of everything. The washer and dryer are a big plus and work beautifully. We took day trips to Glacier Park (Going to the Sun Highway), Big Fork, Whitefish, Swan Lake, and St. Mary's. Such fun! This getaway at Yellow Bay Lodge is so relaxing. I'm not kidding when I say we start counting the days until next year as soon as we get home. I cannot recommend this property and experience highly enough. Really, it was just perfect! Can't wait until next year.

Idyllic Setting

  • 5 of 5

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the charming Yellow Bay Lodge. The setting is so peaceful, and we loved taking in the gorgeous sunset while enjoying a fire, with views of Flathead Lake and being surrounded by cherry trees - we wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you for a perfect Montana experience!
