Great place

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is exactly how it's described. The cabin is very roomy inside and "stocked" with everything you may need, the bonus is that it overlooks a small lake. My kids especially loved the canoe-and they have everything needed for fishing including fishing rods and life preservers for kids and adults alike. The driveway is easily accessible without having to go down/up a steep driveway, unlike other cabins in the development. Customer service was stellar--the refrigerator actually malfunctioned while we were there and we emailed the owner who responded to the email within 5 minutes. She was able to secure a repairmen within 2-3 days, however, she compensated us for the inconvenience without us even asking. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the area.

perfect getaway for Thanksgiving

  • 5 of 5

Autumn is a fabulous time to visit the Lake Lure area. The mild temperature and trees without leaves make the hiking and vistas magnificent.

We can't say enough good things about the Hernandez cabin. The loft is charming, while the first floor is beautiful and comfortable. We grandparents especially appreciated the jacuzzi after two days of hiking Rumbling Bald and Chimney Rock. We all enjoyed the canoeing on Little Mirror Lake. It was so easy to make ourselves at home in the well-equipped kitchen. The instructions were very complete and clear and we found it just as described. This cabin was a treasure to find, and worked beautifully for our three generation Thanksgiving retreat. We'd love to do it again.

Exactly as advertised

  • 5 of 5

The website, including the photos, give you a good sense of what this place is like. It is a nice, quiet, comfortable house, overlooking a small lake. There are plenty of fun day trips to do -- if you want to -- or you can just hang out on the terrace and relax.

We had a wonderful time staying at your cozy cabin on small Mirror Lake. You provided everything needed for our stay and we so appreciated that. We highly recommend your cabin to anyone staying near Lake Lure.

Enjoyed our stay!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed for a week. Cabin presents as photographed - was actually bigger than I expected. Loved the swing on the back porch. My husband used the canoe- no issues. Cabin was clean, everything worked, and it was a very quiet area. Went into Asheville, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, and the Biltmore. The only drawback for us was the remote nature of the cabin- takes a little while to get places. But very well cared for and exactly as presented. Owners were very pleasant to deal with as well. :)

Very Nice Well Equipped Cabin home

  • 4 of 5

The house is very nice and was very clean at check-in. There are 3 porches but the main porch off the living room has the view of the lake and the grill and picnic table. So most time was spent on that porch. There is a spa in the master bath which worked well and was used almost daily. The internet worked fine but slow. The direct tv went out during a storm and didn't come back completely. There are many amenities. We did not use the fishing poles but did use the canoe which isn't in the greatest shape. The pictures do show the cabin furnishings as they are but 2-3 cushions are ripped on living room extra sofa. The outside patio sofas are not very clean and are covered with coverups which when shaken are falling apart. I didn't want to sit on them and the two chaises on the lower deck were so dirty I would not sit on them. The 2 queen beds are very high and I found it difficult to get up on them. The exterior has gotten significantly overgrown with weeds and other growth. This cabin needs some TLC and replacement of some cushions etc. Land clearing would be nice. This is definitely not a handicapped accessible cabin. The beds are too high, the bathroom doors are not wide enough for a wheelchair, there are no grab bars, etc
